"Hey, is the boss here now?" Timothy asked the secretary that was working on with a stack of papers.
She looked at Timothy, annoyed, and sighed before saying, "No, that man did run off again, leaving all of the paperwork to me as usual. So, I hope you are not in trouble or did something horrible again, as I absolutely do not have the time to deal with it now."
The secretary said, before releasing a deep breath of exhaustion as she looked at the stack of papers that are still waiting to be done, “If you see him, do tell him to go to hell for me, okay?”
"Oh, don't worry, I may actually have a new employee for us. Here would be the recommendation papers that I wanted to give to the boss," Timothy answered while looking at the secretary.
"Oh, just leave them at the boss’s table like usual. He will check them out later when he comes back.” The secretary replied and continued giving such a tired smile to Timothy, “Don't worry, I will remind him about it, but you have to buy me lunch as I cannot do all of this alone. I know you will also run away after leaving the papers at his office."
Her eyes trail off to the papers Timothy hands out as she rubs her tired eyes, showcasing her eye bag and wrinkles, suggesting she had been working for a long time. She even had yesterday’s food beside her table.
Embarrassed that he's thoughts were revealed, he grabbed the trash beside her desk to throw them away for her and answered. "Sorry, but you know I'm more of a brute than an office worker, so I wouldn't be good at handling those papers. But I promise if the boss allows, I will look for another person to help you out later then."
"Thank you. I hope the boss would approve it as even when we are the only company that provides the energy for the whole town, most of our workers are outside, and there are five or so left inside the city. And to top all that, I am the only one who knows how to handle the paperwork.”
“What can I say? You’re the best at this job.”
“Well, being the best at this job sucks.” The secretary complains as they both laughed; she continued to explain, “Our boss likes to run away and spent time outside even when he should handle all of the crucial papers. I wonder how he managed to build this company while being a playboy. I want a year of paid rest day or salary increase if this continues."
“Must be difficult.”
The secretary was complaining out while being tired to the bone and fed up with the paperwork in front of her, “Well, at least, I’m not out there risking my life like you.”
"Marie, I promise to look at another person to help you. So don't give up now; otherwise, this company would be doomed as we cannot do anything without your work," Timothy said while smiling at Marie, who was their company's backbone now and the only one they could rely on.
"Thank you for the sweet words, but I want food. When you head out, can you place an order for me to the near restaurant? Remember the one I like?" Marie said while being dead tired.
"The happy drunk fish? Yeah, I remember that one." Timothy said while weighing his coin purse.
"Don't worry, I will pay you back later on," Marie said.
"Okay, let me just place these papers on the desk, then I will be out from here," Timothy said while placing his coin purse back to his pocket, “One happy drunk fish coming right up!”
“Yes, please.”
He walked to a small office where there was only one desk and a chair.
It didn't look like the office of the most influential person in the city at all, but rather looked more like a rundown office of a small company.
But their boss spent more time outside wooing ladies and playing around than in the office, so it was mostly not used.
Timothy left the papers in the middle of the table so the boss could see them before leaving the office.
"Marie, I'm leaving now, so take care and good luck with the paperwork. I will place the order of some dishes for you when I pass the restaurant." Timothy said while waving at Marie, who only nodded at him.
Timothy walked a few hundred meters before coming to a rather large restaurant. When he walked inside, he suddenly had to watch out for a flying bottle of wine. Timothy easily evaded it and continued to watch the scene.
"You son of a bitch! She's my wife that you touched!" A rather large man that was entirely a wasted said to a skinny but a handsome person who had one of his hands on a woman's cleavage and the other one in her butt.
The handsome man had that charming dirty blonde hair with captivating light blue eyes that would make one definitely stare and a rather slender face that matches his facial proportions. Despite the assault against him, his hands are still wantonly trying to take advantage of the married woman.
