Chapter 7: Shared Passion.

"Big brother and third brother have clearly had major issues managing the corporation for years. The James Corporation, with its financial clout, joining the corporation isn't necessarily bad, but it's a pity that the family legacy my father left behind has turned from a family enterprise into a public corporation." Anselm said slowly, his expression complex.

He was holding a newspaper, which reported that the Miller Corporation's jewelry division was undergoing major restructuring, with Chairman Joe announcing a new direction for the corporation.

"Ariel, you worry too much about things that don't concern you. Have you ever seen your father give you a second glance or hand over management of the corporation?" Ariel showed no sympathy for Anselm, slowly saying: "From now on, just focus on following the newly appointed Chairman Joe. The corporation is now treating all the smaller workshops fairly. You're still a nominal shareholder, and after so many years, you'll finally be able to attend meetings in the X-Peak building."

"Ha ha, that's true." Anselm laughed helplessly: "Anyway, it seems like our family's days are gradually getting better."

Dulcie's face lit up with a satisfied smile, sweeping away the tiredness from earlier, as her family finally found harmony.

"By the way, Dulcie, I saw in the news that Chairman Joe wants to strengthen the corporation, initiating a complete overhaul, and has announced a large-scale recruitment of jewelry designers. You are very professional in this area. Have you considered contributing some of your creative jewelry designs?" Theophilus casually mentioned, holding a newspaper in his hand.

"What do you know about jewelry when you just sell skewers all day?" Ariel dismissed Theophilus without any respect: "Dulcie is an expert in this field. Does she need your advice?"

Theophilus smiled sheepishly, saying no more.

He knew his wife Dulcie had studied jewelry design at university and, due to family reasons, had a great interest in precious metals and stones.

He had even seen Dulcie buried in designing jewelry in her room countless times, only to crumple all her drafts into scraps.

Becoming a renowned jewelry designer and creating world-famous gemstone jewelry seemed to be her aspiration.

However, at the Miller Jewelry Corporation, Dulcie was just an ordinary employee. Additionally, her family was suppressed by Eugene, the board chairman, and her designs had never been accepted by the management.

Therefore, what Theophilus had arranged for Leighton to do was a gift for Dulcie, helping her fulfill her dream.

"Hmm…" Dulcie seemed interested, taking the newspaper from Theophilus and seriously considering it for a moment, her demeanor showing slight excitement.

"Theophilus's suggestion isn't bad, I'll give it a try." Dulcie said.

"Right, if it weren't for our daughter's jewelry designs being sidelined in the company these past few years, she would have already become a famous designer." Ariel boasted, plotting: "Go for it, daughter. The company is currently undergoing changes, and the previous employees of the eldest and third brothers have stepped aside. This could be your opportunity."

"I understand." Dulcie said, eager to try.

Theophilus, nonchalantly eating, as if offhandedly mentioned: "Dulcie, have you thought of any designs? Actually, I have an idea for jewelry."

"You understand how to design gold and gemstone jewelry?" Dulcie asked in surprise.

Theophilus smiled and said: "It's just a childhood hobby, unfortunately, I couldn't pursue it."

As a child, he had followed a mentor to learn about assessing and carving ancient gold and gemstones, becoming a true expert in the field. He had handled countless precious items, so naturally, his skills couldn't be underestimated.

"Really?" Dulcie was extremely intrigued: "Then tell me about it."

Sharing a common interest is always an engaging topic, and Dulcie was obviously very interested.

After dinner, Dulcie went to her room and pulled out several design drafts from her drawer.

"Theophilus, come to my room for a bit."

Ariel and Anselm exchanged glances; despite Theophilus having been married into the family for two years, he had never once entered their daughter's room.

Theophilus rose and walked into Dulcie's room.

He shook his head and smiled, realizing that this was actually the first time he had stepped into his wife's room.

The room's arrangement was incredibly exquisite, with a pink mattress and wardrobe, a cartoon teddy bear on the bedside shelf, and an alluring scent that permeated the heart.

"These are parts of the manuscript you designed before. I want to test you a bit. Take a look, can you articulate the ideas in it?" Dulcie sat down, placing the document on the worktable, her vibrant eyes fixating on Theophilus.

