-The Clinton family villa.

The ambience in the exquisitely furnished living room was extremely depressing.

“Charlotte, if you agree to marry me, I will give your business a 20-million-dollar injection to get it back on track. After that, I will be in charge of paying for all of your father's hospital bills. I will ask the greatest medical professionals from abroad to treat him.”

In the living room, a dashing young man with sleek black hair was seated on the plush sofa. He was wearing the newest, most costly Louis Vuitton shoes and a brown leather suit. He had an unmistakable air of superiority on his face, and his aura was haughty.

He smirked coldly and egotistically as he observed the stunning woman seated across from him. It seemed he was determined to get her.

The woman was incredibly stunning, with a sculpted form that was flawless, with curves in all the right places. Her waist was nipped up, and her skin was as white as the moon. A set of arched brows gazed down on sweeping lashes. Her button nose was framed by beautiful ears, and her heart-shaped lips concealed a pair of gleaming, angel-white teeth.

“How is it Char? Think about it.” The handsome young man asked in a lazy tone.

“I have told you countless times Patrick and I will tell you again. I am not interested in marrying you no matter what.” The beauty named Charlotte said in a tone filled with irritation, her face strangely calm.

The handsome young man now identified as Patrick threw his head back and laughed heartily. He had expected her response. This was the lady he had been courting for a year now. How would she easily be convinced by this offer?

Charlotte might have looked calm on the surface, but her heart was like a raging storm. Why wouldn’t it be? The Clinton Group was in a crisis. Their capital chain had been cut off and the group was on the verge of bankruptcy. As the female CEO of the group, she was like a helpless lamb that had been forced into a desperate situation.

Moreover, that was not the most worrying thing. Once the group went bankrupt, the high expenses of her father’s treatment in the hospital would be cut off, and the family’s life would be in trouble.

In the end, it seemed like only Patrick Schick, the eldest son of the Schick Group, could solve the problem. As long as he said the word, all the problems would be resolved.

However, how would she marry someone like Patrick? Not only was he selfish, but he was also incredibly egoistical and narcissistic. How could she spend the rest of her life with someone like him?

“I see. Your response is still the same as usual I reckon.” Patrick replied calmly, seemingly not bothered by her response.

“I’ll be taking my leave now.” Patrick said while getting up from the sofa.

“The moment you change your mind, you know where to find me.” Patrick added before taking his leave, leaving Charlotte alone in the living room.

After confirming that he had really left, Charlotte’s front of calmness broke, and she slumped down tiredly on the sofa.

She had been incredibly busy these past few months, and she barely had enough time for rest. As a matter of fact, the only reason she came back to the family villa was because Patrick wanted to visit. If not, she would have remained at the company.

As she was still thinking about her dire situation, her phone rang. A quick glance at the caller ID told her that it was her secretary.

“Hello, Miss Charlotte!” The secretary greeted in an excited tone.

“Hello. Is anything the issue?” Charlotte answered stoically.

“Yes, there is someone here to see you!” The secretary replied in the same excited tone as earlier.

“The person says he can solve our issue! Your presence is required at once!” The secretary said excitedly.

Charlotte could not believe her ears. Did someone really want to solve the Clinton Group issues?

How lucky!

“Okay. I will be there as fast as I can!” Charlotte replied quickly, an excited look making its way on to her eyes, as she swiftly disconnected the phone call.

She immediately made her way to the garage where her yellow Chevrolet Corvette Z8 was parked. Then she sped off to the Clinton Group headquarters.

The Clinton Group headquarters was merely a twenty-minute drive from the Clinton family villa, yet Charlotte arrived at the headquarters in just ten minutes.

The Clinton Group headquarters was an imposing building of more than a hundred meters in height. The very top of the imposing building had a C and a G built right on top of the building, which stood for the initials of Clinton Group.

Charlotte walked straight into the building after exchanging pleasantries with the security guards stationed outside the building. She also exchanged greetings with the other workers of the Clinton Group while walking briskly to the gold VIP elevator, that was reserved for people of her status.

Her office was located at the top floor of the building, so it took her a few minutes for the elevator to reach there.

She exited the elevator adjacent to the Clinton Group boardroom and walked straight into her office.

“You’re here Miss Charlotte!” Her secretary greeted in a relieved yet excited tone.

However, Charlotte’s attention was not on her secretary, but on the stranger sitting confidently across her secretary on the waiting lounge.

The stranger was a young and extremely attractive man. He had glossy midnight black hair that ran down to just below his shoulders. His brows were shaped like a crescent moon and were slender and narrow. He had an authoritative nose and sharp cheekbones that sliced down to a well-defined jaw. Charlotte could not identify his exact height because he was seated, but she was certain he was taller than 190 cm.

“Miss Charlotte?” her secretary called out when he noticed her staring at the stranger for too long.

“Who are you?” Charlotte asked after being jolted out from her reverie, her tone lined with confusion.

