139. Take a Chance

“I don't know who gave the order to eliminate the Commissioner's descendants. However, please, don't hurt the child," said Brian, trying to talk to the man.

But unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be of any use. The man was so alert that Brian had difficulty finding an opening. But, for now, Brian will keep talking.

“I'm the one who will take over, not him, or his brother. I will be the replacement commissioner, wouldn't it be better if you take me first?"

Brian spoke as fully as possible, or maybe even aroused the perpetrator's emotions, as long as there was a little gap, and a chance to invite Kevin to find the man's grip.

Who would have thought that the laughter that came out of the man's mouth made Kevin stop crying? Either because his voice was loud, or his tone was cynical and cold. But Kevin thought Brian was confused. Brian pulled the corners of his lips into a smile, calmed Kevin as best he could, and promised to save the child unharmed.
