"What? What did I just hear?" Leonie couldn’t hide the shock on her face, though her scream of disbelief remained trapped in her heart. Marc is the richest young man in Cammont? Her suspicions felt validated. So I was right—he’s deliberately hiding his true identity!

“M-Marc, oh, I mean, Mr. Belmont, thank you for helping us. We won’t forget your kindness, and we’re willing to do whatever we can whenever you need it,” Leonie said in a highly polite tone, bowing her head occasionally.

“Not just all of Cammont—I’m the richest young man in the entire kingdom of Lanshire!” Marc declared, paying no attention to Leonie’s words. His gaze turned upward toward the car window, his chest puffing out proudly. “I’ll even be king of this kingdom one day!”

Leonie turned to Sasha, confusion written all over her face. What is happening? she mouthed silently to her daughter, bewildered by Marc’s peculiar behavior.

“I have no idea,” Sasha replied, shrugging both shoulders, equally perplexed. To her, Mar

Marc was still contemplating Randolph's motives when the car they were in passed through the inn's gates."Home sweet home!" Sasha exclaimed spontaneously as she stepped out of the car. After months of feeling like she was in hell at her own home, weighed down by one family problem after another, she found immense comfort here at the inn. Her expression made it clear—she felt like she was truly home.Sniff, sniff. At the same time, Marc's nose caught a familiar scent—the foul stench of flesh-eating creatures."Mrs. Griffin, Sasha, quickly get inside and lock the lobby door!" Marc ordered sharply, his serious gaze fixed on a distant point in the hills."Marc, what's going on?" Leonie asked, noticing that the young man's face was devoid of the playful expression he just wore."It seems we're about to have some visitors," Marc replied, narrowing his eyes as if spotting something far off. "No matter what happens or who tries to get in, except if it's me, don't open the door. Now, go!""Hm

Meanwhile, inside the inn."I wonder who this person is that made Marc insist we lock the doors?" From the fourth-floor window, Leonie peeked through the slightly parted curtains, gazing at the courtyard below."Mom, isn’t that dangerous?" Sasha hesitated, reluctant to sit beside her mother. Although she dared not question Marc's words, she couldn’t hide her curiosity about who the young man was about to face."Marc only told us to lock the door. What’s wrong with taking a peek? Come here, sit with me," Leonie urged.Looking down at Marc, who stood alone in the courtyard, there was no sign of fear on the women’s faces. But that didn’t last long."Oh my God! Oh my God! Who are they?" Reflexively clinging to each other, Leonie and Sasha's expressions instantly turned tense."Did you see their faces?" Leonie whispered, her eyes fixed on Vasile and the goblins standing behind him. "How can there be humans that pale?"These two women weren’t exactly fans of horror movies, though they occas

"Aaaargh!"On the fourth floor, Leonie immediately pulled her daughter’s face away from the window as the shockwave from the collision of two fists in the courtyard spread in all directions, its impact far greater than before. The lobby windows and several room windows in the inn shattered, including the one in the room occupied by the two women."Our Father in Heaven, may You show Your power and protect us." Holding her daughter tightly, Leonie stepped away from the window, her lips moving in constant prayer. What was happening tonight was far more terrifying than anything they had ever experienced in their lives. "Grant us the strength to endure all of this."The shockwave didn’t just shatter the windows; it also created small cracks in the walls. A sedan parked in the courtyard was pushed several meters, all its windows shattered.Judging by the scale of the destruction, Marc’s punch should have been enough to knock Vasile back and bring him down. Yet, a few seconds later, the youn

"Hey, you pale and ugly creature, are you going to keep laughing like that until you die?" A light, mocking voice rang in Vasile's ears as the vampire closed his eyes, overwhelmed by the joy surging through him. How could he not be delighted? Vasile had already envisioned the grand rewards and high position he might receive from Duke Dragusin once he completed this task. However, the mocking voice managed to irritate him despite his jubilation. "Huh, until I die, you say? How dare you say such a thing when you're the one about to die soon!" Opening his eyes, Vasile frowned as he saw no one in front of him. He scanned the area, searching for Marc, but found nothing. "What are you looking for?" Marc's voice echoed again, not far ahead. "How is it that you can’t see properly?" Frustrated by Marc's taunts, Vasile could no longer suppress his anger. "Are all humans as weak and cowardly as you? Stop playing games and face me!" No response came for ten seconds until a light breath tickle

