Chapter 28:. Knowledge

Al'ravee currently found himself in an empty black room. A couple of files, arranged neatly, were placed in front of him.

This pod was employed in the current time for playing games but Al'ravee had seen it as a way to speed up the last thing on his to-do list. This pod was going to load large amounts of information at a terrifying speed into his brain. No normal human would be able to experience this without entering a permanent vegetable state later on.

To avoid interruptions, Al'ravee made sure that the pods' body was made of the toughest alloys and could only be opened from the inside. The glass panel in front of his face happened to be the toughest material of the entire pod.

He stretched out his hand to touch the file to the far left.

[Languages]

Al'ravee shook his head, for personal reasons, he was not willing to learn any more languages of planet Green Cloud. He moved to the next.

[Fictional Stories]

It seemed he would be starting with fictional stories. With a mental suggestion, the file transformed into a mass of blue codes before seeping into his virtual body, bit by bit.

Al'ravee could feel it. The content information of many novels written by different authors was funneled into his brain. Each book with chapters not less than five hundred. Some books having up to three thousand chapters.

These novels were the best of the best, with the most heart-wrenching cliffhangers and fantastic plots.

Time flew by fast, a little too fast. By the time it was done with the transfer, three years had passed. Al'ravee sighed as he looked at the timer. Over a thousand fictional novels, just like that. He imagined how a school would have been with this kind of technology.

Moving on to the next file.

[Art]

The transfer began. This file focused more on artistic education like painting, drawing, writing, speech, sculpting, etc.

This particular file took Al'ravee twenty years to digest completely.

[Commerce]

This set of info contained both simple and hard steps to setting up businesses, all things to account for, and policies to follow. Al'ravee learned that becoming a successful businessman in the world the way he did was only possible because of the large amount of money he had as well as the presence of those martial art experts beforehand. If not, it would have taken a much longer time.

Ten years were spent on commerce.

[Politics]

Just like Murry said, politicians would laugh anytime they saw actors trying to behave like them in movies. The things politicians go through annually just to maintain their status would make weak-minded people give up. You could almost pity them.

Both official and unofficial information concerning politics were open to Al'ravee. He could finally understand the way those ministers under him thought. This transfer took seven years to complete.

[Psychology]

Next was psychology. Not much was there but all the information was worth it. If used with politics well, it could ensure streaks of success. Three years were taken for this transfer.

[Math]

In a way, math was the simplest subject in existence, yet, also the hardest. Not every problem has a formula to solve and formulas could have variables, variables have steps to take to counter them, the steps could be too long or short, some steps have deviations, and some deviations have multiple answers, those answers can lead to more questions.

Everything had math, everything. Fifty years were spent trying to understand as many aspects of math as possible.

[All Inclusive Science]

Science, the study of the physical and natural world using theoretical models and data from experiments and observation.

Science was the reason why a civilization could advance in technology, the reason why the average expected lifespan of a mortal could increase.

It was the reason why weapons of war got deadlier as time went by, and also the reason why the everyday life of people got easier. The learning pod Al'ravee was in was a product of innovative scientific experiments.

And science just had to have so many branches. No one could say he was good at everything. At most some top professors could have a degree in a couple of branches before they die. But Al'ravee wanted all.

Mechanical engineering.

Civil engineering.

Architecture.

Medicine.

Epidemiology

Chemistry

Energy conversion.

Basic Physics

Electricity.

Astrology.

Biomechanics.

Geographical structure formation.

Agriculture.

...

This thing he was doing was simply outrageous for mortal humans.

Unfortunately or Fortunately, he was interrupted just before it was complete.

############

*BUZZ!*

*BUZZ!*

In front of the pod, two humanoid entities blurred into existence. One of them was a seven-foot tall muscular man with a black mohawk-like haircut and a bushy black beard, donning tight-fitting black clothes.

Next to him was a woman who wore a simple yellow knee-length gown.

Obviously, these two were Al'ravee's adoptive parents, Krene and Jurdelious.

They didn't say much, Jurdelious just looked at Krene and nodded before she walked forward. Krene stopped in front of the pod, her golden glow casting light on Al'ravee's face through the glass panel.

"It's time Al'ravee. You can already feel your soul, just that you are too distracted to notice. Here, let me help you."

########

Al'ravee suddenly heard...no… felt his real name being called. It was so loud that it almost made him want to go mad, yet so barely audible that it was he who wanted to draw closer to the source.

This was the first time he was reacting to his real name in such a manner. Something was amiss.

Someone was calling his name. There were only three people that he knew that knew of his name. Ris, Jurdelious his father, and Krene his mother.

The voice he heard was that of a female so it had to be his mother.

Al'ravee felt his heart start to beat faster in anticipation. It seemed even after so many years, even after his heart had grown cold and seemingly uncaring, even when he thought that his heart was closed off, It wasn't enough.

Nothing could threaten the relationship between this over three-hundred-year-old boy and his mother.

"... Here, let me help you" He heard her voice.

Al'ravee opened his eyes again to see Krene standing outside his pod. Her hand having phased through the metal frame, caressed his cheeks.

"There, this name suits you." She said with a bright smile.

Al'ravee didn't need to think too muchtoobout her words as he felt something being added to his being.

"*sigh* Mother.." He caught sight of Jurdelious behind her smiling. "...Father, you're here." Al'ravee already knew the answer but he still asked.

He was deliberate in changing his way of referring to them, from 'Dad' or 'Mom', and called them 'Father' and 'Mother'.

"Can you feel it, boy? Your soul, you've acquired the concept of concept energy. Your mother just helped you with the concept of name." Jurdelious called out.

Al'ravee was confused at first before he noticed it.

It felt like having a body inside his physical body. Like the main body was a cloth yet not a cloth. Everything changed. He could feel it. He could not see it but he could feel it.

The concepts.

He didn't understand what anyone meant yet but he tried to.

"No need for that boy." The edge of Al'ravee's lips twitched when he heard his father call him 'boy'. Didn't they know he was already more than three hundred years old?

The lip twitching didn't go unnoticed by Krene but she didn't pay attention to it. "That would take too long son. We've got something for you."

Al'ravee's attention was seized by the object floating on Krene's palm in front of him. Her arm was still phased through the metal walls of the pod so the object was just a few centimeters from his nose.

The object was round and mirror-like. Small enough to fit into his mouth.

"This is the pathfinder. It will help speed things up." Jurdelious said. Before Al'ravee could ask what it was for, Krene shoved it into his chest without any hesitation.

The object sank in like it was intangible. He didn't have time to understand the sudden movements.

Al'ravee could see the new looks of urgency and anticipation on their face as they looked at him with worry.

"Al'ravee, we don't have much time. You just have to pick a concept okay? Ris will find you when you're done." Krene smiled and said.

*BUZZ*

They didn't let Al'ravee respond to what he just heard before blurring out of existence to wherever they came from.

'Why were they so hurried?'

Al'ravee had some questions to ask them. For now, he tried to focus on this so-called pathfinder that was inside him.

Just when he was worried that the object was not working, his entire being, both soul and body was overwhelmed by a horrifying pain.
