Augusto rubbed his eyes, uncertain how long he had been asleep. “Oh no, I must have missed the competition,” he said with a trembling voice, full of regret. The last thing he remembered was someone pressing his nose shut before he lost consciousness.

However, as he looked around, he rubbed his eyes again. "Where am I?" he said, scanning his surroundings.

It was a bed in a clean room. Before he could process where he was, his gaze fell upon a certificate on the nightstand. "Augusto Blackwood."

"I... won this competition?" As his hand reached for the trophy with his name on it, beneath it was a check for twenty thousand dollars.

Under the check was another piece of paper. "I hope your mother recovers soon."

Augusto couldn’t stop the tears flowing down from both corners of his eyes. "Thank you, sir. Whoever you are, I will never forget your kindness."

Meanwhile, elsewhere, Marc walked with a smile on his face, recalling everything he had experienced that day. "What a truly wo

At the edge of a pool in the backyard of a luxurious mansion in the heart of the city, three young men were sitting on a bench by the pool, each holding a glass of drink. “Boss, we've sent a few people to accompany Atticus. They should have taken care of that bastard named Marc by now,” Rowan said confidently. He had personally selected the four trained bodyguards earlier. “And I’ve given them weapons,” Caspian chimed in. “Not that I doubt the skills of these bodyguards, but wouldn’t it be more fun if they had to shoot Marc as he tries to run away, terrified out of his mind?” Caspian couldn’t help but laugh at the thought. Reed remained silent. Lying on a lounge chair, his face showed he hadn’t been able to shake off the frustration in his heart. “No one should mess with the Kensington family, or they’ll be destroyed. This kid has surely messed everything up.” After witnessing Atticus lose in the competition in such a humiliating way, the only thing that could ease his anger w

Five minutes before the clock struck midnight. "Everyone, get ready." The man, the leader of this team, opened three cases and ordered his members to grab their weapons and magazines. "We don't know who or what is inside. You are authorized to shoot if you feel threatened." Earlier, they had received intel and a briefing from Bachary. "One of their members is carrying an expensive painting, which is most likely stolen or embezzled property. Make sure to secure the painting or any other valuable items if you see them." As per Darla's orders, the team Bachary hired for this raid was a private security force with years of experience in field operations. Aside from rescuing hostages, they were also trained to neutralize armed threats. Dong-dong-dong! At exactly midnight, the sound of bells echoed. Out of nowhere, a thin mist began to envelop the entire area. Combined with the dim lighting of the place, their visibility became severely impaired. The security team was about to

The four security officers were now on the fourth floor, approaching Apartment 44 from two different directions. However, before the team leader could issue his next command, a scream echoed from below.“What’s going on?” Unable to see clearly due to the thickening fog, he contacted one of the snipers stationed in the vehicle.“My view is also obstructed by the fog. Requesting permission to step out?”“No, stay where you are.”The team leader was about to order two of his subordinates to investigate the commotion when he heard something unusual.“What’s that sound?” he muttered, lowering his ear closer to the ground. Through the dense fog, he caught a noise that resembled the sound of a wild animal devouring its prey.Moments later, something leaped out from the mist and landed directly in front of him.“W-what is that?” Reflexively, all the security officers aimed their weapons at the figure that had just emerged. As they took a closer look, their bodies began to tremble. “T-this is…

Eight years ago.“What is this?”Marc had just returned from fetching water at the mountain's peak when he noticed blood splattered across the ground. His instincts screamed danger as he set down the wooden bucket slung over his back and picked up a large branch from the pile nearby.Following the blood trail, he arrived at the chicken coop, its door ajar. His heart trembled with dread as he saw several headless chickens lying lifeless on the ground.Pushing the coop door wide open, Marc crept inside and saw a figure crouching on the ground, facing away from him.“Who’s there?” Marc tightened his grip on the branch in his hand. “Sir, what are you doing there?” he asked cautiously, stepping closer. The figure showed no sign of hearing him and continued its actions, still facing away from Marc.“Please, get out of here.” Marc's voice trembled as he stood less than a meter away from the figure. His body quivered, ready to swing the branch in his hands.“Sir…” Marc tried to issue one fina

