006 -

“What the?” Thomas holds his forehead. “Are you fucking nuts? Do you have any idea how much that thing cost?” he deplores.

“Shut up!” the girl snaps. “I know you were trying to put me to sleep with that strange liquid so you could rape me!”

The girl’s bad judgment makes Thomas even more desperate. “Aw, come on! If I really wanted to rape you, I don't need to put you to sleep. Don't you realize your current condition? Oh, God! You just wasted 47 grand-worth of Ether!”

“Ether?” the girl mumbles.

She looks curious for a moment. But her bad thoughts towards Thomas still don’t disappear, especially when he talked about the 47 grand, which is more than enough to buy one expensive city car.

She looks at him with a funny look, noting Thomas' humble outfits. “Give me a break! Like you really have that much money in your life!”

Thomas grimaces. What he has worried about actually happens. The girl looks down on him because of his appearance.

“Hey, look!” Thomas tries to regain his composure before making the girl understand her current situation. “I don't care what you think about me, but...”

“Shut up!” The girl denies him immediately. “I don’t even know who you are!”

That one is really effective to put Thomas in a complete silent, admitting that the girl really has the reason to doubting him. He scratches his forehead with a desperate look, and sighs.

“Whatever!”

He gets off from the grave, and then tries to move his legs, intending to take his leave. Of course, this makes the girl anxious.

“Wait!” She halts. “Where are you going?”

“You are right! We don’t know each other. Like I care you are going to die or not,” Thomas frets as he keeps crawling away.

“Please, don’t leave me alone here,” the girl cries.

Soon, a cold breeze blows her hair. This is not her first time to visit this cemetery. But somehow, she feels the place becomes more eerie than how it usually is.

She is such a superstitious girl, and believes in the existence of ghosts and demons. Not to mention it is going to get dark soon.

“Hey! Mister! Whoever you are! Please! Come back here!”

Right when she tries to move her left leg, she feels the pain in the bite wound.

“Uhk! My leg?”

Now, she is facing the similar predicament as what Thomas currently has, crawling while dragging her left leg.

It’s not that she can’t walk. She is too scared to move her left leg after what Thomas warned her earlier.

“Hey, listen!” she calls. “There’s someone on the side of the road at the cemetery gate! At least, tell him to come here to help me!”

Thomas stops, and looks back at her. He then observes his surroundings, and finds that the cemetery is quite vast. He can’t even see the road or the gate the girl mentioned.

“How far it is from here?” asks Thomas.

“Um, I.., I’m not so sure! About 200 meters. Maybe more,” the girl replies, panting.

Thomas realizes that the girl's condition is getting worse. He doubts whether he will be able to reach the gate by crawling to get help for her any time soon.

He then moves to behind a gravestone. The girl begs again, afraid that Thomas is going to ignore her. But then, she sees a blue light from behind the gravestone.

Moments later, Thomas reappears, but now seems to be limping on a katana. He still finds it difficult to stand on his two feet.

The difficulty is clearly visible on his face. He looks like a wounded soldier returning from war, making the girl think that Thomas is going to kill her.

“Where did you get that sword? What are you going to do to me?”

Thomas ignores her fear, and puts down a vial containing a yellow liquid, looking similar to the one the girl threw away. He also puts a plastic bottle containing green liquid, the same liquid he previously used at the river bank to treat the dog bite wounds in his hand.

“Look! This yellow liquid can cure any poisons and bad ailments. And this green one, it can cure external wounds. You only need to drink this Ether, and then pour this green liquid on the bite wound.”

“It’s up to you whether you believe me or not! Take them at your own risk! I’ll go find the one you mentioned earlier. But I don’t know if I can make it in time.”

Finished with that, Thomas leaves the girl, limping away by using the katana as support to walk. He tries to get to the gate as quickly as possible, and stumbles several times because of it. Until then, the girl can no longer see Thomas.

More than 10 minutes have passed, but the girl hasn’t touched the vial Thomas left behind. She begins to doubt whether Thomas will return with help or not. Meanwhile, she feels that her condition is already getting worse.

In the end, she bets on her fate, crawls towards the Ether liquid, and opens the lid.

“If I die because of this, I’m going to haunt that bastard!”

She is gulping while holding the vial. After collecting her courage, she drinks the yellow liquid. Magically, her condition improves in a short time.

“Eh?”

In less than 5 seconds, all the symptoms she has felt since she was bitten by the snake are gone, except for the pain from the snake bite wound.

It’s so weird. She is sure that any type of anti-venom would at least take some time to cure her from the poison.

“No way! Who is that guy?”

She looks hectic, wanting to look for Thomas. Just as she tries to move her left leg, she still feels the pain in her left thigh.

And so, she picks the plastic bottle, and then pours a bit of the green liquid on the snake bite wound. She expects another miracle, but…

“Aarrgh!!!”

She screams because of the burn sensation after pouring the liquid on her wound. She convulses on the ground, clenching her fists so tightly, gritting her teeth so hard while enduring the excruciating pain.

“That bastard! I’m going to kill him!”
