Ferdinand Johansson was holding the steering wheel restlessly with his two sharp eyeballs staring straight ahead that were barely visible due to the stormy night that suddenly poured down along the way to the Johansson family residence.
"Shit! I'll be late," he grumbled as he continued to drive the luxury sedan at high speed.
The man did not know that another vehicle had been following him while playing with its headlights until its reflection on the rearview mirror disturbed Ferdinand's vision, but he did not care, choosing to drive faster so as not to be late returning home.
"What's going on?" Ferdinand panicked because suddenly the brakes suddenly lost function even though there was a steep winding road ahead so that the car's speed was uncontrollable, within seconds there was a loud bang followed by an explosion.
At Ferdinand's house, a festive party was being held and the sound of music could be heard throughout the entire area of the Johansson family's luxurious residence, about two hundred Very Important Person invited guests were enjoying the sparkling event.
"Where is he when it's been two hours since this event took place," muttered Mr. Levin Johansson feeling annoyed.
"Patience, our son will be here soon my dear," Camila coaxed her husband.
"He shouldn't have left on his own at such an important event," growled Levin, losing his temper.
"But he told me he'd be back before the ceremony," Camila explained.
"Ferdinand should be able to manage his time when he wants to leave." Levin's tone became so high that even some of the guests present started to pay attention out of curiosity.
"Let's wait a while, maybe our son will come soon," Camila persuaded Ferdinand, hoping that her husband could calm down even though there was a part of her heart that felt anxious shouting bad premonitions.
"Alright I want to calm myself down first." Levin chose to go upstairs to his private room, occasionally flashing a smile as he passed several invited guests in honor of their presence tonight.
Camila felt uneasy, finally forced to stay alone standing in the middle of the crowd feeling her heart beating faster, not understanding what caused her to start looking around at the many guests from Levin's colleagues who came with their daughters.
"They'd be so beautiful if Ferdinand had gone home and met the guests one by one," Camila thought, certain that the conglomerate's line of daughters must have another purpose for attending this party.
"Excuse me ma'am." A panting servsnt approached Camila.
"What's wrong?" asked Camila, surprised that an ordinary servant would barge into the main area of the Johansson residence without asking permission. The servant didn't immediately answer her circulating gaze, realizing the people around were watching her chat with the Madame.
"Is Ferdinand here yet?" asked Camila curiously.
"No ma'am," the servant replied softly. Camila impatiently took the servant's hand and walked quickly away from the noisy main room of the party to the end of the hallway near the kitchen.
"Don't keep me waiting so tell me clearly!" Camila ordered feeling her heart growing more and more mixed between anxiety, annoyance and impatience.
"There are police ma'am," the servant replied nervously.
"Don't joke because my family has never had any dealings with the law," Camila explained unhappily.
"But in front of this house there are obviously two policemen waiting to see Mr. Levin," the servant explained carefully.
"My premonition is getting worse now you better find my nephew and bring him here!" Camila was worried that the police would arrest her husband.
"Okay." The waitress hurried away, but before she could re-enter the party room the person she was looking for appeared.
"Why did Camila bring you here?" asked Andie, looking suspiciously at the corner of her eye as she searched for something in the darkness of the hallway leading to the kitchen.
"Because something happened and Madame Camila wants to see you there now." The servant pointed out Camila's whereabouts at the end of the hallway as Andie hurried to find her.
"What's wrong with you aunt Camila?" asked Andie in surprise.
"Please meet the police in front of the house to explain that Levin is not there, don't let any guests know it will be a big news story on the news, it would be embarrassing if it is proven that this family member is involved in criminal matters," Camila explained.
"Alright I'll take care of it now calm your mind and feelings auntie!" Andie walked as usual so as not to attract the attention of the guests who were enjoying the party.
"Are you Mr. Levin?" asked a policeman when Andie asked to shake hands.
"I'm sorry, but Mr. Levin is very busy so if there's anything you can tell me," Andie said firmly.
"Who are you?" The policeman looked confused.
"My name is Andie, Mr. Levin's nephew," he replied quickly.
"It doesn't matter because you're a member of his family so we're here to give you news about an accident in the Interlaken area tonight and found an identity in the name of Ferdinand Johansson," the policeman said.
