“What do you mean by I'm too insignificant for him to send thugs after me?!”

Casey jumped up from the couch, obviously peeved by what he said.

Aidan sighed tiredly pinching the bridge of his nose and lowering his head.

“Look, Casey, you're getting this all wrong…” He tried to take her hand gently to sit her back down but she shrugged his hand off.

That somewhat annoyed him, as he was already having a sleep-deprived moody morning.

“Look, Casey, before you came here, I had other things that needed my attention”

Aidan stood up and brushed his shirt. “If you're not going to hear me out, then it's best I attend to that”

“So whatever it is, is more important than the bruises on my delicate face, right?”

Aidan placed a hand on his waist and sighed in frustration. He wasn't in the spirit for any argument whatsoever.

“I see them, Casey… Okay, let's do it this way, how about you stay and wait for me, Elijah will take proper care of you till I get back. I'm sure you’ll be calmer then.”
