Chapter 2 - His World Has Collapsed

"Julian!" Aurora stopped in the doorway of her house.

Julian, who was already a few meters away from Aurora's position, also stopped. Julian looked back and saw Aurora, his wife, with a sad face. Aurora ran down the stairs and approached Julian.

"Don't go," she said with her cheeks filled with tears.

"Aurora, come back here quickly!" Felicity was still following her daughter. "Just let him go; he can't make you happy at all."

Aurora seemed to be trying to cover her ears and grabbed Julian's hand. It broke Julian's heart to see Aurora crying silently.

"Aurora, I will definitely come back when I can prove that I can make you happy."

"Aurora, hurry up! Come back here, or do you want to live with a poor man like him?" Felicity continued to make threats.

"Just go back there, Aurora." Julian whispered, releasing Aurora's grip.

Aurora could only cry and was speechless. Julian just walked away without looking back. Aurora fell to her knees without stopping crying.

"Aurora, let's go inside." Isadora was already standing next to Aurora with a flat face.

"I don't want to; I'll wait for Julian to come back." Aurora still couldn't contain her sadness.

"Oh, come on, don't be such a drama queen." Isadora rolled her eyes as she folded her arms across her chest. "Come on in!"

Isadora immediately pulled Aurora's body apart until Aurora was forced to follow her sister's wishes. Aurora was successfully brought in by Isadora and returned to her room. Aurora immediately locked the door and curled up inside with sadness.

"Ma, aren't you too much?" Sebastian asked his wife, eye-on-eye.

"What's too much?" Felicity looked at her husband with a sharp gaze. "Have I been unkind to Julian? Have I been rude to him?"

Sebastian couldn't answer because his wife had never been this outrageous.

"Look! Papa also knows about it. Just now, I want to be firm and make my Aurora happy, Pa. I want to have grandchildren and do what's best for Aurora's life."

Sebastian could only remain silent and listen to all his wife's words, which managed to make him believe.

"But they're already married, ma. Shouldn't you let them decide what's best for their marriage? After all, Aurora and Julian are still very young."

"Enough, pa! I don't want to hear you defend Julian all the time." Felicity got up from the living room sofa and headed back into her room. "One more thing."

Sebastian looked at his wife with rapt attention.

"I want Aurora and Julian to get a divorce."

"Ma!"

"I don't want to hear any excuses; the point is that I want them to separate. I'll find a better man for my Aurora."

Felicity walked away without listening to Sebastian's explanation. Seeing his wife leave, Sebastian leaned his head back and massaged his forehead.

"What should I do now?" Sebastian could not think clearly.

Julian, on the other hand, was walking along the sidewalk without a sense of direction or purpose. Julian saw a cafe that was his and Aurora’s favorite place to go. Julian could only smile slightly when he imagined himself and Aurora sitting by the cafe window.

"I miss you already, Aurora." Julian muttered without realizing it.

Julian immediately wiped away the tears that were just about to fall on his temples. Julian exhaled deeply before walking towards the cafe.

The cafe bell rang as Julian opened the door wide.

"Welcome," greeted the employee, already perched behind the bar.

Julian walked in and went to the bar. “Can I order a cup of coffee?"

“What kind of coffee do you want, sir?"

“Iced Americano, please."

“One iced Americano, anything else?” The employee asked while Julian pulled out a piece of money.

"That's all, thank you." Julian replied and paid with the prepared money.

The cafe waitress accepted and then gave change. "Thank you; please wait a moment, sir."

"Alright, thank you." Julian accepted the note and changed before choosing a seat near the window of the cafe, where he usually sat with Aurora.

Soon, Julian's order was served. "Thank you," he said.

A bunch of women entered the same cafe as Julian. At first, Julian didn't turn around at all and focused on the drinks in front of him. However, they were loud enough that made Julian attracted to look at them.

