“Hosh … hosh … I can’t do this anymore.”
[There are still 50 sit up, 30 push up, 55 jump squats, and 2 kilometers running left. Complete it before dawn comes and the hidden gift will be given.]
While lying on the ground and panting hard like some dying beast, Nash slowly regretted his decision this morning. Because of his inferiority complex towards Siegrid’s rank level, Nash asked the system if there was any shortcut to gain a new skill without defeating the beast first.
The system suddenly set a daily training for him; if he did not finish it in the meantime, a penalty would be imposed on him.
“C-can I continue it tomorrow morning?” Nash tried to bargain.
[No.]
“How cold,” he pouted his lips and heaved a resigned sigh. “Well, I’m the one who asked this. I need to finish it myself.”
He stood up with all his remaining strength and almost stumbled aside because his left leg felt numb. Nash smiled in sorrow and joked bitterly. “Ugh—I’m not sure if I’ll make it alive tomorrow, hahaha.”
However, after pushing himself until a point where Nash would want to faint, he managed to finish it. He returned to the stable and threw himself there, not caring at all about the smell worsening every second.
When Nash lay on his free bed, a hologram window suddenly appeared before him.

“There’s no way!”
He suddenly got up from his lying position and looked properly at the hologram window. Nash even rubbed his eyes just in case he saw it wrong.
“One coin is equal to one gold? Is this for real?”
Nash tried to exchange it as soon as the rewards arrived in his bank account, he tapped this and that, hoped if it was not another type of scam.
Plop!
A pocket bag with 50 gold coins inside it appeared in front of Nash’s face and fell to the ground.
(It’s really true.)
He wanted to jump and scream in happiness, but his pride came first, and Nash cleared his throat while picking up the pocket bag. He opened it and counted all the gold before heaving in satisfaction when knowing it was in the right amount without missing a coin.
“Hmmm, I think I want to eat a steak for dinner in that kind lady’s tavern which kicked me out last night.” Nash stretched his arms and got up with a new light on his face.
Well, he did like revenge. A sweet revenge.
But, current Nash would not even have time to think about revenge anymore because he was too busy dealing with a spider monster in front of him that kept baring its long teeth as if it wanted to poison him.
“What the hell is this place? Spider monster is not supposed to be on the first floor! They’re deceiving us! We’re just gonna die here!”
“Watch out!”
“Son, help me, AAAAAAARRRGGGHHH—!”
Thanks to all those noisy people, the spider monsters that spread around now came in Nash's direction, where he tried his best to protect them.
“Blow punch!”
POW!
The spider’s front leg exploded after getting Nash’s direct punch, and greenish blood splattered all over the floor.
“SCHREEEEEE!”
It got angry and sprinted toward Nash with its remaining legs. It tried to attack him using poisonous nails, but Nash could dodge it easily by sliding down under the spider monster's body. His strong aura still active, and he did not waste HP carelessly.
(I can do this.)
He centered the aura on wrapping around his right foot until it became strong enough to crush the sturdy skin of the spider monster.
“Blow kick, doubled!”
BOOM!
Everyone on that floor stopped their activities and turned head to the center, where a spider monster's dead flesh hung up on the ceiling after someone kicked it with full force. A green fluid started pouring down from the ceiling, which proved if that thing was truly dead.
“W-what the hell! He beat them up with just one kick!”
“Is he insane?”
“No, he’s a strong man!”
“Help me please, my daughter! The spider got my daughter!”
“No! Help me first, Mister!”
“Me first!”
Suddenly everyone yelled at Nash and asked for his help. Nash, who had just recovered his stamina a bit, became surprised at all the help requests.
He was surrounded from all directions until he could not see a gap to slip out.
“Huh—that’s what he got for boasting his strength like that. Poor Nash. He should take my advice and stay low, but he tried to show off and got his karma immediately. Isn’t that right, dear little foxie?” Siegrid, who had not even moved a single step from where he stood, brushed soft the fox girl’s silver hair, which was like soft and lustrous silk. He wondered how much people would pay for these rare strands if her hair could be sold.
However, she felt nothing except a thrill when Siegrid cold and big fingers ran through her hair strands. She bit her lips hard and closed her eyes in fear.
(I’m afraid. I’m afraid. I’m afraid.)
“Ack!”
