Chapter 16

Cesare gave a sharp look to the woman holding his hand again. He frowned at the thought that she might not know herself. Cesare had already lost a lot of time just waiting for her to come to her senses, but the reality was that now Neira was back in pursuit and would trouble him again.

With a cold look, Cesare shook his head. "No. You certainly won't be able to come with me." After giving a decisive answer, the woman did not release her grip on Cesare's arm until now both of Cesare's eyes glanced sharply at the woman's hand still on his arm.

As their gazes met again, Neira shook her head. She knew Cesare wanted her to let go of his grip, but Neira refused. Then she spoke, "Please, I want to come with you." Those sad eyes looked at Cesare pleadingly. She hoped that Cesare would listen and take her with him.

Cesare sighed heavily. This time he sharpened his gaze on Neira. "We don't know each other. Then how can I take you? I don't want you to cause me more trouble later." Cesare gave an