"Hey! It's not my fault! I couldn't guess a pretty flower-like her would have an ape for a husband.” He says as the woman swoons over him, he continued, “So I only did keep some company to her nothing else, so why are you shouting at me that loudly? It's your fault being so ugly." and when he saw Timothy standing not far from them looking dumbfounded, he suddenly shouted.
"Timothy, my friend! Can you protect your boss and show this wildlife some manners as I know you speak the language of brutes more than me?"
Timothy tried to turn his back away, “Nope, not this time, you’re on your own, you Cassanova.”
But it was too late not to get into a mess; the brute suddenly turned towards Timothy, who was not sure to laugh or cry due to the current situation. The brute’s face was truly ugly; Timothy couldn’t help but laugh a little.
'Tsk. I really have had bad luck today as they say when rains, it really pours…' Timothy thought to himself bitterly after remembering that earlier, his baby maker was kicked after trying to help. Now, his boss is asking for help, while a brute is looking at him with anger. He didn’t even do anything, but nevertheless, he knew it was another day of fightings about useless stuff.
Left with no choice, he removed his hoodie and started walking towards the brute.
"I apologize for my boss's behavior, but if you can forget my boss's response, I will buy you the next five rounds of drinks and dinner. Otherwise, I have to deal with you personally. It will be really unfortunate if-" Before he could even finish what he was saying, there was a fist flying towards him. "I guess you chose the hard way then," Timothy said with disappointment, as he moved to block the incoming attack.
"Timothy! Watch out! There is someone-“ Timothy’s boss tried to warn him, but he was too late, Timothy was already bleeding, someone hit him at the back of his head. Timothy’s boss continued making such a painful face as if he was the one who got hurt, “Oh, ouch, that must have hurt…" Timothy saw stars for a moment, and blood and wine were dripping out from his head; he was still dizzy, but he gained his composure and mocked his attackers, “What a cheap trick to hit behind my back.” “It’s tactic, you piece of sh*t.” “Yeah- a lazy one.” Timothy continued Suddenly the attacker behind Timothy grabbed him and started to choke Timothy. He said to the ape looking man in front of him, “Boss, I got him to let's teach him some manners now." The ape looking man didn't let this opportunity go and started to throw punches at Timothy simultaneously and powerful ones. Timothy couldn't do anything than receive those vicious hits to his stomach. Timot
"Don't say you got in trouble again? I can feel it. “ Marie said as Silas arrived, trying to hide from her; she continued, “No, I actually don't want to know as I still have all of these papers that you pushed at me on.” Silas laughed jokingly and said, “Don’t say that. You’re the best there is, after all.” “Timothy left you something at your table," Marie said as she rolls her eyes, then she averts her gaze, looking at her boss, tired of his behavior. "Marie, my sweet Marie, do you know how much I do love that attitude of yours? You also know I'm useless with paperwork and better at making connections and money, right?" Silas said while looking at Marie, who suddenly grabbed the closest object from her, that was an inkbottle, and threw it at her boss. "Ayay!" Silas caught it and said, "Marie, you are lucky that the ink bottle is closed and not open. “You know I'm not a masochist, but for you, I will make an exemption and let you dominate me a
Silas was so excited and was experiencing such a thrill. He was rushing his way to meet Arwin that he didn't saw the people, so he ended up bumping into lots of objects and people without caring about them and just getting up and continuing running. He says carefreely, “Sorry about that; I’m about to meet someone truly remarkable!” Everyone looked at him- all were estranged, but he didn’t care. Silas has his eyes set on meeting Arwin. Finally, when he got to the office, he barged inside, making the employees jump up for their seats, scaring some of them completely. They were remarking, “You scared the crap out of us. Why are you here?” The guards automatically threw their weapons out, but when they saw that Silas was unarmed, they placed their swords in halfway on their scabbard, ready to draw them at any time if Silas would show any signs of hostility. Silas was welcomed with protests, “Silas, what the hell was that? Do you kno