A group of women consisted of three in their luxurious clothes. They were standing in front of the bar and choosing the menu they wanted, in turn. Julian stared at their faces one by one, and it seemed like he had met them somewhere. Julian's trying to remember.

"Do you know the latest news from Felicity?" One of the women in a black dress started the conversation while choosing a seat next to Julian.

Julian immediately turned his face and returned to focusing on his drink. This time, Julian remembers that he met them at one of Kingsley's resorts. Julian tried to turn his face as far as possible so that they didn't recognize him, even though Julian was sure they didn't remember him.

"Not yet; what's up?" A woman in a white turtleneck cuddled while laying a bag next to her seat.

"You guys haven't been heard? But, promise me, you won't tell her that you know this news from me." The woman in black continued while crossing her hands on the table.

"So, she said that her daughter named Aurora was going to marry Mr. Beaumont's son." The woman in black continued her sentence.

Julian, who was sitting right next to their table, stopped drinking the coffee and put it back on the table. Julian's heart feels like it's falling to the ground, and his head suddenly feels heavy. Julian doesn't believe anything he just heard.

"Didn't Aurora already have a husband?" asked the other woman in a confused tone.

"Ah, was her husband the waitress at the resort at the time?" The woman with the turtleneck cuddled and stared at her two friends.

"Yes, that's right." The woman in black nodded confidently. "Felicity said he was an adopted child that had been taken from the street by her husband, and got married to Aurora."

"Oh my God, it's a pity that Aurora has to marry a man like that."

"I know, right. That's why Felicity tried to marry Aurora again with Mr. Beaumont's son."

"If that's the case, I agree, and actually they're equal."

Soon after that, their conversation was interrupted because their orders were served. Julian, who can listen clearly to their conversation from beginning to an end, can only shut his mouth and look out at the street. Julian's heart was bitten by a sword that reached his back. Julian knew that he was just trash in the eyes of these conglomerates.

"Says Felicity, when will their wedding be held?" The woman with that turtleneck is still asking on the same topic.

"She said as soon as they could."

Julian just stood up from his position, without touching his Americano again, and just left. The three women stared at Julian, who passed them angrily, yet the three of them were not aware at all that Julian was Aurora's husband.

Julian came out of the cafe and then took a deep breath. Why is it so hard for me to breathe?"

Julian shuddered while holding his chest tightly. Julian stared toward the sky and tried to contain the tears that would come out of his eyelids. Julian decided to walk along the sidewalk without knowing which way he was going. Julian left with his money in the wallet, which could probably keep him alive for three days.

"I'm going to find a place to stay near Mr. Kingsley's house."

Julian walked back around Sebastian's house and rented a room to spend the night there. After that, Julian entered the room and didn't come out again until morning came.

"Aurora!" Isadora called Aurora again from her doorstep while knocking a few times. "Don't you want to have dinner?"

"I'm not hungry." Aurora answered without moving and opened the door.

"If you're sick, I'm not going to take responsibility." Isadora said the sentence quickly before leaving Aurora's room.

Aurora locked herself in her room all day and could hear Isadora's footsteps walking away from her room. Aurora was just sitting with her legs folded in front of her chest, staring out the window of her room, doing nothing. Aurora didn't see anything; she just looked empty and asked herself about Julian's condition.

"Julian, where are you now? Are you all right?" Aurora monologues herself. "I've missed you already; I can't stay away from you."

Aurora's tears fell down again and made her exhausted. Aurora lay down until her eyes closed. Aurora fell asleep with both eyes still not dry from tears.

“Night, Mr. Beaumont.” Felicity greeted the person she was calling on. “Are you busy?”

Mr. Beaumont answered everything that Felicity asked.

“Mr. Beaumont, is it possible that I want to meet you tomorrow with your son?” Felicity waited while crossing her legs on the sofa. “Oh, great! So, see you tomorrow, Mr. Beaumont. Night.”

“Who are you calling to, Felicity?” Sebastian asked in furrowed.

“None of your business.”
