Hello. This is the author of 'The Consortium's Heir' and 'The Chronicles of a Mage God'. Welcome to my new book. If you've enjoyed what you've read so far kindly drop a comment about what you think. Thank you and happy reading!
"Young man, do you live there? I heard that's not a place that just anybody can live in. It's a really expensive place." The taxi driver mentioned in a concerned tone. He was a long term resident of this region, so he knew a lot of things the average foreigner didn't. Nicolas was about to ignore the taxi driver, but after hearing his concerned tone he changed his mind and decided to reply. "No I don't live there. I want to buy a house. I heard the location is not bad, and the prices are decent." Nicolas replied casually. After hearing Nicolas' reply, the taxi driver went silent and seamlessly drove out of the parking lot. What a joke. Most people in this region could not afford to rent a place in the Onyx Palace, talk less of buying a house. It was even more unbelievable that it was this young man who wanted to purchase a house there. He did not look like he could even afford the meals there, talk less the house. Nicolas could guess what was going on in the taxi driver's mind, bu
Everyone watched with bated breaths as she swiped the card on the Point of Sale machine. They wanted to see if Nicolas was just a braggart or was really as wealthy he claimed to be. After swiping the black card, the Point of Sale machine beeped, signifying that the payment of $17 million was successful, before printing out the transaction receipt. The customers who were so loud earlier couldn't laugh now. They were looking at Nicolas like he was an alien, their expressions extremely comical. They did not think that Nicolas could easily buy the Blue Diamond Villa so easily! To be able to spend $17 million so easily, how rich must he be? He must have had above $100 million in that black card! Ann was also very surprised. She did not think that Nicolas could afford the Villa at all. She was surprised, but pleasantly so. She was an intern salesperson and had never made such a huge sale before. Her commission from this sale alone was comparable to several months of her salary. "The c
"Arson?" Nicolas inquired, his piercing blue eyes narrowing and his voice icy. "Yes." Detective Oliver replied affirmatively, his tone still neutral. Nicolas' grip on his phone became tighter, and some cracks started appearing on the phone. The aura that leaked out of his body was incredibly murderous, which made one wonder what exactly Nicolas did to have such a murderous aura. "The culprit?" Nicolas asked with gritted teeth, his grip on the phone still getting tighter. "I have not discovered the culprit yet, but I am currently working on it." Detective Oliver answered in the same neutral tone. "Okay. Keep me updated on any findings you have." Nicolas ordered before abruptly disconnecting the phone call. Nicolas dropped his phone on his table and took a look at the documents. His phone was now damaged, with the edges of the phone bent and huge cracks now on it. The screen was now also bad, but Nicolas could care less about his damaged phone. His whole attention was on the conve
-NX warehouse. [2 hours earlier] Inside a barely lit warehouse, a dashing young man dressed in an all black leather suit held an expensive phone in his left hand. Beside him was another dashing young man who was dressed in the same outfit, but a black nose mask hiding his facial features. Thirty burly men were also present in the barely lit warehouse, maintaining a bit of distance from the two young men but were still positioned protectively around the two young men. The young men were none other than Patrick Schick and his very good friend, Victor Russ. There was also a chair in the warehouse, and a very beautiful lady was tied roughly to the chair, her head covered with a black bag. The lady was of course Charlotte. Her radiant aura was no longer present, her beautiful eyes screamed of weakness and tiredness and her expensive clothes were torn in different places. Patrick took a puff from a cigarette in his hand and smoked deeply before passing it over to his friend Victor to
"You must be tired of living a wealthy life." Nicolas said frostily he moment he stepped into the dark warehouse. A quick glance at the warehouse and Nicolas saw the beautiful lady tied down to a chair, with bruises on her face and wrists. It was obvious that Patrick had hit her. Patrick was a bit surprised at Nicolas' early arrival, but a feeling of arrogance soon overcame his surprise and he laughed heartily. "This is great!" Patrick said amidst his laughter. "You must be Nicolas, the only one in Stormwind City who dares to go against my orders!" Patrick continued to say, but Nicolas cut him off abruptly. "Yes I am." Nicolas affirmed coldly. "Very good! Very good!" Patrick said angrily. "I will make sure you regret your actions!" Patrick yelled angrily, and then made a hand signal. As soon as he made the hand signal, the thirty burly men who had secretly positioned themselves to attack the intruder at a moment's notice immediately moved towards Nicolas, their burly bodies radia
Charlotte watched as the policemen arrested Patrick, Victor and the thirty burly men who were defeated by Nicolas. She couldn't believe her eyes at what she saw. Patrick Schick, the vile heir to the Schick Group who had been troubling her and the Clinton Group for more than a year was defeated instantly by the handsome stranger. It was too shocking. While she was still thinking about how surreal the whole sequence of events ended, a sharp pain on her wrist jolted her out of her thoughts. Nicolas who was standing close to her instantly noticed her subtle movement, and a sharp crease appeared on his eyebrows. He stretched his hands and studied her injured wrist for a few seconds before letting out a sharp sigh. "You have been injured by those horrible men. Let's get you to the hospital immediately." Nicolas said in a calm tone while inspecting the red wounds on Charlotte wrists. As a result, he did not notice the red tint on Charlotte's cheeks. "Mr. Nicolas!" A steady voice sounded
