Chapter Thirty

"Mr. Raymond is waiting for you in your Penthouse suite Sir," Sadie said to Aidan as she met him on his way to the same suite.

He strode past Sadie who bowed briefly before going about her business. Aidan entered the elevator and pressed the button for the penthouse. His mind drifted back to the pictures he saw of Rachel–How could Doris be so heartless?

Rachel was placed in a raggy bit of clothes. She looked all alone and abandoned. He wondered what must be going through her mind. Thinking about this broke his heart greatly, it brought a tear to his eyes.

The elevator came to a halt and Mr. Raymond was the first to welcome him, waiting at the entrance of the suite. He wiped the tear that dripped on his cheek and stepped in.

"Good Day, Sir, I got here as soon as I left the police station" He extended his hands to shake him. Aidan didn't return the courtesy and walked straight to the bar area of the lavish sitting room, took a glass cup, and poured himself a shot of whiskey.
