13: An Act

Mr. Walter, his anger evident, addressed Claudia sternly, "You've humiliated my guest. This is unacceptable."

Ordering his guards with authority, he barked, "Escort them out. I won't tolerate such behavior in my celebration."

As the guards began leading Claudia and Mayor Skarsgard away, the mayor, seething with humiliation, hissed at Eric, "You've ruined everything. You think you're better than me?"

Struggling to control his rage, Mayor Skarsgard, his face twisted with anger, muttered, "I'd love to teach you a lesson right now."

Feeling the urge to retaliate physically, he admitted, "I want to hit you, but I won't. Too many eyes here. Can't risk my reputation as the city's mayor."

Claudia, attempting to calm the mayor, whispered, "Martin, stay calm. We'll get back at him later. Don't ruin things for yourself now."

Feeling defeated, Mayor Skarsgard reluctantly agreed to let the guards lead them out. And he shot a murderous glare at Eric before leaving.
