Chapter 56

Taxes walked into her garage, grabbed her tractor, and drove straight to where she had left Alabama, freezing in the cold under the busk of night. She stepped out and approached him. As he held his little cross, she could tell he was praying.

"Get up, old man, your prayers have been answered. I have hot coffee in my house," she offered, surprising him.

Alabama stared at her hand, which she laid out for him to grab.

"I don't have time, old man, get up quickly before you become a target for the other players," she advised.

She was correct, based on his options and the experience he experienced with the first players he encountered. He'd be dead if she wanted him to be.

He grabbed the hand and was led to the tractor's passenger seat. And she drove them back to her house.

"What do you take, coffee or tea?" She inquired.

He turned and stared at her, his confused expression still stumped on his face. "Coffee will do... thanks," he replied.
