Chapter 3 - Wedding Day

The next morning, Felicity was taking a spare key for Aurora’s room. Felicity opened up Aurora’s bedroom and closed the door quietly. Felicity walked slowly into Aurora’s bed and sat on the bed while looking at Aurora. Felicity put her body and stroked Aurora’s hair slowly.

“Aurora, wake up.” Felicity whispered because she didn’t want to make Aurora surprised.

Aurora turned her body and opened her eyes with the remaining strength she had. Aurora saw her mother lying beside her with a little smile. Aurora was eager to avoid Felicity, but her body was too limp to do that. So, Aurora just shut up and tried to close her eyes again.

"Aurora, get up, it's already early. Do you want to just sleep all day?" Felicity tried to persuade in subtle ways.

Aurora nodded her head and kept both eyes closed. Felicity tries to figure out how to wake him up. Felicity didn't want to give up because today, she was going to reunite Aurora with her new husband-to-be. So, inevitably, Aurora had to get up and prepare.

"Please, wake up Aurora, we have a family meeting for you to attend. It's impossible for us to attend without you." Felicity tries to lie to Aurora.

"I don't want to come, just say that Aurora is sick." Aurora turned her back to Felicity.

Felicity was already impatient and immediately stood up from her position. "I'll call the nanny aunt and tell her to help you prepare. You have to come along, period."

Felicity didn't want to hear any excuses and left Aurora's room directly. Not to forget, Felicity also called the nanny aunt and other servants to wake up and make Aurora prepare. Aurora had no other choice but to follow Felicity's wishes.

Thirty minutes later, Aurora was ready in her gorgeous peach dress. Felicity picks up Aurora in her room and invites her downstairs along with her. Aurora didn't put on any expression and descended slowly while staring towards the living room. Aurora saw two men who sat side by side and face to face with Sebastian.

Aurora whispered to Felicity, "Ma, who are they?"

"Just sit down," replied Felicity, not answering Aurora's question at all.

Aurora and Felicity sat side by side on a long couch. Sebastian, Papa Aurora, sat alone on the single couch on her right, and Isadora was next to Felicity. One of the younger men sat looking at Aurora with a little smile. Aurora tried not to look back at him.

"Mr. Beaumont and Lucas, introduce my daughter, Aurora.” Felicity proudly introduced her daughter.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Beaumont." Aurora greeted the old man politely.

"Aurora, this is Lucas, the man that I told you about at the time," said Felicity, who stared at Aurora with a big smile.

Actually, Felicity never talked about Lucas in front of Aurora, never.

"Lucas is the one who's going to be your future husband." Felicity hugged Aurora's shoulder and explained what actually happened here.

Aurora, who heard that, was really shocked. She didn't think at all that Felicity was really going to fuck her up with another guy this fast. Aurora can only give a flat expression with no speech.

"Lucas, take your time with Aurora." Felicity prompted Lucas to take his first action.

"Ma," Aurora whispered while staring at Felicity with an unbelievable face.

"Aurora, may I talk to you in the backyard?"

Aurora, confused and unaware of what to say, could only look at Sebastian, his father, hoping that Sebastian would save him from this arranged marriage. But unfortunately, Sebastian turned his face and pretended not to see anything.

"Pa," Aurora whispered, like someone asking for help.

"Aurora, Lucas is waiting." Felicity immediately pushed Aurora's back away to move.

When Aurora felt the impulse, she had no choice but to stand. Lucas gave her a hand, and Aurora greeted him with reluctance. Aurora and Lucas walk away, leaving everyone in the middle room, while they both walk towards the backyard.

In the middle of the road to the park, Aurora immediately pulled her hands off Lucas and folded her arms in front of her chest, uncomfortable. Lucas, who saw it, could only let her and try to understand Aurora's behavior. The backyard isn't too far from the middle room, but Aurora feels she's in an unsafe place.

"Sit down," said Lucas, trying to act relaxed for Aurora, and told her to sit in the garden chair.

