Your Move

When Duncan mentioned Dennis's ex-wife, his countenance changed. He gave Duncan a wry smile and said

"That won't be necessary, my Lord, she divorced me", Dennis said, and Lord Duncan was greatly shocked, as he wondered what kind of girl in her right mind would leave Dennis.

However, when Nurse Kuza heard that Dennis was divorced, she felt greatly relieved and could not conceal her happiness.

"What happened between you two?" Lord Duncan asked as the nurse pushed him slowly on the stretcher, accompanied by his granddaughter.

"I don't think it's something I want to talk about anymore," Dennis said softly.

"Of course, I understand. Well, thank you again, Mr Apollo", Duncan retorted, and Dennis gave a courteous nod

"I would like to take my leave now. I need to get some rest; I haven't had enough of that recently," Dennis said, and Lord Duncan smiled

"Alright, Mr Apollo",

"Yura", he called his granddaughter

"Please see to it that Mr Apollo is well compensated and take him back home", Duncan said, and Yura's face turned red in annoyance as she glared at Dennis

He smiled and said, "Do not bother Duncan. I can find my way home myself. I don't need to be accompanied. Your granddaughter should remain here with you and make sure you're okay," Dennis said, trying to refrain Lord Duncan from sending his granddaughter with him.

In truth, he was tired of having company and being surrounded by people all day; he just wanted a little moment of privacy where he could reflect and redefine his life now that he was no longer married to Sasha

"Nonsense", Lord Duncan replied,

"I don't need Yura here to take care of me. I have nurse Kuza for that, so Yura", he shifted his gaze to his granddaughter again,

"You will go with Mr Apollo here and ensure that he reaches his home safely and he gets anything he wants", Duncan persisted, and at this point, Dennis and Yura gave in.

"Fine, Grandpa," Yura said reluctantly, glaring at Dennis. As they reached the end of the hallway, Dennis stopped walking, and the doctor also stopped the stroller.

"I have to leave now, Lord Duncan. Get better soon," he said and turned to walk away

"Wait!" Kuza exclaimed and walked towards him nervously,

"Can I have your number?" She asked shyly, nervously twirling her auburn hair and averting her gaze to the ceiling

Dennis smiled, noticing how uncomfortable she looked; he extended his arm out for her phone

"Of course. You can keep me informed with the status of his health," he said, although knowing that was not the reason she asked for his number

Nurse Kuza handed him her phone, and Dennis typed in his number,

"Text me", he said teasingly and turned to walk away, with Yura trudging her feet beside him.

They reached the front yard, and a black Mercedes Maybach pulled up in front of them. The driver circled and opened the doors for them, and after they entered the backseat, he turned to the driver's seat, ignited the engine, and they were off to Dennis's house.

Meanwhile, after they left, Lord Duncan requested his phone and dialed his assistant. He instructed him to cancel all corporations and investments he made with Dennis's ex-wife's company to take revenge for him.

When Dennis and Yura arrived at his house, they saw about three cars parked on his street. Not paying much thought to it, thinking they were just the neighbors, Dennis and Yura unlocked the door and walked into the house.

Immediately, they were surrounded by several men in leather jackets, holding metal pipes, knives and bats, and Yura instantly became frightened.

However, some of the men looked familiar to Dennis, and when he looked past them, he saw his ex-wife's brother, Jack's injured face, standing in the back with his mother, and he could finally recall where he saw these men.

These were Jack's lackeys- gambling friends, motorcycle bike gangsters.

Jack had constantly threatened him with them while Dennis was still living with them, and often brought some of them home for beer and a football game.

"We've been waiting for you, Dennis", Jack sneered, approaching him confidently

"I told you this wasn't over, didn't I?" he said, glaring at Dennis

"You did this to me", he added and shot him a wry smile

"You dare lay your hands on me?!" He yelled,

"I'm a very dangerous man, Dennis, and now I will show you exactly how much. Now I'm going to return the favor" Jack said with a smile and walked away.

"Go ahead, boys," he said, raising his fingers, giving them the signal to attack

However, Yura sneered and turned to face Dennis, giving him a subtle look with a faint smile, and Dennis understood the look.

"Has he always been this arrogant?" She asked, unmoved by the threat

"Well, when he's not being a mummy's boy, he gets like this sometimes. It's very hard to tell apart most times cause both look the same, whiny and pathetic," Dennis said teasingly, looking directly at Jack, which infuriated him more

"That's it, you're dead!" He exclaimed, staring at Dennis evily, but then suddenly, they heard several cars pulling up outside the yard, and in a minute, the door swung open with tens of men in black suits entering the house and surrounding them. They all looked well-trained and strong, and some of them held pistols and police batons.

Yura had pressed the distress button and called them in while distracting Jack and his men with her little taunts.

This time she had carried her bodyguards along with her, and they looked ready for anything, greatly outnumbering Jack and his men.

Dennis saw the terrified looks on Jack's gangsters, and slowly, he walked towards Yura confidently and stood beside her, staring at Jack and his mother mockingly.

Jack and his mother remained unmoved as their eyes widened in shock, and their bodies trembled in fear.

"Looks like you're outnumbered, Jack," Dennis said with a cocky smile.

"What are you going to do?"
