A Brand New Look

Amanda remained silent as she listened to Sebastian.

“I’ll be visiting the company very rarely due to a few things, so I’ll leave most of the company’s affairs to you from now on.

“Thomas has told me a lot about you, I’m quite impressed with your great dedication to Skyzone Company, and the position of Deputy Director is now yours. You deserve it!”

Amanda was really surprised to hear this. The position of Deputy Director? Oh, it was like a dream for her!

But even though her heart was pounding and her blood was boiling with excitement, Amanda’s demeanor was as calm as water. She never seemed to be affected by Sebastian’s words.

“And one more thing: you must have heard about my family’s bad reputation,” Sebastian continued with a slightly grim face. “So I hope you won’t reveal my identity as the new owner of the Skyzone Company, at least until I’ve managed to clear up my family’s tainted reputation.”

Amanda couldn’t help nodding her head. She had lived in Luxington Hill since the day she was born, so of course, Amanda knew exactly what had happened to the Cole family.

Amanda had never really cared for the Cole family. She had no enmity with them, but neither did she have a close friendship.

In fact, she had only met Sebastian twice in her entire life. Once at the graduation ceremony and once here.

“Amanda,” Sebastian called, realising that the girl was daydreaming. “Although you have most of the control here, the important decisions for this company still rest with me. You cannot simply accept or enter into partnerships with other companies without my permission. Do you understand?”

Amanda nodded her head as she said, “I do, sir. A few days ago, our company received an offer of cooperation from the third largest company in this city. They want to be the main supplier of furniture for our big project on the south coast. I’ll take the files if you…”

Just before Amanda finished her sentence, Sebastian signaled the girl to stop.

“The third largest company in Luxington Hill, isn’t it owned by the Anderson family, currently owned by Darvis Anderson?” asked Sebastian, looking directly into Amanda’s eyes.

“Absolutely, sir.”

Suddenly the smile on Sebastian’s face grew very wide. His face turned bright red. His teeth chattered. He looked like he was about to get angry, but with a smile that wide, it would be truly frightening no matter how you looked at it.

“Refuse this cooperation immediately.”

Amanda was shocked. “Sorry, sir. But did I hear wrong?”

“You didn’t hear wrong, Amanda. Refuse to co-operate with them,” Sebastian repeated.

“But, sir, they are one of the most influential companies in this city. Cooperating with them will only benefit us.”

At that moment, Amanda suddenly felt disappointed in Sebastian. She had previously thought of him as a charismatic man with strong business instincts, but his attitude now contradicted that assumption.

Sebastian came across as a snotty, naive and completely untalented businessman.

“Amanda…” Sebastian said very quietly. His eyes looked seriously at the girl. “Darvis Anderson just got engaged to Julia Brown. They had a very big and long celebration! All of Luxington Hill knew about their engagement, special guests from the upper crust even took the time to visit. Now the couple must be enjoying a very sweet honeymoon with no one to disturb them. So come on, there’s no need to bother them with all this complicated business.

Hearing this, Amanda was completely stunned. She couldn’t say anything for this completely absurd reason.

“Anyway, I know someone who also owns a large furniture business. I’m sure he won’t let us down.”

Sebastian picked up a piece of paper before starting to write down the contact details of the person he was referring to.

Amanda was surprised when she saw the paper. “Sir, haven’t you written down the wrong contact? You wrote down the name and phone number of Darius Wong, the owner of the largest furniture company in the country. I thought that was…”

Sebastian interrupted, “I didn’t write it wrong, Amanda. Why do you always doubt me?”

Amanda immediately waved her hand. “Sir, please don’t misunderstand me. I don’t want to doubt you, but working with Darius Wong is almost impossible for us. He is one of the five wealthiest men in the country. Even if you had known him in the past, it would still be difficult to work with his company.

“You underestimate me, Amanda.” Sebastian chuckled softly before going back to scribbling on the paper. “Give this paper to Darius Wong and the rest depends on how you present our big project to them. Good luck.”

After finishing his business with Amanda, Sebastian headed to the city’s shopping center to buy some personal items and get a shave.

When he walked out of the salon after he had finished improving his appearance, Sebastian was a completely different person. He was almost unrecognizable as Sebastian Cole who appeared a few days ago!

His beard had been shaved off, leaving him with a slick, clean-cut face. With all the money in the world, he can even buy some magic formula to make his hair healthy and tidy again.

Sebastian Cole has become a young and handsome man!

As he walks to the sound of his loafers, Sebastian looks no different from any other tycoon. Some women even blatantly winked at him.

“You look even more handsome without that beard, Master! What’s even cooler is that you managed to get 2 God Points for spending the money on something that can increase your dominance in this world.” Mia smiled brightly when she saw Sebastian’s new look. “What are you going to do after this?”

Sebastian didn’t answer until he spotted something very interesting from behind the window of a fancy restaurant on the side of the road.

‘Uh, isn’t that Julia’s family with her fiancé? What are they doing here?’

Sebastian then thought that perhaps the Brown family’s meeting with the Anderson family had something to do with the Skyzone Company turning down a big contract.

Sebastian felt there was no harm in getting closer and finding out.

He put on a mask and sunglasses to hide his identity, then went into the restaurant.

With a very neat appearance, Sebastian no longer experienced rejection from the restaurant. No, he wasn’t homeless. Even a waiter politely served him personally.

Sebastian hadn’t felt this way in a long time.

Just a few days ago, walking into a fancy restaurant and sitting down for lunch was a dream that would probably never come true in his life.

Sebastian walked over to an empty table not too far from theirs.

Sitting here, he wouldn’t be in the limelight, but he would still be able to overhear the conversation between the two families.

“Sir, what have you chosen for lunch?”

Without looking at the menu, Sebastian replied in a low voice, “Please bring the best lunch set you have.”

“Of course, sir. Please wait a moment and your lunch will be here shortly. Thank you!”

After the waiter left, Sebastian immediately strained his ears to hear the entire conversation from the table next to him.

Darvis Anderson, with a pale face, said to Julia’s parents, “I ask for your understanding. I have no idea why the Skyzone Company rejected my proposal. In fact, I was sure it would be 100% successful. This is something beyond my control, so please stop blaming me!”

Julia’s mother scoffed, “There is no way they would just reject your proposal after saying they would accept it. You must have offended someone so important to the Skyzone Company that they are no longer interested in you! I don’t care, your engagement to Julia should be cancelled anyway”.

Sebastian raised both eyebrows in surprise after hearing Mrs Brown’s words.