"I'll just sit there." Aurora refused and chose to sit in a swing a few meters away from the garden chair that Lucas occupied.

Lucas is still staring at Aurora, while Aurora may have turned her eyes away from Lucas. Lucas can feel an awkward and uncomfortable feeling between them, so Lucas tries to be careful. Lucas leaned into his chair and looked straight, not toward Aurora.

"I know this is so sudden and makes you uncomfortable. I'm sorry," said Lucas, starting the conversation, holding his hands and putting them on his thighs.

"No, no, it's not your fault," Aurora said briefly.

"Dad said I'd be invited to his business partner's house." Lucas started his long story. "I just thought we'd just talk about business, but it didn't. We're talking about this arranged marriage."

Aurora just listened and kept staring straight at the blooming, beautiful flowers. Lucas knew Aurora was listening but didn't want to answer anything. Lucas decided to continue his story.

"I heard you're married?" Lucas immediately asked about the sensitive topic.

Aurora, who heard it, glanced at Lucas for a moment. "So, you know about it?"

"No, but Mr. Kingsley accidentally mentioned it." Lucas shrugged his shoulders and looked back at Aurora.

As soon as Lucas's gaze returned toward Aurora, Aurora immediately turned her gaze. "Then, what do you think?"

"What do you mean? What do I think about you being married?" Lucas asked to confirm Aurora's question.

"Yes, what if I'm married? Do you still want to be with me?" Aurora insisted with a hope that Lucas would hate her.

Lucas took a deep breath before answering, "I don't mind because I will make you love me more than your previous husband."

Aurora, who heard the answer for a moment, lost her common sense. Aurora's mouth was too numb to answer Lucas's unthinkable speech. The atmosphere is quiet and awkward again. Both of them were floating in their own minds.

"Mr. Beaumont, what if we celebrate their wedding tonight?" Felicity sounds very excited about this feast.

Mr. Beaumont was quite surprised to hear that. However, on the other hand, Mr. Beaumont is also happy that their children can finally get married in a short time.

"How's Mr. Kingsley?" Mr. Beaumont stared at his business partner to ask for consideration and consent.

"Isn't it too sudden? Aren't we going to give Lucas and Aurora a chance to get to know each other first?" Sebastian looks a little annoyed and sad because his daughter, Aurora, had to do all this.

"Oh, aren't they getting to know each other right now? Honey, I think they're going to adapt quickly. So, you don't have to worry." Felicity shrugged her husband's shoulders and tried to convince him.

"That's right, young people are now faster to build chemistry and love." Isadora, who supports Felicity, went on to convince Sebastian.

Mr. Beaumont listened to the support of Isadora and Felicity. So, he nodded his head, agreeing. Meanwhile, Sebastian is still heavily trying to hold him back. Everybody's staring at Sebastian and waiting for a response from him.

Sebastian had no choice anymore because his voice wasn't heard enough by the three people who had agreed. "Well, I agree."

"Well, then we can carry out their wedding tonight." Mr. Beaumont came enthusiastically to hear Sebastian's answer. “I will ask someone to prepare the wedding banquet right away. I will make the party as lively and beautiful as possible.”

"Thank you, Mr. Beaumont, it seems that we gave our child to the right person." Felicity dramatizes the situation.

"Of course, Lucas and I will definitely take care and cherish your child like our own family." Mr. Beaumont tried to convince the Kingsleys. "Then, let's call them so that they can also prepare."

Felicity nodded her head and directly told Isadora to call the two of them. Felicity and Isadora, who managed to carry out their plan, smiled with satisfaction. They looked at each other before bowing their heads in a pleasant mood.

“I will call them,” said Isadora while standing up from her position.

On the other side, Julian just walked out of his inn and stared at the direction of the Kingsley family mansion. Julian had thought about stopping by for a while and finding out Aurora's condition. However, Julian's steps stopped when he saw a car drive into the courtyard of the Kingsley family house and two men got off, one young and the other one was old.

"Who are they?" Julian began to be suspicious and felt something strange about their arrival.