"Mrs. Griffin, are you alright?" Marc hurried toward Leonie, who was sitting at the lobby entrance with Sasha. Not only did their faces look utterly shocked, but their appearances were also in complete disarray. Their hair stood on end like they had just been electrocuted, and their makeup was smudged beyond recognition. If the situation were less dire, Marc might have laughed at how they resembled people who had been abandoned and left to go mad for years."Marc... they're not human, are they?" With eyes wide in shock, Leonie asked Marc while glancing at the goblin corpses scattered across the floor."Hmmm..." Marc nodded. "They're goblins—man-eating creatures." Truthfully, Marc didn’t want to explain further. But the fact that Leonie had asked such a question showed she had already witnessed too much. "But you don’t need to worry; I’ve taken care of all of them.""Mrs. Griffin, Sasha, stay inside while I bury the goblin corpses. I need to do this quickly since their bodies are highl

  • The Majestic Heir    Chapter 65 - A Morning Call

"BLARE-BLARE!"The blaring sound of a trumpet filled the room as Marc lazily opened his eyes, stretching one arm toward the small table beside his bed. "Who’s calling this early?" he muttered, pressing the "Answer" button with mild irritation."Good morning, Master Tilcott. May happiness always be with you." The raspy, deep voice of an old man on the other end sounded unusually cheerful, though it didn’t ease the annoyance in Marc’s chest. "Do you still remember me?"Before Marc could respond and explain that he wasn’t Helma, the old man continued. "This is Tenzin of the White Lotus Monastery. I couldn’t wait to share some wonderful news with you."Four months ago, Helma had visited the largest monastery in Cammont after being summoned by one of the monks, who had requested the master healer's help to treat their abbot, who had suddenly become paralyzed."Don’t worry. It’s just a case of severe exhaustion. With the medicine I’ve provided, Abbot Tenzin will recover fully in four months

Three hours later, in the Asheville district, a cool mountainous area in the southern region of Cammont.“Honestly, I feel reluctant to part with this item.” A ninety-year-old monk took a small box out of his robe pocket and placed it on the small table in front of him. About the size of a ring box, it was covered in purple velvet. “But since I promised Master Tilcott, I must keep my word.”Marc stared at the box briefly. “It looks exactly like mine,” he thought. “Could there really be many relics like this scattered throughout the kingdom?” Even so, he didn’t linger on it and reached out to take the box.“Your Reverence, I greatly appreciate your kindness.” Marc bowed his head slightly to show respect. “I will keep this box safe and deliver it to Master Tilcott.”But before Marc could take the box, the abbot placed his palm firmly on it.“Mr. Belmont, I never said you could take it immediately.”“What do you mean?” Marc frowned.“Before this box leaves the monastery, I must first see

One hour earlier."Sir, is this really the path to the White Lotus Monastery?" Marc asked an old farmer resting at the edge of his field. The narrow trail ahead was not only steep but also littered with large stones. It was no surprise that no GPS service had mapped the area this far. However, this was hardly an issue for Marc. With the zhenqi coursing through his body, even if he had to walk ten times farther than the usual route, he wouldn’t feel the slightest fatigue."Yes, you’re correct." The old man, shirtless and drenched in sweat, nodded his head. Hearing Marc’s question, his expression suddenly turned serious. "Young man, where are you from? Did your parents send you to go up there?""Well..." Before Marc could finish his sentence, the old man interrupted. "Please listen to me—for your own safety, you should turn back and never set foot in that monastery.""What do you mean?" Marc furrowed his brows."Sit down, and I’ll explain everything to you." The old man grabbed Marc’s s