“Me?” The handsome stranger asked in a deep and domineering voice, which carried an amused tone.

The stranger smiled before offering a breathtaking smile.

“My name is Nicolas, and I have an extremely brilliant deal for you.”

Nicolas remained seated on the very relaxing sofa and smiled once again before answering. “Exactly what I mean, Miss. Charlotte Clinton.” Nicolas replied leisurely. “I have an extremely brilliant deal for you, and it is not just brilliant for you, but for your Clinton Group as a whole.” Nicolas said authoritatively, his whole demeanour oozing dominance and imperiousness. “May I know what this deal is?” Charlotte asked in an even tone, however the curiosity in her tone couldn’t be hidden. Nicolas smiled and fiddled with a peculiar diamond ring on his right index finger before answering her. This action drew Charlotte’s attention to the ring. On a closer look, one would notice that there was an inscription on the ring. However, before she could make out what the inscription was, Nicolas put his right hand in

On top of the table that separated them from each other rested several luxurious and exotic dishes, with two bottles of exotic red wine accompanying the dishes. "This is definitely the end of the road for Charlotte Clinton." "I have thoroughly cornered her, and for her to escape her predicament she has no choice but to marry me." one of the two people dining with each other said in a very confident and satisfied tone. The person who spoke was a dashing young man with sleek black hair. He was dressed in an expensive grey suit with an equally expensive Breguet wristwatch worth around twenty thousand dollars adorning his left wrist. This young man was of course Patrick Schick, the current heir to the Schick Group. "As expected of the current heir to the Schick Group! Who can resist your charms?!" the second person replied. -Primrose Golden Alcazar, Stormwind City. Four days had passed since Nicolas' meeting with Charlotte, and while Patrick was furious over Nicolas' interruption, which had ruined his plans, Nicolas was sleeping soundly in his hotel suite's splendid master bedroom. The sound of a phone call suddenly filled the silent bedroom, and the loud ringtone roused Nicolas from his sleep. In a swift movement, Nicolas stretched his hands and answered the phone call before placing it to his ear without checking the caller ID. "Hello?" Nicolas greeted lazily, still half asleep from the all-nighter he pulled yesterday. "Hello Mr. Nicolas." an enchanting voice responded from the other end of the phone. "Miss Charlotte, to what do I owe this phone call?" Nicolas greeted while glancing at the time on the antique clock on the wall of the bedroom. "Nothing much." Charlotte answered calmly, but there were hints of excitement in her voice. "I wanted to inform you that I followed the instructions you gav

"Young man, do you live there? I heard that's not a place that just anybody can live in. It's a really expensive place." The taxi driver mentioned in a concerned tone. He was a long term resident of this region, so he knew a lot of things the average foreigner didn't. Nicolas was about to ignore the taxi driver, but after hearing his concerned tone he changed his mind and decided to reply. "No I don't live there. I want to buy a house. I heard the location is not bad, and the prices are decent." Nicolas replied casually. After hearing Nicolas' reply, the taxi driver went silent and seamlessly drove out of the parking lot. What a joke. Most people in this region could not afford to rent a place in the Onyx Palace, talk less of buying a house. It was even more unbelievable that it was this young man who wanted to purchase a house there. He did not look like he could even afford the meals there, talk less the house. Nicolas could guess what was going on in the taxi driver's mind, bu

Everyone watched with bated breaths as she swiped the card on the Point of Sale machine. They wanted to see if Nicolas was just a braggart or was really as wealthy he claimed to be. After swiping the black card, the Point of Sale machine beeped, signifying that the payment of $17 million was successful, before printing out the transaction receipt. The customers who were so loud earlier couldn't laugh now. They were looking at Nicolas like he was an alien, their expressions extremely comical. They did not think that Nicolas could easily buy the Blue Diamond Villa so easily! To be able to spend $17 million so easily, how rich must he be? He must have had above $100 million in that black card! Ann was also very surprised. She did not think that Nicolas could afford the Villa at all. She was surprised, but pleasantly so. She was an intern salesperson and had never made such a huge sale before. Her commission from this sale alone was comparable to several months of her salary. "The c

"Arson?" Nicolas inquired, his piercing blue eyes narrowing and his voice icy. "Yes." Detective Oliver replied affirmatively, his tone still neutral. Nicolas' grip on his phone became tighter, and some cracks started appearing on the phone. The aura that leaked out of his body was incredibly murderous, which made one wonder what exactly Nicolas did to have such a murderous aura. "The culprit?" Nicolas asked with gritted teeth, his grip on the phone still getting tighter. "I have not discovered the culprit yet, but I am currently working on it." Detective Oliver answered in the same neutral tone. "Okay. Keep me updated on any findings you have." Nicolas ordered before abruptly disconnecting the phone call. Nicolas dropped his phone on his table and took a look at the documents. His phone was now damaged, with the edges of the phone bent and huge cracks now on it. The screen was now also bad, but Nicolas could care less about his damaged phone. His whole attention was on the conve
