Chapter Sixty-Five

He brought the phone to his forehead and tapped it vigorously, putting Sadie on hold. After a few seconds, he brought it back to his ears.

“I'm coming down,” He said and put the phone back.

He strides over to where Eileen is sitting with Casey, her back being rubbed and patted by her as she looks dazy and out of place.

He got to her and squatted to get to her level, cupping her hands in his.

“How are you feeling now?” He asked warmly.

Eileen still rubbed her eyes and looked around the whole room as if she hadn't fully taken in the environment like it was alien to her or maybe the alcohol wasn't fully out of her system yet, and the effects were still blurring out the part of her brain that could assimilate fast.

“What did you drink?” Aidan asked again, noticing the way she kept turning her head about, avoiding the question or like she was perplexed and needed some clarity.