"Timothy, how did you get in that condition so quickly? Oh wait- let me guess- was it because Silas and some woman once again?" The doctor said while starting to rummage through his medical equipment. Timothy coughed roughly and said, “Well, what else do you expect?” "Sit down, you know the drill, and that this will hurt a little bit. Just bear with it." The doctor said as he started to clean the wounds on Timothy's head. "Argh! Even though I have gone through this so many times, it always stings like hell." Timothy was complaining while trying not to make any sounds bearing the pain as usual, “How does it look, Doc?” The doctor teased him, “Apart from all the mess I’ve seen you in? This is just a playground scratch for you.” Timothy laughs, fighting the urge to scream in pain. The doctor saw how much pain he was in, and he explained. "It's even worse when there is dried alcohol and pieces of shattered glass all over your hair or skin,
"Y..yo...you are saying that she is that Arwin? She wrote this all? A...and I just made an identification card for a male when it should have been made for a female?" Silas finally muttered out as he sat down on the nearest chair, concerned, “Are you trying to curse me for what I did earlier? Are you kidding me right now?” Silas looked at the doctor to confirm this. The doctor looked away as he chuckled nervously, “Ah, yes, she’s a woman.” "Yes, that is what I'm saying. Who asked you to rush things without even meeting the person first? This is entirely your fault, Silas." Timothy said out while looking at Silas, almost mockingly. He was really having fun seeing his boss like that. It felt like the perfect payback for what happened earlier; Timothy can’t help but grin. "You know, Timothy, this small card costs fifty gold coins now. It cannot be undone when it's done once. So, if you don't want to pay the new one from your own salary, and this one top of it, y
Timothy told Rosa everything that had happen earlier- trying to make it sound less gruesome and violent as it originally was. After retelling the events earlier, Rosa said to him, "You know I have never liked Silas. He is just an annoying asshole. I still don't know why you are working under him. Ah, my poor husband." She reached out and carefully touched his chest, “I think you should consider quitting.” "Me neither, my dear Rosa, I don’t like him- not even by a little BIT. Still, I have to try and endure a little bit, my sweetheart.” Timothy’s eyes sparked with determination as he continued, “I have a plan; listen to me. All of this enduring is to get money to start a life here again as in the mainland, it didn't work out, and we both have fallen love with this continent already. I always thought that if I endured and managed to find a mechanic for Silas who could rebuild or repair the airship, we can steal it after that. For the crew, of course, we would t
The next morning arrived as the sun touches Timothy’s face. He woke up; he immediately ate breakfast before heading towards the doctor's clinic His wife was still cooking some food; Rosa tried to stop him and shouts, “Are you leaving already? I cooked you your favorite!” “Thanks! I’ll be having them later! Save me some, okay?” Timothy shouts back as he left. He was more than eager to meet Arwin, but as he stepped inside, he saw Mark cleaning the office like usual. He thought of Mark as some clean freak kind of guy. Timothy’s eyes immediately searches for her clinic bed, and there he saw Arwin was still peacefully sleeping. It was a relief for him. "Hello, Mark, is the old man awake yet?" Timothy asked. Before the other man could answer, the doctor shouted out. "Yes, I'm in the kitchen. Come and join me for a cup of tea." “Well, you heard him,” Mark replied with such a straight face, he rarely shows emotions, and when he does- i
Arwin looked confusedly around her; she didn't recognize the current room where she was, but she recognized it as a clinic after watching a little bit around of her and seeing all of the things related to medicine. She could feel his head throbbing, an intense pain making her uncomfortable. She suddenly remembered how scare she felt last night. Arwin knew she couldn’t hear anything. But before she has the time to worry about herself, she suddenly saw an old man coming out from a door, and she put her guard up, but when she saw Timothy behind the old man, she relaxed somewhat before saying. It was a familiar silhouette, Arwin thought. She recognized the young man. "You saved me? Thank you so much, and sorry for being a burden. I haven't even caught your name, and you already brought me to a clinic." Arwin says as she sat back down on her hospital bed. "My name is Timothy, and the man next to me is Jonn, even when we mostly call him an old man o
