Unwilling to be noticed by Martin, James went in the other direction, separating himself from the line for lunch. Jayden, who saw James leave, became confused. He called out to the man and asked where he was going.
"I need to use the restroom," James said simply.
The man continued to walk towards a room in the corner of the cafeteria. Martin seemed busy with his tablet, paying no attention to James's presence.
James stood before the basin, washing his hands with his eyes focused on the mirror before him. There were only two closed toilet doors; the remaining three were open.