[One week later] After taking care of the Schick Group, Charlotte's Clinton Group did not face any more challenges, and without suspense, she succesfully acquired the Schick Group. After changing the name of the business group from Schick Group to Ormond Group under Nicolas' order, it became one of the subsidiary company of the Clinton Group. The rest of the week was spent with Charlotte hiring new and trustworthy talents to fill the gap that the former personnel of the Schick Group left, and also restructuring the business group according to Nicolas' orders. Charlotte was a very talented person, and without any suspense the newly acquired Ormond Group was under control. Nicolas woke up in his luxurious king sized bedroom energetic and refreshed. Out of habit, Nicolas glanced at the antique clock on the wall of his luxurious bedroom and saw that it was 9:06 am in the morning. He got up from his bedroom and did a series of light stretches, his bones popping and his muscles strainin
"How dare you?!" a voice that belonged to a young man echoed in the classy sales centre. The tone of the voice was incredibly arrogant and superior, making Nicolas frown subconsciously. Nicolas' attention, alongside Liam's was instantly drawn to the source of the voice, and what the both of them saw made Nicolas frown even deeper. A handsome young man with bright red hair was furiously yelling at a female salesperson, his eyes staring down at her with a disdainful look. He seemed disgusted by the sight of the female salesperson. "Look at that, young master Jason is acting up again." a customer who also wanted to purchase a vehicle at the Maxi Automobiles sales centre said, and although it was hidden carefully, one could sense the displeasure in his voice. "Yeah he is. This is the third time this month he is behaving like this. Almost everytime he comes here to service his car he is always involved in one altercation or the other." another customer added, displeasure also layered in
Following the meticulous plans of Nicolas, the Tyris family completely met their ruin a few weeks later. The once-mighty Tyris family now laid in financial ruin; their business empire dismantled, their wealth evaporated, and their influence shattered. The Tyris family faced the harsh reality of their downfall. The federal authorities, after the proper investigations and thorough examinations of the activities of the Tyris family business group and companies came out with a befitting result. In a press conference, the Tyris family were pronounced guilty of all the charges levied against them, and would face the proper punishments worthy of their crime.Without any suspense, Grey Tyris, alongside with his accomplices would without a single iota of doubt face jail time in the wake of their offence.Naturally, Grey Tyris and his accomplices did not want to go down without swinging, hence they pooled their last resources and hired a top lawyer to defend them.Nevertheless, it still ended u
“Who are you?!” Margaret Tyris asked the moment the door was forcefully kicked open and then scrambled her way to the table which was closest to her and picked up a knife. She held the knife with both hands and pointed it at the person who forcefully kicked the door open.As a person who was wanted by the federal authorities and on the run, she was extremely paranoid and anxious, and when coupled with the fact that the invader forcefully kicked the door open, it was no wonder that she was on edge and picked up a knife. No matter who the person was, and regardless of their identity, whether they were with the federal authorities or not, she was not going to let herself get caught and let everything she’d worked for go down the drain! With that resolution in mind, she took a deep breath to calm her mind and her already trembling hands, then took a good look at the invader. The invader was very tall, standing at an impressive height of 190 cm, or even more. He was also very well built, a
Leyland Hotel, Stormwind City.[11:34 p.m.]The Leyland Hotel could not be classified as a five star hotel in Stormwind city, neither could it be classified as a four star hotel. The best it could be called was a three star hotel, after all, it was located well in the outskirts of Stormwind city.Everything in the hotel, from the exterior of the building to the rooms in the building could be described as third class at best. The exterior of the hotel which was once stood beautifully under the reflection of the bright sun was now somewhat rundown, and completely unattractive to most of the passer-byes who considered spending the night there. The receptionist who sat at the front desk in the hotel was the perfect example of bored and disinterested, with her desk being cluttered with outdated brochures and a ringing bell that had long lost its shine.Every other facility in the hotel could be described as third class at best. The rooms were very unpleasant for a customer with uncomfortab
