Chapter 5

Claude remembered that there were 100 million dollars on the black card. "So, I do come from a rich family?"

Claude looked at the store in front of him, it had been a long time since he had given a present to Olivia-his beautiful wife would definitely be very suitable for a good gift. Claude took a breath from his mouth, this was the first time he had walked into an expensive store, so he was a little nervous that he might make a mistake.

The salesgirl at the store he passed by greeted him kindly. "Good afternoon, please have a look around, sir. We have some nice things."

Claude continued to walk around, looking at bags, shoes, and clothes with famous brands. He didn't know those big brands at all. Claude couldn't decide which one to choose for Olivia's birthday present.

"That's very pretty." Claude stopped when he saw a ring in the jewellery store window.

Claude walked into the jewellery store and approached the display case with two employees chatting there. "Excuse me, I'd like to buy this ring. May I know how much it is?"

The salesgirls there gave Claude a glance, then ignored him. The clothes he was wearing looked rumpled and inexpensive. They were busy chatting as if Claude wasn't there.

"Excuse me." Claude greeted them again, but the two clerks were still chatting.

One of them whispered. "Isn't that guy dangerous if we just leave him alone?"

"Leave him alone. He's just a poor man who likes to watch from a distance. How could he possibly buy jewellery here anyway?" The other employee whispered back sarcastically, sneering at Claude, who still looked tacky looking at the jewellery display.

Claude felt awkward, but also irritated, but he tried to hold it down because he still wanted to get the gift for his wife. "Excuse me, I want to buy that ring. Could you please take it out?"

The two employees behind the counter looked at Claude sarcastically. They looked Claude up and down. "This ring is the most expensive one here. You won't be able to afford it."

The long-haired woman with the annoying face stood up. "Maybe you entered the wrong place. That place suits you better."

The salesgirl pointed at the accessories shop across from the jewellery store. They laughed at Claude.

Some of the employees there also laughed. "Yes, there you can buy a lot of jewelry accessories that are priced within your wallet!"

Claude exhaled, their condescending gazes making his expression cold.

"I walked into the right shop and wanted to buy the ring, you should have given me what I wanted right away."

"You're out of your mind. There, just go! We don't have time to serve you!"

They left, leaving Claude to serve the man who had just come in better dressed. Claude exhaled harshly at their attitude. Is it so difficult to buy something here?

Then his gaze was drawn to another waitress not serving a customer.

"Excuse me, I'd like to buy this ring." Claude pointed at the ring again.

The salesgirl seemed reluctant to serve Claude. She took out another ring from the display case and handed it to Claude without saying anything.

Claude shook his head. "No, but that one." Once again, he pointed at the ring he wanted.

Again, the salesgirl picked up another ring. "This?" Her tone sounded annoyed.

Claude again shook his head with a smile. "No." Claude was already pointing at the correct ring. "This ring."

The salesgirl was getting annoyed. "Are you trying to prank me on purpose? I've already picked up the ring you pointed to twice!"

"You took the wrong ring." Claude answered, staring at her coldly.

The salesgirl snorted in annoyance. "Do you have the money to buy a ring in this shop?"

The salesgirl in the shop laughed. "It's obvious from his appearance that he's poor. He can't afford to shop here."

"Poor people are so insecure!" The salesgirl threw the receipt book rudely in Claude's face.

Claude shook his head,. "You shouldn't be rude to your customers. "

"Customers?" The salesgirl grinned. "What kind of customer should I serve? If you don't have money, you should just leave!"

Another salesgirl arrived, wearing glasses with short hair, her hands clasped together in front of her. She had a sweet face with a whole body that looked sexy, many men liked her, and the other salesgirls were jealous of her.

She now looked nervous when facing Claude, but still smiled kindly. "Excuse me, is there anything I can do for you? Our shop stocks a wide range of jewelry. Everything is of the finest quality. I saw you pointing to this ring in the display case. May I know which ring you want?"

Claude nodded his head while pointing back towards the ring he liked. "I want to buy this ring."

The salesgirl smiled kindly. "Okay, just a moment, I'll take it out."

Claude watched as the salesgirl politely served him. The badge attached to the left side of the clerk's clothing read Asley's name.

Asley picked up the right ring pointed out by Claude. "Is it this one?"

Claude nodded his head, smiling, "Yes, it is. How much is it?"

"The price of this ring is ...." Before Asley could tell Claude how much the ring cost, her coworkers who were there laughed loudly, making her turn his head towards them.

"What a freak. Have you gone blind? Look at that guy's appearance. It's terrible. You can't pick the right customer!" One of the women ignoring Claude seemed content to mock Asley for serving Claude politely.

Even the couple being served by the two female clerks seemed to hate Claude and were unhappy with Claude's presence there. "So pretentious to ask the ring's price, when you don't have the money to buy it."

"Poor people have a lot of attitude." They acted arrogantly with haughty faces.

"Anyway, why did the security let a guy like him into the store? Did that man want to steal under the pretense of buying? Creepy." Other customers complained and were uncomfortable with Claude's presence.

"I can't believe it. The security in this store is so low that they let him in like that." The husband of the middle-aged woman who bought the jewellery looked sarcastically at Claude.

Hearing what those people said,Claude snorted and looked at Asley,. "Never mind them. Wrap up the ring for me."

Asley nodded her head politely. "Yes, sir.",then picked up the receipt book.

Claude, who was standing in front of Asley, spoke again. "I want to see your manager. Call him immediately."

Asley was a little surprised to hear that. "Ma-manager?"

"Yes. I'd like to see the manager of this shop," Claude repeated.

Asley nodded his head respectfully. "Yes, sir. I will call for you immediately. Please wait a moment." Asley left Claude's presence.

Meanwhile, the salesgirls there laughed and sneered at Claude. "What is that insane person going to do?"

"He wants to see the manager. What a lunatic."

Not long after, Asley arrived with the store manager. The store manager immediately approached Claude. "Can I help you?"

Claude looked at the manager. "I want to buy this store."