“What’re you doing? Don’t close your eyes and keep the fire burning. You wanna get me killed, don’t you?”
She shook her head in fear while trying to apologize. “N-no, I’m just—”
SLAP!
“Don’t talk back to me, you lowly creature.”
The fox girl was stunned in her standing place when her cheeks were burning red from being slapped.
She wanted to cry.
(No, don’t cry!)
She wanted to run.
(Please, stay still!)
She was afraid.
(I … am afraid. I’m afraid. Someone, please … help me. Someone … just someone … there is … no one?)
(No one gonna help me?)
(I … am alone?)
She knew that. She knew that she was all alone from the first, no one would help her, nor could she fight against that man. She would just die in vain.
But would not it be better if she died rather than live as his slave and gets abused all the time?
Yes. She would do that. She just needed to find an idle monster and give herself to be eaten. Then, she would be free from this hellish world.
(Let's find a monster—)
“SIEGRIIIIIIIID!”
Suddenly, a high-pitched voice filled with burning wrath came from afar, making her look up to see who the voice’s owner was.
It was Nash, of course.
After defeating three monsters that surrounded the people who crowded around him, Nash went here at a fast speed after finding that Siegrid dared to lift his hand toward an innocent kid like her.
The rest monsters were dealt by other players that fired up after seeing the epic fight Nash gave to them. Alas, from fighting four spider monsters, Nash’s HP bar quickly reduced, and he needed to slow down if he did not want to faint from energy loss.
However, he did not care about his low HP bar and just dashed at his top speed while preparing a good punch to hit that Siegrid bastard.
Meanwhile, Siegrid, who was bored watching all the useless fighting and one-sided mass killing, found it exciting to fight with Nash, whom he had just met two nights ago.
“Come here, greenie! I’ll teach you some manners to your senior!” Siegrid grinned wide and made two smoke bombs on his palms, prepared to greet Nash’s coming attack.
“Aura blow punch, activate!”
BOOOOOOOOM!
“Is that all you have, Nash?” Siegrid smirked as he crossed his arms in front of his face to block Nash’s kick and trapped Nash’s feet on the smoke bomb that he had made before.Nash still failed even though he had given all his remaining stamina and now, his HP bar was in danger. It showed the difference between a newbie like him and an experienced player like Siegrid, who spent all his day playing Heaven of Terraria. When the logout button was removed, Siegrid was super excited and dedicated himself to being the strongest player in this game, even though it meant that he must kill, kidnap, rob, and do other crimes to achieve his dream. And now a greenie tried to challenge him? Of course, he would not let it go and teach him about the power hierarchy between them. Because in Heaven of Terraria, there were only two things that matter in this fictional world, power and money. If he could dominate one of those, Siegrid would be considered as an elite and could join a high-ranked guild i
Gasp!Like getting struck by lightning, Nash got up from his lying position and blinked several times, unable to comprehend what had just happened. He told the system to buy him a rejuvenation potion from the game store.Well, Nash just happened to know it because he saw another player who was injured from fighting and healed himself using that potion, but he did not know this potion would be so effective! His sore back from sleeping on the haystack even healed itself.“Still, 7 HC for one potion is too expensive,” murmured him while stretching his stiff shoulder muscles.Nash stood up and warmed up before looking around and seeing that he was left alone here. The second-floor door was closed and would not open again until he wiped out all the monsters here. Nash let out a plain laugh. “Hahaha, really? They didn’t even wait for me after I saved their lives from that 8-leg hairy monster?”The remaining spider monsters, who noticed there were still living humans, started to come out fro
“We can’t defeat that thing!”A depressive scream came out from a middle-aged man covered in bad bruises because of getting attacked, he even had to use a speak that stuck on the floor to support himself. His voice reached all the remaining group members that also share the same thought as him after trying to attack the monsters lied the third floor. After succeeding cleared the second floor with a small sacrifice, most of them thought that the next floor would also be easy to handle. However, their petty thought was scattered into pieces after watching the mass slaughter in front of their eyes.“Please, spare me! I’ll do anything you want! No! NOOOOOOOO!”CRASH—!He closed his eyelids strongly when the only monster in this room, a Gargoyle Guardian, crushed a poor woman's skull mercilessly using a giant stone mace. With that corpse, more than half group members had been killed brutally by that monster. The Gargoyle Guardian was a huge statue monster guarding the door leading to the p