“Why did you do that?”The sniper's face—crushed beneath Marvel’s boot—was now an unrecognizable mess. But instead of looking pleased, the gangster boss stared at the young woman with a cold, piercing glare. Leah’s actions hadn’t satisfied him—they’d only raised questions.“Tell me why you shot him.”“Oh, come on. What are you even talking about?”Leah, the woman who had just appeared and gunned down the sniper without hesitation, shrugged casually. Her expression was calm, almost bored.“Why would I need your permission to kill someone who was getting in our way? Obviously, I had to take him out.”“Really? That’s your story?”Marvel narrowed his eyes, the intensity in his gaze sharpening like a blade. He studied her carefully, like a predator sizing up an unfamiliar threat.“Tell me—are you hiding something from me?”“Hufff... You're seriously paranoid.”Leah waved him off, shaking her head in exasperation, as if swatting away a pointless accusation.“Why would I do that? We came her

He shouldn't have been able to hear those shots—just like the subordinates of his who’d already ended up dead. And yet, out of nowhere, the man suddenly raised both arms the exact moment the shots were fired.Tap! Tap!With lightning speed, he swatted the two bullets away before they could lodge in his chest, deflecting them in random directions.“All you know is how to sneak around and take potshots, huh?” he growled, eyes narrowing toward a specific spot beyond the shrubs. He'd already figured out where the shots were coming from.“You’re not getting away. You’re going to pay for what you did.”Thup! “B-But…”One of the Scorpion members hesitated, his eyes locked on Bulldog, unwilling to look away for even a second.Up until now, whenever the fat man gave an order, not a single member of the gang ever questioned it—let alone defied it. That included him.But this time... the risk was just too high.Just moments ago, twenty men Bulldog had sent ahead were left sprawled on the ground with bullet holes in their heads—dead. If he and the remaining eighty-nine gang members charged blindly into the brush, they’d likely suffer the same fate.“Wouldn’t it be better if we regrouped and came up with a plan? Charging ahead like this is too dangerous.”He finally voiced the thought gnawing at his mind.“Idiot! What the hell do you know?” Bulldog snapped, lifting one hand like he was about to slap the man, but stopping short. “You think you’ve got a better plan than me, huh?”“Just go! Take everyone and move out! I don’t wanna hear another word. I want that bastard caught, and I want it now!”

Several members of Scorpion raised their weapons and unleashed a hail of bullets into the bushes. The deafening exchange of gunfire turned the atmosphere into something straight out of a warzone. While the thugs seemed to relish the chaos, the workers nearby were the exact opposite. Unaccustomed to the sound of gunfire, they pressed their hands tightly over their ears, cowering on the ground. It wasn’t even the full barrage—it only took a single gunshot to leave their ears ringing. “There’s only one option left. Get out of here before your regrets become completely useless!”Leonie’s voice rang out—firm, loud, and laced with unwavering confidence. She was absolutely certain her threat would have an effect. But maybe her daughter had been right. Bulldog and the rest of the Scorpion gang weren’t the kind of people you could scare off with bold words. They were the underworld’s ruling power in this city.Naturally, they didn’t feel fear. If anything, they were pissed.“You bitch! You think we’re some kids you can scare with your mouth? What an insult! And yelling at our boss? You just signed your death warrant!”One of the gang members glared at Leonie, pointing the end of his weapon straight at her.He didn’t care who owned this inn. Even if it belonged to a baron, it made no difference. In his world, power was the only law. And the Scorpions had enough firepower to take on both the city’s nobles and its government.“Hell yeah! “Don’t even think about resisting—or I swear, I’ll make your lives a living hell!”The voice belonged to a heavyset man known only as Bulldog. Towering and broad, he led a gang of punk-styled men as they dragged hundreds of people onto the front lawn of the Greencliff Inn, forcing them to kneel in the dirt. True to his nickname, Bulldog not only had a massive build but a brutal face, almost completely covered in tattoos that only added to his menacing appearance. The people being rounded up looked terrified. They were workers from the construction project to rebuild this abandoned village. None of them had any clue why they were being dragged out like this in the dead of night.“I said don’t move, you idiot!”Bulldog roared, slamming the butt of his pistol into the head of a laborer who was too slow to kneel. The man crumpled to the ground, blood pouring from his head before he lost consciousness.“Let me make this clear. One more time.”Bulldog swept his gaze across the workers, his
