The Pauper is Hidden Heir

Chapter 6

Julie looks very happy with Ricky, who is currently holding their engagement ceremony, which is so luxurious in one of the most expensive hotels in Severie.

Actually, they announced this event a few days ago. They invited many influential people, and everyone came to their current event.

"Julie, congratulations on your engagement." Julie's coworker Carla congratulated her. She came in a very fancy outfit and looked so elegant on her body.

Not only Carla, but all the people who came there, indeed looked very attractive. They wore expensive clothes as well as luxurious jewellery.

"Carla, thank you for taking the time to come to our event." Julie greeted her with great pleasure.

Julie continued to smile as people began to arrive. Of course, she thought everyone would be amazed that Julie could throw such a lavish engagement party in such an expensive hotel. She was also sure that the party would be the talk of the town in Severie.

"Of course I'll come." Carla gave a smile. Then she looked at Ricky's face and said. "Julie, it looks like you didn't choose the wrong life partner this time."

Julie smiled very widely. She glanced at Ricky, then looked back at Carla and said, "You're right. He's a really great guy. He's very different from my previous partners."

During the conversation, Julie felt upset when she had to think back to Cesare. She regretted that she had spent her life with Cesare. Fortunately, she had taken advantage of Cesare so that her company was getting better.

Julie immediately erased all the bad memories. She changed the subject by saying something else to Carla.

"I'm sure all the women will envy you and want to take your place to be part of the famous Torny family." Carla returned the compliment. This time, Julie glanced at Ricky so he could feel very proud.

"Of course. Maybe after the wedding, I'll have a new status in the Torny family. I can't wait for that. I'm also sure that with this suit, our glory will grow bigger than ever." Julie grinned at the thought of all that would soon be achieved. She was sure that if the Webster and Torny families merged, it would be an excellent advantage going forward.

"You're right." Carla, this time, turned her gaze towards Ricky and shook hands with the man. "I'm glad to know a great man like you. Even the greatness of the Torny family is well known throughout Severie City." Carla showed such admiration that Ricky smiled proudly.

"It's nothing new that everyone knows the power that the Torny family has. And I'm sure that Julie's life will be happier when she spends the rest of her life with me." Ricky replied very proudly.

"Julie, congratulations on your engagement." Another woman arrived. Her name was Belina. She looked very elegant, wearing a knee-length green dress. Then Belina looked at Ricky and said. "Congratulations to you. I've heard so much about how great your family is. You're a very nice couple."

"Thank you, Belina." Julie smiled. She felt increasingly proud as she was about to marry Ricky.

Now everyone was whispering about how great Ricky was and their compatibility. But at the same time, suddenly, an uninvited guest came and stood in the middle of the room. Suddenly, the man immediately became the centre of everyone's attention.

That man was Cesare. He came and attended Julie and Ricky's engagement party. And, of course, everyone started whispering about him.

"Isn't that Julie's ex-husband? Is he invited here?" The man who came along with Carla spoke up.

"You're right. He is Cesare. What did he come here for? Didn't he get dumped by Julie? I've heard a lot about that man, if he's been a useless husband." Carla gave her answer.

This time they looked at Cesare very low. Only those who are equal should be able to come. A poor man like Cesare, he had no right to be here. They waved their hands as if the air had become dirty because of Cesare's arrival.  

"Only an ignorant man can show his face when he's been dumped by his ex-wife." Belina chimed in to give Cesare a look.

Of course, Julie and Ricky were very red with Cesare's presence here. Ricky held Julie's hand and asked, "Did you invite that loser?" he asked with a sharp look. Of course, Julie immediately shook her head.

"There's no way I'm inviting that loser to our important event." Julie was so angry that she immediately let go of Ricky's hand and walked over to Cesare.

"What did you have to come here for? Did you come to beg us to come back?" Julie folded her hands and looked away from Cesare, saying, "Don't ever expect me to come back to you. Because trash doesn't belong with a woman like me!" Julie glorified herself in front of Cesare.

Julie gave Cesare an affirmation so that he would realize that he was expendable and that she could never go back to living with him again. She had had enough of spending three years with a loser like Cesare. And she vowed never to do it again.

"I hope you can see that I already have a very good companion. You'd better get out of here. You're not needed here at all." Julie looked back at Cesare to shoo him away, but Cesare chose to stand his ground.

"I didn't come here to beg a bitch like you!" Cesare emphasized the word bitch in front of Julie. And that made Julie's eyes immediately redden with anger at Cesare's words.

Everyone should have known that Julie was a slut, because she was in a relationship with another man while Julie was still married to Cesare.

"How dare you say bad things about me, loser? Don't you look in the mirror? You're even worse than trash. You're just a loser who has nothing that the Webster family has relied on before." Julie shouted loudly and made Ricky and Jolie come over to them.

"Why did you have to come here? Did you come because you thought that Julie could be back in your arms? You shouldn't dream too high because you'll only fall afterwards." Ricky belittled Cesare in front of everyone.

The heated argument made everyone come closer and see what was happening. They also looked down on Cesare. And also looked down on Cesare brightly.

"How can a person who has been banished dare to show his face here? It's so shameful." Carla raised her voice again to insult Cesare in front of the crowd. She had heard so much about Cesare from Julie that she didn't hesitate to insult Cesare.

"You should hear that and get out of here. Everyone doesn't want to see you here." Since the first time Cesare came, Jolie had been furious until this time she chimed in.

"I just came to give them a gift for their engagement." Cesare answered very calmly.

Hearing Cesare's answer, of course, Julie and everyone there laughed. How could a loser like Cesare give her a gift? Even all this time, he never had any money. And now, Julie had sold it.

"How many dollars of money do you have? Even I'm sure you won't be able to redeem yourself from the person who bought you. Then how can you make a big deal out of saying you're going to give a gift? I think you've also lost your sense of shame." Julie let out all her anger at Cesare.

"So, this man was bought by someone? That's very embarrassing." Belina looked down on Cesare again. She looked Cesare up and down with a look of disgust.

Everyone was starting to look down on Cesare, but Cesare was still very calm. And that made Ricky feel very angry.

"You'd better feel sorry for yourself before you think of giving a gift. It's better to just get out of here and we don't need any gifts from pecundan." Ricky approached Cesare and was about to push him, but Cesare immediately restrained Ricky's hand.

"Let go! How could you dare to desecrate my hand stupid man!" Ricky pulled his hand out of Cesare's grip.

Just as Ricky was about to finish his sentence, they all suddenly heard firm footsteps. The sound of the footsteps grew closer until they saw five people dressed all in black walking towards them.

It looked like there was going to be a commotion again.

Then the commotion happened again. Several people dressed in black walked into the engagement party and broke through the crowd. The men in black had such scary faces that everyone became tense.