The loud sound made everyone there turned their head to see what had happened. A heavy fog from the dust covered their sight and made some of them cough. The biggest culprit, Theodore, stumbled on the ground while trying to get up because of that explosion. The old lady showed an angry expression. “Theo—”“It’s not me! Okay? The door exploding itself!” But Theo defended himself quickly, saying that it was not his fault at all.Even though the commotion happened there, the giant Gargoyle did not move at all and stayed still at its original place, like a predator that waited patiently for its prey to come. The little fox girl, or Foxie, her current temporary name—even though it was better rather than being called ‘Hey’ or ‘You’ or ‘Trash’ and any other hurtful nicknames—ignored the commotion and focused to chew her first food for this day. She had been using her power in an excessive amount on the previous floor to burn the Flying Kick Bat monsters. She was grateful because she could sa
“Shut up, old hag. I still have business with him.” Siegrid pushed the old lady behind and faced Nash again with a fuming rage. His eyes glistened red, and Nash saw some veins on Sieg’s large forehead. “I’ll make you kneel and beg for my mercy, Bastard.”But Nash ignored him and walked past Siegrid to reach the old lady's place. He kneeled in front of her. “Are you okay, Madam?”The old lady nodded. “I’m alright, but don’t you supposed to feel angry with us because we left you behind?”Nash shrugged his shoulder lightly. “It’s a different matter. I’ll help you if you keep your promises, so it’s not a help but a business. How about that, Madam?”She looked at her companions and waited for their responses, but it did not take for too long for them to agree with Nash's statement. “Yes. We’ll agree with that. We’ll give you anything if you can bring us safely from this tower.”“Then, I’ll need a little help.” Nash heaved a relieved sigh and straightened his back. He looked around to see t
A fine looking girl with shoulder length hair and a flat bang came forward while holding her hand together. Her pale cheeks blushed red, which made her a perfect example of innocent beauty.“What’s your name, Miss?” asked Nash abruptly, almost raptured by her breathtaking look. But Nash could handle his facial expression and act normal, he must realize that it was not a right time to think about something useless like that. Nash needed to get out of this dungeon tower safely.“Ah … m-my name is Lisa.” Lisa, felt embarrassed because Nash was looking directly to her eyes. The real reason behind her willingness to volunteer was that Nash saved her life on the first floor back then and Lisa could not stop herself from not falling in love at the first sight with Nash.“Miss Lisa, are you a healer?”“Ah! Y-yes …,” murmured her, almost whispering. She even avoided direct contact with Nash, which made him started overthinking.Nash raised one of his eyebrows and looked around to see if everyo
“I can do this.” Greg took a deep breath and stepped forward, his heart racing with fear and adrenaline. He knew that he had to be brave and protect his team, but the memory of losing his best friend not long ago still weighed heavily on him.As he approached the towering Gargoyle Guardian and went inside the dangerous circle, his legs started to tremble, and his hands grew clammy. But he gritted his teeth and raised his shield, ready to take on the monster.“Come on! Big boy! Throw that mace!”The Gargoyle Guardian opened its eyes and swung its massive rock mace at him, but Greg was quick to dodge and counter with a fierce blow from his sword. He felt a surge of strength and courage as he fought, his muscles burning with exertion.Despite his fear, Greg continued to press the attack, determined to protect his team. He felt a newfound sense of purpose and bravery as he battled the Gargoyle Guardian, his heart pounding with every blow.“I hold him! Nash!!!!!” screamed Greg with all his
“Woah, this room is so big!” exclaimed Greg while walking inside the Breather. It was a wide room area which placed before the peak of the dungeon tower and used as a rest area. After defeating the Gargoyle Guardian monster, the Breather room door opened and everyone thundered in.“Oh—finally I can feel my feet again.”“Ahhhh, the air of temporary freedom is the best.”People started to chat with each other while sitting or lying on the ground, even some of them brought lunch and shared it together. That was unavoidable since being alive after defeating that gigantic monster sounded impossible.Well, that was true if half of the raid group members were mass killed before Nash came, but it all did not matter since everyone here was not close to each other and gathered here only because of money in the first place. Still, the grief of seeing death affected almost people here, let alone they did not reach the peak dungeon tower yet.“Excuse me, d-do you want a sandwich?” Nash, sitting an
