13. Dont Die Please!

“Is that all you have, Nash?” Siegrid smirked as he crossed his arms in front of his face to block Nash’s kick and trapped Nash’s feet on the smoke bomb that he had made before.

Nash still failed even though he had given all his remaining stamina and now, his HP bar was in danger. It showed the difference between a newbie like him and an experienced player like Siegrid, who spent all his day playing Heaven of Terraria.

When the logout button was removed, Siegrid was super excited and dedicated himself to being the strongest player in this game, even though it meant that he must kill, kidnap, rob, and do other crimes to achieve his dream.

And now a greenie tried to challenge him? Of course, he would not let it go and teach him about the power hierarchy between them. Because in Heaven of Terraria, there were only two things that matter in this fictional world, power and money.

If he could dominate one of those, Siegrid would be considered as an elite and could join a high-ranked guild in the capital. In order to do that, Siegrid needed the money that was placed on the peak tower to start his long journey.

Meanwhile, Nash gritted his teeth and thought quickly about escaping from the smoke chain that firmly clutched his feet.

(His skills are annoying.)

BUAGH!

“You must learn to respect your senior properly and not touch others’ belonging.” Without mercy, Siegrid spun around and threw Nash harshly to the side. His back bumped hard into the tower wall, and a painful groan let out from his mouth.

(Shit, I can’t move—uhuk! I need to fight—)

Nash lost consciousness and fainted right away.

“No!” The little fox girl held her scream when she saw Nash almost dying, with blood coming out from his mouth. She wanted to run and approach him, but as soon as her bare feet moved forward, the leash on her neck suddenly tightened and strangled her.

“KU-HUK!”

Siegrid, who noticed her loud cough, pulled back the leash, making that little girl stumble backward. “Where’d you want to go, huh? You wanna help that man? You like him because he showed you a little kindness?”

“You have me, I can show you kindness too, if you are that desperate. You know, in bed tonight. How about that? Sounds exciting, right?”

“Heuk, heuk ….” She was scared and buried her head down, avoiding Siegrid’s hungry eyes that kept looking at her from head to toe.

“Tch, don’t try to run again from me, or I’ll cut both your feet. Understand?” asked Siegrid again with a threatening tone.

“Y-yes …,” answered that girl while peeking at Nash's body that lay near the wall, not moving at all.

(D-does he die? P-please, don’t die.)

Moving from those three, the situation around was almost resolved. There were some players with fire skills who burned the spider monsters alive and the remaining of them ran in fear, hiding in their nests made from their webs.

Silence engulfed the room, and all people there before a clanking sound came from a man that kept holding his spear and put down the spear on the floor. He cried out loud in happiness and great relief.

“W-WE DID IT! WE DEFEAT THOSE SCARY MONSTERS!”

His screaming hyped up everyone there, and everyone started throwing their weapon, then hugged each other to celebrate the momentary win. Even the real players, that knew if it was only the first floor joined the celebration.

[Congratulation on completing the first floor of Schlydia Tower.]

[The door to the second floor will open, please prepare yourself.]

The hype soon died when the system announced that the second floor would be opened in a moment, which means they did not even have time to rest for a second. Looking around, almost half of the group raid members died on the first floor.

It scared the gut out of everyone there. What if they never made it back alive?

What if they would just die here along with the treasure?

KRIEEEEEEK!

The massive door across the entrance gate opened and showed long, twisted stairs that go upward. Like before, a chilling aura emerged from inside the door and scared everyone there. They wanted to survive. Wasn’t it better to wait here while someone cleared this tower?

Tuk. Tuk. Tuk. Tuk.

The first person who stepped forward was Siegrid again. He walked with pride all over his face, confident that he could finish this tower using the girl’s firepower and his smoke element—such a perfect combination to threaten someone and rob all their belongings.

He would be famous here.

He would be known as Siegrid, the greatest and strongest man ever. Not Siegrid, who was poor and antisocial in real life.

However, his pride was soon crushed when he heard a familiar voice coming from inside the second floor. His face turned in horror, and only the fox girl saw his dreadful expression before it returned to normal.

(W-what happen?)

She was curious about what had happened to him.

“Let’s go.” Siegrid did not let that ominous voice sway his ambition and kept moving.

(I’ll survive and become the strongest, whatever it costs, even if I need to kill everyone here.)

“Y-yes,” answered the girl and followed him behind. They climbed the winding stairs and got closer to the second floor, gleaming with white light. She turned her head back and saw Nash’s condition again, but that man did not move and was still unconscious.

(Don’t die, please, I haven’t said thanks for your help before.)

After Siegrid and that girl disappeared, everyone there gulped down their saliva and started moving one by one.

Even if they wanted to stay there until someone else finished the tower, the spider monsters would eat them in the meantime. So, it was useless to wait there, and they had no choice except to keep moving and try their best to survive.

“Hey, do you think we need to wake him up?” Two last people waiting their turn to climb the stairs noticed Nash lying unconscious there. “He saved our lives earlier, didn’t he?”

“Then what?” asked the other one while scoffing shortly. “We are all coming here to survive and get that fucking gold. If he wakes up and joins the group again, our gold portion will be reduced. You want that, huh?”

“O-Of course, no!”

“Then let’s just leave him here and get eaten by those monsters.”

“Yes …,” answered that person while walking away from Nash and climbing the stairs toward the second floor.

The door slowly closed and trapped Nash with all the dead bodies on the first floor. He was still unconscious, but his mind was active. It was all thanks to the system that kept chanting his achievement after defeating many spider monsters.