The Tyris family manor, Stormwind City.It was quite late into the afternoon when Nicolas arrived at the Tyris manor. He, of course, drove his sleek Lamborghini Aventador to the manor as usual. As he stood outside the Tyris manor, his heart beat rapidly in a mix of anticipation and resolve. He had come alone, as he was driven by the desire to see the outcome of his actions firsthand, as well as closure from it.This moment had been years in the making, a meticulously crafted plan to bring down the family that had tormented him for so long. The once-grand estate now mirrored the desolation that had marked Nicolas's childhood—a fitting backdrop for the culmination of his vengeance. The large manor which sat atop a large amount of acres was once vibrant with the bustle of high society. However, it now felt like a mausoleum, as if echoing the emptiness of its occupants' fortunes. The Tyris manor which was once a symbol of opulence and power for the Tyris family, now stood as a dismal remin
The moment the VITA Group which was the main and fundamental pillar of the Tyris family was acquired by Nicolas, the doom of the Tyris family was set in stone. In less than 48 hours, Nicolas had acquired the VITA Group, the Tyris family main pillar. What more could be said for the small business companies and corporations that were part of the VITA Group or under their banner? In less than 36 hours, every single business company that was controlled by the VITA Group switched owners and were now owned by Nicolas.Naturally, they tried to resist, but it was of no use at all. Nicolas was too damn authoritative and aggressive. Most of all, he had the money. No matter what their price were, he was wealthy enough to double it.Not even a day had passed after Nicolas had purchased the small business, and a restructuring was set in progress. The name of the business group was changed from VITA to Zenith Capital, and of course, Nicolas let his trusted Charlotte Clinton handle the rest.Majorit
Less than 24 hours had passed since Grey Tyris hosted a press conference regarding the exposure of his VITA Group insider secrets and crimes, as well as their corruption. While his press conference was a swift response, which was expected from a top business veteran like Grey Tyris, it was only going to delay the inevitable. The secrets were out in the open, and whatever they did would end up being utterly hopeless.Majority of the shareholders, investors and business partners no longer had any trust in the Tyris family following the exposure of their crimes, and even the minority that still maintained their shares in the Tyris family’s VITA Group were already skeptical about riding a sinking ship. They were investors, therefore their sense of belonging was null and void when their money was involved. The moment they found a way to cut costs and regain their losses, they would jump ship immediately. There were no friends in the business world; only interests.*Mercury Penthouse, West
The next day was undoubtedly bound to be a very busy one for the members of the Tyris family, as well as the executives and upper echelon of the VITA Group.*Grey Tyris sat in his vintage study room which was located at the top floor of the Tyris manor.Dressed in an immaculate white suit, his aged body stood ramrod still with his hands crossed behind his back while his piercing blue eyes gazed out at the well-kept and neat garden below. His study room, which was usually his place of calm and control, was now filled with a palpable tension. His assistant and butler who had been with him for more than three decades hurried in, and his aged face which was always calm was now pale with anxiety."Mr. Tyris, you need to see this." He said anxiously, handing him a stack of freshly printed newspaper articles and an expensive tablet displaying various news websites.Grey Tyris collected the items from his butler, took a deep breath and scanned the headlines:“Unmasking the Titans: Tyris Fami
Naturally, with the scale and gravity of what happened, there was no way such a thing could have been kept under wraps.Without any suspense, it didn’t take long for the entire city of Stormwind, including the parts of Stormwind City were the major residents were the poor, to be completely abuzz with the scandal surrounding the Tyris Family. As news outlets continued to broadcast the shocking revelations of unethical practices within the wealthy family, public outrage grew louder by the hour. Across the city, people gathered in coffee shops, offices, their houses and many other gathering spots reserved for the public, expressing their disbelief and anger over the scandalous and unethical actions of the Tyris Family.*On a bustling street corner, a reporter from The City Chronicles, one of the ten media companies that received Charlotte’s $1 million and were on her payroll, held a microphone up to a middle-aged woman, her face flushed with indignation. The middle-aged woman was a resi
Vine Lane, Stormwind City.Vine Lane was one of the numerous middle class areas in Stormwind City, with well-built houses and apartment which were also pleasantly looking occupying the neat streets of the neighborhood. There were of course several middle end cars plying the traffic regulated highway, with the residents heading to their various destinations. The walkway reserved for the pedestrians were as empty as it could be, with only a very few passerby walking occasionally across the well paved ground. The weather was a little bit sunny, but considering the fact that it was 10:21 a.m., it was nothing too serious. Moreover, from the relaxed expression on the faces of the few pedestrians, as well as the residents in the various relaxing buildings like cafés and several restaurants, this wasn’t a one-time occurrence for them, so they were pretty much used to it.The fact that it was a Saturday, which was a weekend also contributed to the calm, serene and scanty environment.Tyrese Mi