"Let me see." Theophilus picked up the manuscript from the worktable, carefully examining it thoroughly.

"Hmm, this necklace design of yours is in the style of symbolic school, inspired by the 'heart of the sea,' right?" Theophilus said with a smile.

"And this emerald necklace design, the pine tree leaning towards the sunlight, is in the realistic landscape style, but with a bit of implied meaning, very good."

"This gold necklace draft, a blend of classic design and technical craftsmanship, requires an artisan to inlay with meticulous, proficient, unhurried, but also creative skills."

Theophilus slowly opened a volume of the manuscript, whispering as if he had memorized Dulcie's designs.

In Dulcie's eyes was full of amazement, her cherry lips parted, staring unblinkingly at Theophilus.

She hadn't expected Theophilus to have such profound knowledge in jewelry design, to be able to understand her drafts!

"Theophilus, I didn't expect you to be so knowledgeable." Dulcie said softly, looking at Theophilus with renewed eyes.

Theophilus just smiled, saying nothing.

"Actually, I've long had a design idea that I'm very pleased with, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to realize it yet, to turn it into a finished product." Dulcie said solemnly.

"This jewelry needs to be made with extremely precious diamonds, which I don't have access to. Previously, the corporation didn't accept it either..." Dulcie slowly spoke, her expression showing a hint of regret.

She took out a finely crafted rosewood box from the drawer, opened it, and took out a thick manuscript.

"This is my favorite design, but I still haven't thought of a good name for it." Dulcie handed over the document.

Theophilus took the document, seriously looking through it.

The more he looked, the more surprised he became.

It's undeniable, in terms of jewelry design, Dulcie indeed is a gift.

It's just that she wasn't valued at the company, coupled with her family's circumstances, which limited her development.

This part of the manuscript was a necklace, very delicate, with unique inspiration. If it could be launched, it would surely cause a sensation in the jewelry world.

"Actually, for the face design part, I think adding an arch design and small carvings would be good. In terms of material selection, it must be the highest quality colored diamonds, and the material must be a large diamond block, not fragments." Theophilus said seriously, sharing his perspective.

"But isn't it a bit too extravagant? The manufacturing cost is too high, making it difficult to produce a final product." Dulcie hesitated.

"No, it's not." Theophilus reassured her: "You need to believe in yourself, as if you're designing the world's top luxury jewelry."

"For the details on the necklace, you can use the artisanal inlay technique. It will add a classical and elegant touch but still be fashionable." Theophilus explained slowly, pointing out the key details.

The more Dulcie listened, the brighter her clear eyes shone, intently focusing on Theophilus.

After half an hour of discussion and exchange...

They finally edited and finalized the design.

Dulcie looked extremely satisfied, gazing fondly at the design document.

"It's wonderful, Theophilus, your artistic level is really high." Dulcie complimented.

"I just borrowed ideas from others." Theophilus modestly replied: "The concepts were all yours, I just added a few details."

"No, it's a combined effort from both of us." Dulcie asserted.

"Alright, it's as you say." Theophilus agreed.

"I've decided to use this design as my first move, to send it to Chairman Joe." Dulcie said determinedly.

"But what should we name it?" Dulcie pondered, pursing her lips in thought.

After a moment, Theophilus suggested: "World King.”

“World King? King of the world?" Dulcie asked, curious.

"Yes, king of the world." Theophilus smiled: "Have you ever watched Titanic? There's a classic scene where the protagonist Leonardo stands at the bow of the ship embracing the ocean."

"I really like that iconic line, I am the king of the world. I am the king of the world!”

"Of course, I've seen Titanic. The script in that scene you mentioned is really great!" Dulcie's eyes sparkled, recalling the image and feeling a surge of inspiration.

Theophilus' suggestion was indeed brilliant!

"King of the world!" Dulcie said excitedly: "Let's go with it. World King!”

After saying that, Dulcie wrote the name on the necklace design.

Shortly after, Dulcie completed the design and sent it to the email of Chairman Joe, Leighton.

The same day, after the family finished dinner, they received a response.

Chairman Joe's response: 'A great idea! Come to the company tomorrow and then directly to my office for a meeting.'

The acknowledgment of her work exhilarated Dulcie.
