Though he was angry, he did not say anything back about it.
He was visibly wary of Caesar during his conversation while also showing a hint of displeasure towards him.
He clearly had a contradictory attitude towards Caesar that anyone would have been confused looking at him.
"There is an accident at my home," The neighbor said.
"Do I look like I care?" Caesar asked back. Why did this weirdo come to complain about some accident at his home to him?
The neighbor was furious at his attitude again, "Who asked for your stupid care?"
Caesar really did not want to deal with this stupid man any longer. Without saying anything, he pushed his door in order to close it on the other man's face.
Before he could accomplish the task, the neighbor placed his leg in between the door and pushed it using his body making it difficult to close it.
Now it was Caesar's turn to be furious as he roared out loud, "What do you want?"
"Why are you closing the door to my face? I have not finished talking yet."
"If you have something 'important' to tell me, then speak fast and get out of my sight," Caesar stressed out the word important as he really was not interested in listening to his nonsense any longer.
The neighbor took a deep breath to calm himself before he spoke, "Something from your yard rammed into the compound wall that we share. I want to check your backyard once to see what exactly happened."
Caesar blinked his eyes twice before he understood what the weirdo was talking about.
"Okay, come inside," Caesar moved aside, giving way for him to come.
If he wants to see it, let him see it. It is not like he was afraid of problems. In the past few years, he was already used to all sorts of problems that any person could ever face.
The neighbor was surprised that Caesar dared to invite him in. He had thought that he would not dare to do so before he came here. That was the reason he had banged on the door so hard earlier.
After all, how could someone who destroyed his property stay there and allow him to attack back?
As they were walking towards the backyard, they passed through the spot where Hearthe had just 'repaired'.
As soon as his eyes fell on the repaired place, the neighbor froze in his spot as his eyes were awestruck looking at the intricate design.
His mouth went wide open as he looked on for a long time until Caesar shook him with impatience.
"Caesar, how did you get such a beautiful piece of art? Why didn't I know that you are rich enough to afford such a costly piece?"
"When did it become my job to tell you everything about me?" Caesar asked in irritation.
Though he was proud of Hearthe for producing the decorative piece, he did not like how this weirdo was speaking as if he had to tell him everything about himself.
That is when the neighbor came back to his senses. They had long been apart and they would not speak about themselves with each other.
It is obvious that Caesar would not say anything about himself to him. It is just in the moment of awe that he had asked such a question.
Yet, he was still curious about how Caesar had suddenly gotten rich.
Even if they were not in contact, it did not mean that he would not know if his neighbor got rich, right?
They were living in a small village nonetheless. Even if an ant dies in a house, the news would spread to each and every family in the village.
It doesn't matter if everyone was on speaking terms or not. The news would just miraculously travel through all the ears. One could never describe the process though.
It just happens and that's all.
That is the power of gossip in small villages.
The neighbor wanted to know more but he was also afraid of Caesar for some reason. He wouldn't dare to ask him any more questions. Hence she shut his mouth and followed Caesar towards the backyard.
As they were walking, the neighbor found a piece of chewed up root on the ground.
Though he had thought of not asking Caesar any questions just a second ago, he is still not a person who could actually shut his mouth.
His curiosity thus won over him and he asked, "Caesar, did you get any pets? Why didn't I know?" Once he asked the second part he recalled their previous conversation and changed his words again, "I mean, which pet did you get? I didn't hear any barks or any other sounds from my house all these days after all. Is that pet the one that had rammed into our compound wall?"
While he was asking, he did not notice Caesar's expression which was darkening every time he addressed Hearthe as a 'pet'.