"Ferdinand was in an accident, so how is he?" Andie sounded shocked and worried.
"I'm sorry, but we have to give you the bad news that the victim is unlikely to survive as his car had caught fire before falling into the river," the policeman explained.
"So my cousin Ferdinand can't be saved?!" Andie shouted slightly.
"Yes." Hearing the police's answer so confidently made Andie squeeze his hair like a very lost person and immediately ran into the house, not caring about some guests who were accidentally hit by him.
"Some say that Ferdinand is every woman's dream man," Camila said, making small talk with one of her husband's business colleagues to ease the anxiety of waiting so long to hear from Andie.
"That's true, even if I was young I would have idolized your son," complimented the woman who still looked beautiful at the age of forty-five.
"Apparently Aunt Camila is here," Andie interrupted.
"One moment." Camila excused herself from her guests and engaged Andie in a one-on-one conversation.
"Listen, I have some bad news from the two policemen that Ferdinand has been in an accident," Andie explained, causing the guests to whisper and turn to Camila.
"Don't joke around at a time like this Andie?!" snapped Camila with a forced smile thinking her nephew was telling a joke.
"The two policemen told us that Ferdinand had an accident and he couldn't be saved." Andie tried to explain carefully.
"Don't talk nonsense, there's no way Ferdinand would leave me!" Camila screamed hysterically, pushing Andie's body so hard that the musicians told each other to stop the beat for a while until things calmed down.
"I don't believe it either, but that's what the police told my aunt Camila," said Andie.
"You must be crazy Andie!" Camila shouted even louder and her eyes began to tear up because she couldn't accept the bad news about her son.
Levinhappened to be about to return to mingle with the guests surprised by the sound of Camila's screams and immediately rushed to meet his wife downstairs in a hurry without caring that his steps could hurt him at any time.
"Camila?!" called Levin as he descended the stairs. Camila screamed and cried so much that Andie didn't know what to do to win over his aunt."Sorry uncle, I just had some bad news to tell aunt Camila," Andie explained as Levin approached."What's the bad news?" asked Levin curiously with a questioning look in his eyes and a tinge of embarrassment at the guests for the uproar that had occurred."Ferdinand had an accident and the possibility of his body not being saved is uncle Levin," said Andie.Levin's pair of eyeballs instantly widened even as his mouth was still locked speechless while his heart felt a hard pounding making it difficult for him to breathe."The police are giving me information and they're still out front," Andie continued."You don't mess around Andie, they must be the wrong people!" snapped Levin with a hardened jaw, his heart was in so much pain that he was gasping for air."Are you alright uncle?" Andie noticed the change in Levin's face."You can't just stay he
"Alright then you can go home I'll have the driver pick you up now!" Andie turned off the phone. He exhaled thinking about Ferdinand's problems until now.The cold wind in Interlaken was getting colder so Margaretha had to spur her horse-drawn carriage towards her residence in Lauterbrunnen not far from the scene of Ferdinand's accident."What bad luck! I've wasted hours of my time, I should have just kept quiet and pretended that I didn't know anything about what happened earlier, now it's too late, how is this?" Margaretha babbled to herself endlessly with an agitated look.Margaretha went to Interlaken just to look for medicinal plants that were urgently needed but had not had time to look for them yet, she was caught up in an incident that she never expected at all. Her eyes, which were starting to sting from glaring at the greenery along the riverbank, suddenly lit up as the medicine she was looking for finally came into view."Thank goodness I finally found it," Margaretha said
"Servant, please take Auntie to her room!" Andie ordered one of the servants standing nearby."Yes, Mr. Andie. Camilla walked towards the main room upstairs with her hands clinging to the servant who escorted her. Her body felt so weak refusing to eat since yesterday."Let me get some food for Madame," the servant said after opening the door for Camilla."No! I don't want to eat, leave me alone," she refused as she closed the door. The servant could only bow obediently away from Camilla's room even though she was worried about her Ladyship's condition.Camilla locked herself in the room screaming as she grabbed a vase of flowers from the table and threw it at the large mirror attached to the dressing table, shattering it."No way! It's just a dream! It's just a dream!" The sound of her crying wailed filled the entire room. If she could, she wanted to chase away everyone who came and throw away all the bouquets lined up in front of the house because she believed Ferdinand was still ali
