CHAPTER 14

After getting his license, Abraham did what anyone would do. He went to this big job billboard of the guild. Many adventurers are also there, trying to choose a job they would accept to earn money and some guild points. Because that is the system here in this world. If you succeed in a job, then you will not only be awarded with money, but also points. And if you have the enough number of points, then you will be able to rank up. But not the C-class to B-class type of ranking up. Inside the classes of adventurers, there are individual rankings. Like when you are in C-class, inside that are ranks. Since there is a lot of adventurers especially in that certain rank, then the guild has created ranking systems inside classes themselves. Just like right now, Abraham is the 10th A-class adventurer in this guild, and he is ranked 10th inside of it as he is just a newbie. The system was not that confusing, especially when Abraham had studied almost everything about this world by reading when he is not doing perverted stuff outside. In any case, the two went to the billboard and take some job to do. He may be an A-class adventurer, but Abraham is being cautious as he does not want to wound up in difficult mission. He can never bite more than he can chew. Even if he does want to make a name for himself, he must start with the little things. As he was looking for jobs, someone suddenly stood at his left. This person smelled like grape. He turned around and looked as he then saw this beautiful girl with this ash gray hair. She looks absolutely stunning. She was wearing some light armor, so she is definitely an adventurer, and she was choosing for a job right now. Then she looked at this boy who was looking at her with those sparkling eyes,

"Uhm, can I help you with something?" the girl asked.

Finally, Abraham snapped out of it,

"*Ahem* Can you give me some tips on what job to choose? I am a rookie, so I don't know much of this." Abraham says.

"Of course! What is your rank?" the girl cheerfully asked as Abraham told her his rank.

She then began to scan the billboard. And what Abraham noticed is that her eyes moved faster than his. Is that an ability? Or just a special trait? In any case, she was beautiful, and Abraham could not take his eyes off her. After a minute, the girl was now done on studying the board. She then tore this poster off the board and gave it to Abraham,

"It's something ogre related that is terrorizing a town in the outskirts of the kingdom. The employer wishes to give a thousand silver if the job gets successfully done." The girl explained as Abraham took a look at the poster himself.

As he was reading it, Edward suddenly came out of nowhere. He wondered somewhere earlier, and now he is back with his energetic attitude again,

"Master! Who is this woman?" Edward asked.

"Oh, she's...what's your name again?"

The girl giggled, and it was absolutely petrifying,

"Sorry for my rudeness. I am Elaine, a B-class adventurer and is also looking for a job." She introduced.

"The name's Abraham Warlock, and this is Edward Newton, pleasure to meet you, dear ma'am." Abraham then bowed slightly towards her with a smile.

And then from out of nowhere, the girl then asked something,

"Can I accompany you in that job if you have chosen that? Don't worry about the share, it's okay if you just give at least 40%. What do you say?" the girl asked.

And since he was a real pushover when it comes to beautiful women, Abraham nonchalantly agreed, but then,

"I shall not accept this woman, master! Yours truly is enough!" Edward yelled.

Abraham quickly shuts him up. It might be stretch, but they need her. Based on the aura she is giving; Abraham did not agree to that just because she is beautiful and all. She is experienced and knows how things work. It is of no offense, but Abraham will learn a lot more with her than with Edward. But something about her makes Abraham feel that he should not accept her, but since he needs her to grow as an adventurer, then he must take the risk. Edward eventually agreed on letting her join, and with that, the girl smiled, and they went on their way. As they came out of the hall, many adventurers were grinning and smirking weirdly at them. Abraham thought it was about the beauty of Elaine, but to the adventurers who were looking, they were smirking for a whole lot different thing. Another person has fallen into the hands of that girl, and they will be excited to see how it turns out. The three first went to some stores to buy stuff they will use. It was a good thing that Edward has money, so they were able to buy 10 bottles of healing potion and some other stuff. Elaine has no problem as she already has these stuff that can be used in travels, including additional clothes and all. But since Abraham has no money yet, he was borrowed some for Elaine and promised to pay her once they complete this job. They then exited the town's gate as they went on their way towards the west.

After 8 hours of walking, the party decided to have some rest and go eat since they have walking for 8 hours straight without rest. As Abraham felt exhausted, Edward is still full of energy, and it was if he never walked that long earlier. He was also carrying almost all their stuff, and it was just surreal to see him full of energy after that. Elaine then took out as map before Abraham falls asleep. She placed the map on the ground and started discussing it,

"So, we are currently still 40 kilometers away from Bav. Based on the reports, the ogres have camps that is surrounding the town which prevents anyone from entering and leaving. However, there is something that we can do to get in there."

"How?" Abraham asked.

But when Elaine was about to explain it, they then heard a scream of a girl deep into the woods.
