Ethan didn't want to lose the fake painting, so he immediately bid the high price without mincing words.

When Ethan made a sound, all the guests fell silent, making the hall completely deserted. The price he offered was huge and seemed shocking, even to those who were used to big numbers in the auction world.

Some of the other guests could only swallow their bitterness in smiles. The price of the painting had skyrocketed, beyond the limit of what they were prepared to pay. They felt that this painting had been too expensive for them, and they reluctantly admitted defeat in their quest to acquire it.