“You...” Mya glared at Marc, shaking her still-numb hand in frustration. Yet, behind her rage, a look of sheer disbelief was evident in her eyes. When Marc managed to defend himself against her attack, the girl initially thought it was just a trick. But seeing his eyes return to normal left her utterly confused. "How did he break free from my spell?" she wondered.Mya had used the same spell to control the minds of hundreds of goblins, and it worked perfectly. But when it came to this seemingly ordinary young man, Marc, why did the spell fail?"But, of course, you won't get the chance to escape," Marc said coldly, pointing a finger at the goblins. "Because just like them…" His tone sharpened. "You must be punished too!"Having been curious about the mystery behind the chaos in Greencliff Village, Marc had finally pieced it together. “You’ve used these goblins to attack the villagers. Your actions are unforgivable!”“Hah! A child like you lecturing me?” Mya sneered, her tone dripping w

Two days earlier."I could have caught that thief by myself. But since you’re all here, let me show you how it’s done," said Jonas to the bodyguards behind him, tucking the pistol he had just cocked back into his waistband."Just watch—I’ll take this thief down with my bare hands!" Jonas quickened his pace as the edge of the forest came into view. He was convinced that Marc’s hint meant the thief was hiding in the woods. And the fact that Marc had returned safely suggested the thief was likely just an amateur.“They’re here at the perfect time,” Jonas thought, glancing back at the still-tense bodyguards. “I’ll amaze them with what I can do,” he mused, a broad, self-satisfied smile spreading across his face. Before becoming the Brown family’s butler, Jonas had been a martial artist who had earned a black belt. “One person? I could take on ten all by myself.” His eyes gleamed with confidence. If he could impress these bodyguards, it would be a great way to show off in front of the mayor

Speak clearly, what’s happening?” Bachary shouted into his phone, his face tense as he listened to the panicked voice on the other end.“Th-they… they’re not human, sir.” A soldier’s weak voice came through, mixed with screams and gunfire in the background.“What do you mean? Explain yourself!” But before Bachary could get more information, the call was abruptly cut off. The last thing he heard was the sound of something heavy stomping on the soldier’s phone.“Bachary, what’s going on?” Darla, who had just stepped out of the armory wearing a black uniform and a bulletproof vest, asked with a frown, her face full of questions. “Has something happened to them?”“It seems the Alpha team has failed, my lady.” Bachary let out a long sigh, trying to steady his emotions. Although he didn’t have a clear picture of what had happened to the team, he was certain they were in serious trouble.“Then what are we waiting for? Send in the Bra

Behind the gas mask covering her face, Darla's expression burned with rage. "Daring to endanger innocent lives—you all deserve to die!""My lady…" Bachary, her butler, hesitated, stepping forward to stop her. He wanted to remind her that, no matter how grave their crimes were, these people deserved a trial. An immediate execution would violate the law. However, before Bachary could finish, Darla raised her hand, signaling him to halt."You still have the nerve to act arrogant, ignoring our presence," she continued, her steps slow and deliberate as she moved toward Marc, finger poised on the trigger. Marc’s back remained turned to Darla and her team, a gesture she read as blatant disrespect. "Let’s see if your arrogance can save your head from my bullet.""Lady Darla, please allo

They surged like a tidal wave of predators—wild, relentless, fearless.Bang! Bang! Bang!Rattatatat! Rattatatat!Down below, chaos reigned. His soldiers, led by several trusted lieutenant colonels, were panicked and disorganized. Most were shooting blindly, spraying bullets like rookies who'd never held a gun before.Elliot could see the fear had swallowed them whole. These troops were seasoned, sure. But fighting bloodthirsty creatures that moved like cheetahs, leaping through the air with inhuman speed and agility? This was new territory. And it was deadly.“Savage freaks!”Elliot clenched his jaw tight. He had to act—now—or he’d watch his army get wiped out.Hovering two hundred meters above the battlefield, he gathered a

But goblins? This was a first. He’d always believed goblins were nothing more than bedtime horror stories meant to scare little kids. Yet here they were, right in front of his eyes.Roar!Across the courtyard, around thirty goblins crouched in a semi-circle, feasting on a deer carcass. “No. That won’t be necessary.”Elliot shook his head firmly, brushing off the lieutenant colonel’s suggestion to send scouts ahead.“The soldiers haven’t been home in two months. They’ve got families waiting for them. I want them going home in one piece, so I’ll handle this myself.”Elliot wasn’t just a commanding officer, he cared. Deeply. To him, his men weren’t pawns to be sacrificed. They were warriors with lives worth protecting. And if there was a mission only he could take on, he’d never throw someone else into the fire for it.He already had twenty injured under his command. That number was more than enough. And frankly, this final group of fugitives? Just a low-level gang. Nobodies. Not even on the elite threat list. With his cultivation level, it shouldn't be more than a quick cleanup job, capture or kill.Handing his binoculars over to the lieutenant colonel, Elliot stepped forward, his pace steady but alert.“General, then at least let me go with you.”The lieutenant colon