Andie came out of his office accompanied by Doni and all employees who passed by saluted. The sports car that only had a capacity for two passengers belonged to Ferdinand but was now used almost every day by Andie, not only the car but almost all of the Johansson family's luxury goods were free to use."So this is what rich people are like, huh?" Andie chuckled but her heart ached to use Ferdinand's former facilities.Ferdinand's health continued to progress quite well although the word for a quick recovery was still far away, after several months passed the man was still unable to get out of bed because his broken leg bones had not fully recovered. Margaretha brought warm water and a small towel to clean Ferdinand's body and compress some of the wounds."Ferdinand, I'm going to clean you," Margaretha said enthusiastically."Enough! I don't want you to do it!" snapped Ferdinand, as Margaretha's hand almost gently massaged his knee area."I'm sorry if you feel pain, your wounds are ba
Ferdinand was momentarily downcast, realizing that his condition was too weak to approach Andie to beat him up, it seemed that now was not the right time. Slowly Ferdinand ventured into the trunk of the car, although it felt too risky there was no other way to get away from Lauterbrunnen and return home."I think today is enough, then I will ask the contractor to immediately start the construction of this place which will be the most different tourist site from all that has ever existed at the foot of the Alps," Andie said while preparing to get into the car."Of course Sir, your name will be number one and no one will know that we have embezzled the funds," replied Doni while opening the door not realizing Ferdinand had entered first and then left the place."You are indeed wise Doni, a bigger prize will be waiting for you." Doni just smiled broadly in response to Andie's words. At Margaretha's modest house, she cheerfully rushed to the kitchen to prepare food for the two of them."F
"Sorry, here's a little food for you like you need," she said as he handed it over while watching Ferdinand. There was a sense of dread at the man's appearance, so shabby with long hair and a mustache and beard covering his face."Thank you," Ferdinand accepted it without looking directly at her."Well, if you'll excuse me," she said as he got into the car and drove away.Ferdinand held the package of bread with trembling hands because he couldn't hold back his hunger without waiting anymore, he immediately ate it until it was finished and the mineral water was gulped down. "He left? Even though I was going to say thank you, '' Ferdinand thought. After regaining his strength Ferdinand tried to enter the hospital so sure that just saying his father's name everyone would immediately deliver him to the room he was looking for."Hello, I'd like to see someone inside," Ferdinand said kindly."Excuse me sir, what do you need to come here?" asked the security guard at the lobby door."I wan
The woman smiled then hurried into the car silently watching from the rearview mirror as pity and the urge to give some money arose considering that just this afternoon the man had almost fainted from not eating."Excuse me, wait?" she called back downstairs and chased after Ferdinand."What's wrong, ma'am?" asked Ferdinand when he turned around."I'm sorry, before this is for you, please don't refuse, think of it as a service fee for car repairs," she coaxed, handing over some money."No need, thank you," Ferdinand politely declined."I'm sorry then I didn't mean to offend, well I'll excuse myself." The bill was put back into his wallet with a somewhat disappointed look."If you want to help me just give me a job," said Ferdinand, spontaneously daring to speak like that since he had been feeling uneasy thinking about how to live in this city with the current situation where everyone looked at him like a bum."So you're looking for a job? Are you serious?" the woman asked again."Yes
"Do you think this is a restaurant so you can eat as leisurely as you like? It's time to work!" he snapped, acting like a senior bullying a junior."Fine," Ferdinand replied shortly.Ferdinand wanted to keep his promise to work well so as not to disappoint the woman who helped him, after all he had to be able to maintain his position at this job until the mission to meet his father was accomplished. Ferdinand began to mop the hallway area mimicking the way the servants cleaned the house."This is crazy how tiring it is, do I have to do this job all the time?" he complained while still feeling the pain in his knee that had not yet recovered."Hey you?" called one of the security guards."Yes sir," Ferdinand replied after looking around and finally realizing it was him."Stay away from this area, clean up the other areas first as soon as Mr. Levin will come out to enjoy the morning air in the park!" the security officer ordered."Yes sir." Ferdinand backed away slowly while keeping his
