Chapter 84

Dwayne walked out of his room and sat down beside his mother, who was peeling some oranges while watching a soap opera commercial.

After his call with Radley, he couldn't stop thinking about what he said. He is right; no one else will be able to rescue Riley if not Radley. But that would be dangerous. The last time they faced the blackmailer, he almost killed both of them. Because of him, they left LA and came to different cities. He isn't someone they could easily get, and that makes him more worried about Riley and what she might be facing with the blackmailer. He saw her face. She was hurt and in pain. The look on her face screamed for help.

"What is going on, Dwayne?" His mother, who noticed how lost he was, asked. He's been off lately, and that only gets her worried about him. She has always wanted to ask you about it but doesn't because she thinks he has a lot of work to do and is only tired.

"Nothing, ma," he said and picked up a slice of orange.

"Are you sure?" she asked, even