We’re begging you—have mercy!"But Elliot didn’t even flinch. His expression remained cold, unmoved. He stepped down from the podium and slowly walked toward the mayor, who lay sprawled on the ground, trembling."You still have the nerve to say that now?"Elliot’s tone stayed level, but the restrained fury behind his voice was impossible to miss."Where was all this remorse a year ago? Didn’t I make it clear that this punishment should’ve been carried out back then? You had your chance. I gave you time. So why didn’t you take it?"His words sliced through the silence like a blade. Despite the weight of what he was saying, Elliot’s face remained stone cold.A year ago, the crimes these men committed warranted nothing short of death. B

"Grizelda, what are you talking about?"The man, Elliot, fired back with a puzzled look on his face. His tone was laced with disbelief, like her accusation had come out of nowhere."Open your eyes—and your mind. You're making baseless claims. And really, how could you forget something so important?"His expression hardened as he locked eyes with her. Whatever this was, Elliot wasn’t treating it lightly."Let me remind you of the blood pact we made: no human is allowed to cross the Pennigor Mountains without permission. Anyone who does... dies."The Pennigor Mountains stretched across the southern edge of Cammont County, separating it from the massive Eldrador Forest. Since Cammont was the southernmost region of Walenstein Province, the mountains also served as a border to Brynmor, the neighboring province. But truth be told, most people in Walenstein didn’t even consider Eldrador—or Brynmor for that matter—part of the Lanshire Kingdom. Why? Because the people there acted more like bea

"You keep going on and on about revenge—like I owe you something for those goblins—without even thinking about what they did to the human race."Marc's voice echoed from inside the inn’s lobby, each word growing louder as he stepped closer to Grizelda."Don’t you get it? By standing up for them, you're just as guilty as the ones who tore this place apart. You're not some noble leader—you’re just another monster hiding behind a cause!"As he spat out the last word, Marc stepped fully into view through the shattered remains of the lobby’s doorway.Blood trickled from the corners of his mouth, and his right arm hung limply at his side, a faint wisp of smoke still curling from it. No need for a closer look—anyone could see his arm was badly damaged. His shallow, ragged breathing and the pain etched across his face hinted at deeper internal injuries. Still, the fire in his eyes never faded. There was no fear in them, no sign of surrender—just raw, unshakable resolve."So go on. Do it. Hit

Rising from the ground, a dark aura surged around Grizelda’s body—thick, ominous, and freezing cold. It didn’t just look dangerous. The air around her turned icy, as if the very atmosphere might shatter from the chill she exhaled.“We goblins never lie,” she said coldly. “And we don’t tolerate lies from others.”The moment she spoke, she vanished—only to reappear instantly, right in front of Marc.“You really are a snake,” she hissed. “You slaughtered my people, and now you have the audacity to trick me? You’re going to die for that.”Her hand shot forward—straight for his throat.Marc’s eyes went wide. What the hell? he thought, heart racing. "I know exactly what you're trying to do. You're just playing games with me, aren't you?"Marc scoffed at Grizelda.Even if she let him hit her a hundred times, it wouldn't matter. She was simply too strong. And Marc was running out of ideas."You're talking too much," Grizelda said coldly, flashing a wide, confident grin. Whether Marc landed a hit or not, she didn’t care. She was already convinced he wouldn’t even come close."Go on. Try. Hit me again. Don’t waste my time."Marc didn’t reply. He had to make them count."Alright... let’s do this," he muttered.Taking a deep breath, Marc made a bold decision. "You can read my mind?"Marc narrowed his eyes, staring at Grizelda with a mix of shock and curiosity. He didn’t move his lips—just sent the question straight from his thoughts, trying to confirm his growing suspicion: could this goblin leader really hear what he was thinking? You can talk back to me like this too?Grizelda mirrored his expression, surprised herself. She’d always been able to reach into others’ thoughts—but never had she met someone who could respond to her telepathically. That changed how she saw Marc."Telepathy like this? Piece of cake," Marc replied casually, still speaking with his mind. "But let’s be real—you wouldn’t be able to do it if I didn’t let you in, right?"He wasn’t wrong. Grizelda could hear his thoughts only because he hadn't raised his mental barriers. If he had, she wouldn’t be able to break through, no matter how strong her abilities were."You're right.