He did not notice Caesar's expression which was darkening every time he addressed Hearthe as a 'pet'.How could a random man address his lovely and adorable daughter as a mere pet?The neighbor, however, did not mind nor care about the lack of reply as he continued looking around in search of the so-called new pet that Caesar had got. After all, there are more than eighty percent of chances that this pet was the one responsible for destroying the compound wall of their house. The wall, which had always been the best background one could get for his picturesque garden, was now rammed into, almost broken and was full of cracks making it look gruesome. To make his garden look even more beautiful, he had called the best painter in the town nearby and got him to paint with beautiful and exotic plants and flowers all over it.After paying so much money, his wall made the perfect background for his garden.Yet today once he got home after work, he found it shattered with a few pieces of bric
"Do you see that?"Caesar tilted his head sideways and looked at him innocently, "What do you want me to see?""..." Is he the only one who is worried about the wall? Why can't this man give a better reaction? The neighbor really did not understand the thoughts of Caesar."Just look at the wall. It is very clear that it was destroyed from your side. Don't you have anything to say?" The neighbor asked in exasperation.Caesar lazily looked at the wall, which was very clear to any naked eye that it was rammed into from this side of the wall, before he replied with a very very lazy, "Ohh.""..." The neighbor was dumbstruck by the lack of reaction from the man, "Ohh? What do you mean by ohh? Are you an idiot?"To his furious question, Caesar didn't even care to reply as he casually looked at all the trees and vines around him. He looked very proud when his eyes were on them as they reminded of the powers of Hearthe. The neighbor felt like he was punching a cotton wall, when he saw the lack
Dark. That is what Caesar saw through his eyes. The anger in his heart made him unable to look at anything else but dark. How dare this man call his adorable daughter 'ugly'?How could his cute daughter and the word 'ugly' stand in the same sentence if not for describing antonyms? The veins in his hand started protruding as he clenched his fist tighter recalling how the weird man spoke about his daughter. The neighbor, being silly and weird that he was, did not observe the changes in Caesar's reaction and continued speaking his heart out, "Where did you even get this weird thing from? It looks not only ugly but also creepy. One look at it and one would lose their sleep for so many nights. How were you able to sleep at night after getting this thing as a pet, huh?"Didn't you get nightmares? If I were you, I would have killed this thing long ago, burned it and threw its ashes in the toilet so that my eyes would become cleaner. Let me give you some friendly advice, alright? Just kill th
"Sorry? If you say a simple word of sorry, would the hurt you gave my daughter's heart be lessened? How could one word be enough to relieve my daughter's suffering, huh?" Caesar did not budge with his words of pleas and asked back. The neighbor is not in a position to think of anything at this moment. His hearing was already lost and was on the verge of losing consciousness.Looking at his struggle, Caesar's heart felt a sense of satisfaction. How dare this man speak such ill words about his lovely daughter? This is the punishment for anyone who spoke a word against his daughter. The hate he had towards the man continued increasing as he recalled all the words the man just spoke.'Kill Hearthe? Burn her? Throw her ashes in the toilet?'Every word came back to his mind and his blood continued to boil with anger. He couldn't hold himself and he forwarded his hand to hold his neighbor's neck himself. The vines naturally gave way for Caesar's hand over his neck and Caesar's hand squeezed
Caesar could feel his hair being pulled from all the directions and a pair of little feet jumping around on his shoulders."..." 'A naughty one indeed.'He raised his hands to catch the lively being from his head but all he got was a bite on his fingers instead."..." 'A bit too naughty.'He shook his hand with pain and hissed. After calming himself down, he started shaking his body trying to shake off the naughty kid. These movements of his only made the kid enjoy even more as happy noises increased and the strength in his stomps over his shoulders increased, trying to not fall off from his 'territory'.Caesar could do nothing but sigh to himself before speaking resignedly, "Come down. At least let me take a look at you once."How could he call himself a father, when he didn't even know what his son looked like?Shameful.Very shameful. As soon as his voice was heard, the stomps on his shoulders came to a stop.'Looks like he is not that bad either,' ML smiled to himself. He raised h
Red.Bright red. That's how his eyes were at this moment.Caesar's eyes were dark, filled with bright red, like they were filled with blood. His eyes had the emotion of a mixture of grievance and hatred. An immense amount of hatred that almost all his veins were bulging out of his skin, seemingly about to burst open, trying to come out and waiting to attack someone. The bright red and wet with hot tears, his eyes were shut tightly as Caesar tried his best to calm himself down. But everything to no avail. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't forget the image that he so very badly wanted to destroy out of his mind. His bright red eyes couldn't seem to forget the image of another bright red which was this time the blood that was flowing freely like a stream of pool.In the midst of the pool of blood, lay helplessly a woman with her eyes open. The beautiful eyes no longer had the life that they usually had in them.Once these eyes would always show the cheeriness that could brighten u
"Ahhhhh!!!!!!"Caesar screamed loudly from inside his home as a bunch of birds flew in the opposite direction of his house, clearly scared of his loud scream. He raised his clenched hand and punched hard on the wall in front of him to release all his emotions. There formed a crack in the wooden wall at the point where his fist just contacted.Caesar opened his eyes to find that his skin just grazed a sharp object that came out of the crack on the wall.He narrowed his eyes and looked at it sharply. He was actually not in a mood to look at his surroundings and would have not cared about the so-called sharp object in general. But he felt like the 'sharp object' was looking at him and was calling for him. It was calling for rescue. It was asking for his help, 'Help me.'Somehow the voice of the object started overlapping with a woman's voice in his mind. The way she was dead. The way she called for help. Everything that happened before her death started relapsing in his mind as he looked
Caesar was now standing in his backyard, with blood seeping from his hand as he looked at a small plant that reached his knees. With his bloodied hand, he softly touched the top of the plant. His every action was so soft and warm as if he was looking at his love instead of a plant. At the top of the plant laid a small, very tiny bud that was almost ready to bloom. As soon as his fingers touched the plant, the bud started blooming into a beautiful flower. As the petals started opening up, a golden light shone from the inside.Looking at the golden light, Caesar's eyes brightened as they were now filled with excitement as if he was waiting for someone's- who is (or would be) very close to his heart- arrival. The petals continued opening up at a slow pace and a pair of eyes suddenly crept out of them to look at the new world.Caesar's eyes warmed up with moisture as he looked at the new arrival. He used his left hand, which did not have any hint of blood on it, to stretch it in front of
