5 ~ The Despicable Jasper Garner

CHAPTER 5

Everyone gasped and stared at her in confusion, most especially, the doctor and her Uncle, Jasper. 

“Young Lady, would you keep your nerve down? The Doctor hasn't even said anything, and now, you bursted into tears!" Angrily, Uncle Jasper refuted, and glanced at the Doctor. 

“Please Mason, is everything okay with the young man?" He questioned and patiently waited for his response while the lady had also stopped crying, and anticipated the Doctor's words. 

The Head Doctor chuckled, “Miss Garner , you don't have to worry about the man anymore!"  

Quickly, she asked. "Is he okay?” 

The Doctor,  Mason responded, "His condition isn't severe. The injuries inflicted on him aren't much, when we checked his injuries, they were just slight bruises.” 

The lady was confused, she demanded, "But Dr Mason, I saw blood gushing out of his delicate parts, are you really sure about what you're saying? The Man was beaten to that state.” Her voice was tinged with worries and fear. The Doctor's words aren't satisfying enough.

“Miss Garner , are you trying to shame me? I'm really telling the truth. The Man has moved out of the Theatre room, and you can check up on him!” The Doctor's voice was a little bit rising. He couldn't believe the lady was trying to ridicule him. 

Uncle Jasper snapped her out in a cold tone, “Hey, Young Lady?! You don't have to question Dr. Mason's treatment! The young man's condition is stable.” 

The Young Lady then nodded her head in response, “Fine! If you say so! He must be hungry when he wakes up so I would love to get some food for the man!” With that being said, she left the premises and went in search of food. 

Uncle Jasper thanked the Doctor, and appreciated him for saving the young man from dying. 

“If you don't mind, Can I see the young man now? I would like to see how he is faring.” He demanded, and flashed the Doctor a smile. 

"Sure!” Dr. Mason uttered, and pointed at the room, "The Young Man would awake any time from now!” He added, and escorted Jasper into the emergency room and left. 

Immediately he entered the room, Jasper's expression had changed to that of stoic, and cold. His face was rigid as he walked towards the bed. 

At this moment, Benjamin  woke up from the mirage of the ring. As he opened his eyes, the light ray in the room dimmed into it, and instantly, he shut it, and adjusted to the light. 

He was surprised and confused about where he was.

Soon enough, everything began to flood his head. He had remembered what he'd gone through in the hands of the dangerous mobsters. 

He held his head as he felt a slight headache, and tilted to the left, where he saw a strange man standing, and glaring at him in an unfriendly manner. 

Overwhelmed with fright, he stuttered. “Who are you?? What are you doing here?? How did I get here?” Benjamin  asked, and sank into the bed. His face was occupied with dread. He doesn't know who the man was. 

Jasper sneered, he was very sure that Benjamin  was pretending to be injured whereas he wasn't. 

He muttered, “I'm Jasper Garner , the Uncle of the young lady you saved yesterday!" 

Although his voice was cold and husky, Benjamin  didn't bother about it, and felt relaxed. He demanded in a hurry, “How is she? I hope she is not hurt!"

Jasper lashed angrily, "You don't have the right to ask for her welfare. I know you are pretending to be badly injured to cheat for our sympathy, right?” 

Benjamin  was confused, and couldn't say anything. Jasper continued the ironic words on him, “I’m warning you, young man! You shouldn't try to trick her, she is a noble girl from the Garner  family and you are just a worthless man with no future. Try to desist from her! It's just a warning!” Finally, he concluded. 

Benjamin 's face was contorted with rage, and was very furious. He couldn't understand why Jasper was so arrogant to him. He felt angry because he saved the girl but he only got some ironic and ungrateful words.

He refuted and snapped at the man in front of him rudely, “How ungrateful you are? I had saved the young lady from trouble yesterday, and this is how you will repay me? I think you will be grateful if you have seen the lady dead on the street." 

His last words were brutal, but he didn't care about it. Jasper glanced at Benjamin  and clenched his fists angrily.  

"You don't… ." 

At this moment, Jasper's words were interrupted by the blaring sound coming out from Benjamin 's phone. 

He picked it up and glanced at the screen. 

It was his wife! 

He answered it, and before he could say anything, the wife's loud voice erupted from the phone. 

“Where are you, Benjamin ? I saw the medical certificate you dropped at home; why didn't you tell me, Benjamin ? You should come home as soon as possible, I need to have one or two words with you!” 

Benjamin  could notice how her voice was laced with worries, then smiled at the thought that she had repented and how important he was. 

He responded, “I'm coming! I will be with you very soon!” With that, the call went limp. 

Jasper sneered arrogantly, and asked, “So you are married, and yet you are trying to get close to the Garner 's daughter. What are your motives, young man? Why are you flirting with her!”

Instantly he blurted out, Benjamin 's face was covered with anger. He never expected that from him. 

“I'm not wicked as you are! I don't do good because I want to gain something in return. I had saved the Garner 's daughter out of love, and because of that, I'm happy. I can't treat everybody as a bad person.” 

He didn't wait for his response, as he took out the syringe from his body. He doesn't have the treatment anymore as he was perfectly cured by the medical skills provided by the ring. 

With that, he dashed out of the hospital and went home to meet his wife.
