Chapter Thirty-One

Looking at Jeremy exit the building with his humiliated face gave Aidan a rush of satisfaction. He grinned from ear to ear.

Aidan spun around to see Mr. Edward, removing the fabric from the floor.

"What do you mean his father didn't let you live a peaceful life after he loaned you money?" He asked with so much interest.

Mr. Edward stopped what he was doing and placed the fabric on top of the armchair that was near him.

"I might be the best designer the elite of Emergande City come to, but there was a time I hit a little setback." He stopped, stride over to the table with the champagne bucket, and poured himself a glass.

"I went to Frederick Clayton– he's a loan shark…" He drawled and took a sip of the champagne. "No, a loan whale should be a better description."

"He gave me the money I needed, about 100 million dollars, with a little bit of interest to pay back but little did I know that every day the money is with me, a million dollars is added on top."
