Chapter 6

The jewellery store manager was surprised by Claude's offer. Buying this jewellery store? He noticed Claude's modest appearance, unlike the other customers in fancy clothes. The manager wasn't sure if Claude had the money to buy even one piece of jewellery in this store.

The manager chuckled in response to Claude. "Are you kidding me? Don't waste my precious time on useless jokes!"

"I'm not joking, sir." Claude said with a serious face.

The manager, named Robert, shook his head. "Nonsense." He gave Asley a sharp look. "What an idiot. You're taking his words seriously? I came all the way down here just to respond to this joke? You can't work properly?"

"She's a fool, sir!" Another salesgirls shouted at Asley.

"No one wanted to serve that man earlier, but Asley came as a hero to serve him." They complained to Robert about Asley serving Claude.

"What did that man say earlier? Want to buy this shop?" The servants laughed at Asley and Claude. "They're both stupid!"

Claude did not feel angered by their remarks. He looked at Robert seriously. "I want to buy this shop. Just tell me how much?"

Robert was stunned. "You're out of your mind."

He shook his head, smiled faintly at Claude while girdling his loins. "You really want to know the price, huh. I'll tell you. The price of this shop is 85 million dollars. Can you afford it?"

That’s nearly 20% higher than the regular price.

Robert grinned, feeling confident that Claude would not be able to afford that price.

He knew this stupid young man would be scared away at once. After all, how could anyone buy a jewellery store for that much?

However, Claude nodded his head without any hesitation. "Alright, I'll buy it."

He just accepted it calmly, not afraid at all. Suddenly, it made everyone surprised.

"Is he serious?" the salesgirls behind them wondered.

"That's a fantastic price. He's really out of his mind." They shook their heads in disbelief at Claude.

Robert was silent. He stared at Claude, seeming like he’s trying to see him through.

Now he didn't feel unsure about Claude's identity. If Claude dared to say that, it meant that Claude was not a random person.

After all,he didn’t think that someone would be so stupid to fool him like this.

However, he couldn't decide on that. Robert finally decided to go to ask the director of this shop.

"Then, wait here for a moment." Robert waltzed away from them.

Robert got into the elevator, pressing the button directly to the floor where the store director was. All the way there, his head kept thinking about who Claude really was because, judging from Claude's appearance, the man didn't look like a rich man.

Robert arrived at the door of the director's office. He knocked gently. "Excuse me, sir. This is Robert."

The director, flirting with the sexy employee in the office, looked annoyed at being interrupted. "Yes, come in!"

Robert opened the door, immediately bowing his head. He felt a little uncomfortable about it. "Excuse me, sir. There are people downstairs who want to buy this store for 85 million dollars."

"What?" The old director was surprised to hear that. He was curious, who was the person who wanted to buy the store at that price?

The director immediately stood up and released his embrace on the female employee. He looked at Robert. "Do you know who the person is who wants to buy this shop?"

Robert shook his head slowly. "No, sir."

The old director girded his loins. "Why haven't we heard about this rich young man? Where is he now?"

"Downstairs, sir." Robert pointed towards the back where the elevator was.

"Come on, let's go there." The elderly director, named Alan, walked out of his office to meet Claude in person.

Alan and Robert got into the elevator. After they reached the main floor of the jewellery store, Robert immediately led him to where Claude was waiting.

"That's the man, sir." Robert pointed at Claude in a half-whispered tone of voice.

Alan frowned, looking at Claude's appearance. He felt he had been deceived. "Are you serious that that person is going to buy this shop?"

"That's right, sir. He agreed to buy this shop for 85 million dollars." Robert nodded, confirming it.

"You're trying to mess with me, aren't you?" Alan held back his anger. "Just look at that look. Are you so stupid that you can't tell if someone has money or not?"

Robert shook his head quickly. "I wouldn't dare to play a prank on you, sir. He looks like he's seriously saying he's willing to buy this shop. I raised the price by 20%, but he still agreed."

Alan approached Claude with a probing look in his eyes. "Are you the one who said you wanted to buy this shop?"

"Yes," Claude replied with a serious face.

Alan folded his arms across his chest. "Are you sure?"

"Yes," Claude answered briefly once again.

Alan was annoyed to hear that. He returned his attention to Claude's appearance, which did not look like a rich man. "Then, how are you going to pay for it? 85 million dollars. Do you really have that much money?"

The salesgirls, who thought like Alan and Robert, looked sarcastically at Claude. They shook their heads, of course he didn’t .

"Maybe he's just playing a prank on you, sir." The salesgirl behind them tried to heat things up.

"Yeah, it's impossible for someone like him to have that much money. Everyone can quickly judge him too. Just look at his appearance. Does such a person look like he has a lot of money?" The other salesgirls chimed in, which made Alan even more convinced that Claude had no money.

Alan raised his chin haughtily. "How? Do you have money?" He pointed his index finger in Claude's face. "If you make a fool out of me, I'll call security to kick you out of here!"

"Yeah, we should just call security. He's already disturbing the comfort of the customers here, sir." The salesgirls seemed content to stir things up.

Claude sneered, took out the black card in his pants pocket, holding it up in front of them. "I'll pay with this card now."

"Can a card prove anything? I own a card, too. Does it mean I can buy this store?" Someone chuckled.

"It could be someone else's card that he borrowed. Or maybe it's a blank card that he brought along to look cool."

"Maybe that guy is trying to trick us all!" The salesgirls accused Claude. It made the atmosphere tense.

"I'm not a cheater." Claude said firmly.

Alan was furious at Claude, feeling he had been mocked. "You want to cheat us with that card? You won't be able to!"

He approached Claude, about to snatch the card to throw it in the trash.

However, when Alan saw more clearly that there was a symbol there which was a unique mark with the image of the black dragon belonging to Claude's family on the black card, Alan's eyes widened even more.
