Chapter 13 - Cube?

POV RIKO

Reyna sighed while she turned her head away from me. She seemed hard to answer. I know my question will open up her old wounds again. Moreover, this dark past made Reyna feel broken when she lost her big sister forever.

"It's fine if you don't want to tell me. I won't force you." I smiled a little, noticing Reyna's sadness.

Reyne looked at me sadly. "My big sister—"

TOK! TOK! TOK!

“REYNA! OPEN THE DOOR! KING DRACO WANTS TO MEET THAT YOUTH!”

"Draco? Shit!" Reyna widened in shock.

I immediately trembled with fear when I heard Draco's name. Just hearing Reyna's story, I was already terrified. Especially if I have to face Draco directly, a creature is cruel. That man would definitely not hesitate to kill me or let me escape.

“You must immediately flee from this country. Hurry up," Reyna whispered. "Don't let Draco catch you."

"But where should I flee?"

"Whatever you. Anyway, far away from this country!”

"But—"

“Hurry up, before it's too late!”

I have no other choice. The choice is just escape or die.

I hastily escaped through the window when Reyna urged me. However, as I ran into the forest, my foot slipped, and I fell to the bottom of the ravine.

"Argh! Help me!"

BRAK!

I fell face down on the ground. My whole body felt crushed, and my consciousness began to fade.

However, not long after, I faintly heard footsteps approaching me.

Who's he? I said in thought.

This has happened before, but I can't remember clearly.

“Argh, my head.” My head hurts as if I hit it hard. With great difficulty, I tried to sit up and leaned languidly against the wall.

I looked around me, confused. I remember the last time I fell to the bottom of the Pyloruf ravine, but why am I even now in the hallway leading to my apartment?"

"Am I just dreaming?" I looked all over my body, but the scales were gone. The mysterious blue light also disappeared.

I sighed, disappointed. It seemed true that I was just dreaming. It turned out that the creatures weren't real as William and Edward had said.

Maybe because I hit my head so hard that time it caused me to hallucinate frequently.

I winced in pain as I tried to remember what had happened to me, but I couldn't remember anything before I passed out. I don't even know why I fell unconscious.

I can only remember glimpses of that strange event when I was talking to a mythological creature, but I have no idea what I'm talking about.

I threw my backpack and lay down on the bed when I arrived home. My whole body felt crushed because of the fuss with Edward.

I took a deep breath. My eyes stared at the ceiling in thought. The strange events of this afternoon are still swirling in my mind. I still doubt very much that it was just a dream.

'Wait a moment!' I just sat up straight.

“Didn't my friends at campus say I was missing for a week when I got lost in the forest? But why do I feel I've only been missing for a day?”

I was confused by the incident when I was trapped in a landslide. All of my faculty friends said that I had been missing for a week.

‘This is really weird.’

Suddenly the blue light bursting from my bag broke my reverie. I was wide-eyed in disbelief. Isn't that blue light the same blue light that brought me to the fantasy dimension this afternoon?

I hastily took the bag that I threw carelessly, then opened it.

I was in disbelief when I found a blue box in my bag. My smile was perfect until my eyes filled with tears. It turns out that afternoon's strange events really happened.

"So it was this cube that brought me to that world," I muttered happily. “I have to show this magic cube to my friends and professors tomorrow in person. They will definitely believe that these mythological creatures are real!”

The next day.

I walked across the campus aisle confidently. There is no feeling of nervousness or inferiority like those that attack me when I'm in a crowd.

This time I was enveloped by a sense of pride because soon I would get the title of the inventor of historical, mythological creatures from campus.

I would embarrass my faculty friends, who always mocked me as crazy and an idiot in public.

‘My friends and lecturers must be amazed at my discovery a few days ago.’

“What's wrong with Riko? Why does he seem excited today?” I could hear the whispers of everyone standing along the corridor.

Arriving at the classroom, I found many students sitting at their desks.

“Hey, everyone! Please watch me for a moment! I want to tell you something important!” I exclaimed enthusiastically, standing in front like a lecturer.

Everyone looked at me with lazy expressions.

“Yesterday, I found an amazing item that can transport us to a fantasy world! Would you like to see it?!”

The students rolled their eyes lazily, then went back to chatting with their friends.

I'm sad that I didn't get the response like I expected.

“I'd better go to Professor William to show him this thing. He must have been amazed and ordered me to come up on the seminar stage to show this cube to someone so they would not look down on me again.”

I went towards the hall. Without knocking, I entered the percentage room to find Professor William busy preparing for today's presentation.

"Excuse me, Professor. Sorry to bother you." I stepped closer to William, who was busy reading files on the podium.

"What do you need?" William smiled warmly at me, then focused on reading again.

“I would like to present an object that I encountered yesterday.” I smiled brightly.

“What is that thing?” William remained focused on his work, so he didn't look at me. He seemed indifferent.

"I found a cube that can transport humans to another dimension."

"Are you kidding me, Riko?" Professor William chuckled a little.

"I'm not kidding, Prof. You must look at it!"

I rushed to open my backpack, but the cube suddenly disappeared.

"What's wrong, Riko?" Professor William asked in confusion.

"Where is the cube?" I muttered frantically.

 "Cube? What do you mean?"

"Shit! Is it possible to miss the apartment ?!" I immediately closed my backpack back and ran outside without saying goodbye. I have to go home to pick it up before the show starts.

I walked down the sidewalk at midnight. Now, I don't know where to go.

I've been walking around aimlessly all day long into late at night becauseI'm embarrassed to return to campus. I had checked the cube in my apartment earlier, but it wasn't there.

I don't want to return to the apartment. I need fresh air to relieve my tight chest due to disappointment.

Since earlier, my mind has been racing. I don't know how the cube suddenly appeared and disappeared. It pisses me off so much.

"What exactly has happened to me? Why have I been experiencing strange things lately? It's as if I can move around and live in two differelikerlds. Strangely, after that incident, I remember nothing. I am really curious to know whether that event was real or not, but how?"

"Hei, you! What are you doing here?"

I suddenly turned around when someone called me. My eyes widened perfectly.

"Aren't you...!"
