Chapter 9

"Do you think this is a restaurant so you can eat as leisurely as you like? It's time to work!" he snapped, acting like a senior bullying a junior.

"Fine," Ferdinand replied shortly.

Ferdinand wanted to keep his promise to work well so as not to disappoint the woman who helped him, after all he had to be able to maintain his position at this job until the mission to meet his father was accomplished. Ferdinand began to mop the hallway area mimicking the way the servants cleaned the house.

"This is crazy how tiring it is, do I have to do this job all the time?" he complained while still feeling the pain in his knee that had not yet recovered.

"Hey you?" called one of the security guards.

"Yes sir," Ferdinand replied after looking around and finally realizing it was him.

"Stay away from this area, clean up the other areas first as soon as Mr. Levin will come out to enjoy the morning air in the park!" the security officer ordered.

"Yes sir." Ferdinand backed away slowly while keeping his eyes pretending to clean the hallway area while continuing to observe from afar.

It had been a few days since Ferdinand felt stuck with his grueling routine to even meet with his father as there was no chance let alone clean his hospital room.

The security guards closely monitored when Ferdinand approached his body was searched before entering and only allowed to bring cleaning tools, several times Ferdinand intended to write a message on a paper that would secretly be slipped in the room but always failed.

"How can I say something to dad, there's no chance at all," Ferdinand said again while making his bed in a huff.

Today is his holiday schedule Ferdinand decided to go secretly to his house to find out what happened after he was considered dead, upon arrival Ferdinand hid near the back gate of the house wearing a mask and a work hat so that his identity would not be revealed.

He heard the sound of two people passing by so he decided to sneak away when he saw two servants entering the yard.

"Don't you feel that our work is harder now?" said one of the servants.

"Yes, we have to take care of a house this big with just the two of us when there used to be so many workers in this house. Ferdinand could see the frustration on the faces of the two servants as they poured out their hearts.

"I think I'm about to give up, if I had another job I would probably quit and leave this house," added the servant.

"If you quit, I'll quit too. My body can't take care of this house because the responsibility is so heavy with so many valuable items inside, while Mr. Andie doesn't want to add more employees to help us," complained the second maid equally annoyed.

"Moreover, Mrs. Camilla has also never returned to this house since choosing to live in an apartment near the hospital, we cannot complain to anyone and can only surrender to Mr. Andie's every decision. Ferdinand heard all the conversations between the two of them making his heart throb.

"I have to find mom's apartment, maybe this is the only way to tell about Andie and Doni, but she said it was close to the hospital, the buildings there are mostly owned by billionaires, so which building do you live in?" Ferdinand muttered when he returned to his workplace.

Ferdinand decided to go around all the apartment buildings that were most likely to be his mother's residence only within reach of where his father was being treated.

Elsewhere Andie had just returned to his luxurious home after being away for a few days having fun with the women he had hired when he got back to his room and went back to sleep.

"So tired," he said as she exhaled strongly.

Andie had just closed his eyes when Uncle Levin interrupted him and forced him to go to the hospital immediately.

"Andie, don't you remember your routine of visiting uncle?" he said over the phone.

"Yes uncle, Andie will arrive in an hour," he replied lazily. Uncle Levin simply turned off his cell phone, making Andie even more annoyed with the middle-aged man.

"What a nuisance! He's always managing my life when he should be respecting me because I'm the heir now, right Ferdinand?! That boy died in the river?" Andie complained after the phone call ended.

Andie hurriedly got ready, choosing to use his own sedan instead of Ferdinand's sports car because he wanted to continue sleeping during the trip in the back seat to reduce drowsiness. It only took an hour for Andie to arrive at the hospital and was immediately greeted by the security guards.

"How is uncle Levin?" Andie asked while holding his footsteps.

"There is no progress, Mr. Andie," he replied with his head down.

"Oh I see, if it can be like that forever," he said with a satisfied smile and stepped inside.

Andie had not noticed Ferdinand mopping the floor from a distance as the poor man stared hatefully, emotion even enveloping his heart, without realizing that his two feet were getting closer to Levin's infirmary.

"What are you doing here? Isn't it time to clean this room?" scolded one of the security guards who immediately restrained him.

"Sorry, I just saw some dirt stuck here," he pointed out as an excuse.

"Get out of here!" the man shouted again.

Ferdinand was again forced to retreat and could only observe from a distance despite being so curious about the conversation going on between his cousin and father.

"How is the company doing now Andie? Why am I getting so many bad reports from the finance director? Are you incompetent in managing it?" Levin's voice sounded angry after receiving several bad financial reports from the company.

"Sorry uncle, I've even won some big projects for the company, it's not that I'm incompetent, it's just that we need additional capital to continue to grow," Andie replied.

"I don't want to hear any excuses, I've given you all the trust that you should be able to take this company forward." Levin then started to look out of breath as if he was exhausted after scolding Andie.

"Are you okay?" asked Andie pretending to be worried.

"Take the medicine on the nightstand!" he said incoherently.

"Yes uncle," nodded Andie lazily even though he had been there for almost an hour hearing Levin's babbling made him eager to say goodbye home.

Outside Levin's hospital room a beautiful woman walked from the direction of the lobby looking hurriedly stepping her two feet at the same time Andie also came out with an annoyed face.

"Andie?!" she screeched.

"What are you doing here Clara?" Andie was surprised and greeted her.

"One of my relatives is hospitalized here and I wanted to visit him. Where were you yesterday-all day I kept trying to contact you but there was never an answer?" Clara asked with an annoyed look on her face.
