The Prodigious Ex-Husband

In the evening they arrive at the party venue. 

An extravagant automobile came to a stop in front of the presidential building that was hosting the party. It was a very important person.

Beverly Cox was the first person to exit the vehicle. She was dressed for the occasion in an elegant evening dress that featured ruching and a strapless slip bodycon. 

Her face was completely covered in fine, exquisite makeup that drew attention to her already stunning natural beauty and elevated her appearance to a whole new level.

As soon as she exited the vehicle, all eyes turned to her, and she quickly became the focal point of everyone's attention. She became the center of attention.

Before she got out of the car, she made the decision to wait until the door that led to the passenger seat opened so that Jaden could exit the vehicle.

 Even though he was wearing a suit, he did not give the impression of being a wealthy gentleman. This was despite the fact that he was dressed formally.

People couldn't help but poke fun at his appearance when they saw him dressed in the suit that gave off the impression of being of poor quality.

“ Who are all of these individuals? The way the individual looked gave the impression that he had only recently been taken in after living on the streets.”

 "I just can't help but wonder, who on earth would have invited them here!?"

Beverly, who was unaware of the situation, reached out with both arms, grabbed Jaden by the curls of her arms, and led him to the entrance of the building.

However, as soon as Jaden raised his head, his eyes landed on a person he had seen before. He recognized this person immediately.

 Vera Rae, his ex-wife, is the one standing in front of him.

Due to the fact that she was on a date with someone , she did not go out on her own. At this point, Jaden believed that he was her new boyfriend and assumed that he was the person she was dating. 

When Vera caught a glimpse of Jaden, he was on the verge of turning his back on her at that very moment.

  

Her bewilderment was palpable at this times.

Vera glared angrily at the individual and demanded to know what it was that they thought they were achieving by being in this location. Is it possible that there will be a performance put on for free behind this hoist? 

“What the hell do you think you’re doing here?”

In a calm and collected manner, Jaden responded, "I am here because a friend invited me to the party."

Vera had the perfect opportunity to catch a glimpse of the young lady who was standing next to Jaden at that precise moment.

When she saw her for the first time, she was immediately overcome with a profound sense of unease throughout her entire body.

On the other hand, Beverly was not told anything because she was unable to understand how they were connected to one another and therefore was kept in the dark.

 She watched Jaden with an expression of awe and curiosity on her face.

After observing this, Jaden made the suggestion that he could put them in contact with one another.

After clearing his throat, Jaden then proceeded to introduce Vera to Beverly by pointing to her and saying, "This is Vera Rae—" he paused before continuing, "My ex-wife." Jaden then smiled at Beverly.“This is Vera Rae,my ex-wife,Beverly. Please say hello to my friend ,Vera Rae.”

Immediately after he finished speaking, there was total silence in the room.

As the expression of perplexity gradually spread across Beverly's face, the corners of her mouth began to turn upward in an upwards direction.

 "How could anyone possibly let a phenomenal man like Jaden Reed go? Is this woman really as stupid as she seems? Or has she actually been oblivious to the fact that she possessed a goodwill toward others? Gosh!’ ’

Lost in a daze Beverly was unable to control the internal monologue that she kept having with herself. 

Vera had reached the point where she could no longer take it.She had always thought that she did not love or care about Jaden, but when she saw him with a girl — not just any girl, but a pretty one — all of a sudden she felt uneasy about the situation. She had always believed that she did not love or care about Jaden. This was especially true because the girl in question had a pleasing appearance.

It was an unsettling feeling, and when she looked over and saw Beverly's arms coiled around Jaden's, it made her feel even more irritated than she already was.

Vera confronted Jaden by standing face to face with him, accusingly pointing her finger in his face, and asking, "Do you take me for a fool?" Jaden was taken aback by Vera's confrontational stance.

“ I am aware that the justification you gave for being here, which was that you were helping a friend, is not accurate.Are you stalking me?"

"Jaden Reed, you can't expect me to be so dimwitted as to believe in your fabrications! I just don't have that kind of intelligence!I'm going to assume that your goal in coming here was to locate me.”

Vera smiled at Beverly briefly before refocusing her attention on the other woman.

She looked at her with disdain and ogled her in the process.

"I find it hard to believe that you would even consider using a hired call girl in an attempt to con me! This phony asshole b*tch that you're making a show of is just some random girl that you picked up off the street."

 Beverly and Jaden both found themselves at a loss for words and unsure of how to respond to the situation when it arose.

"Stop following me around and don't you dare try to do it again! Even if you were to give up your life, I would never marry you again!”

Vera's irritation grew to the point where she began yelling and cussing at the two individuals who stood in front of her.

"I can't believe how pitiful you are acting like a helpless dog looking for a bone. I can't believe how pathetic you are.Vera decided that she could no longer tolerate having anything to do with your pitiful and shameless behavior, and as a result, she filed for divorce from you.Did you suffer amnesia? Is that the reason why you have forgotten about it in such a short amount of time?”

"Oh, now that you mention it! You have arrived at the conclusion that you will suffer a significant loss if the Rae family is unable to provide you with assistance in any capacity.I have finally come to an understanding of the motivation behind your strutting around like a showoff.What a complete lack of morality!”

Alex Shawn, the young man who was traveling with Vera, chimed in as well with his opinion on the matter.

Then he said, "This is a party for potential business partners, successful entrepreneurs with fancy backgrounds, and high social status, but you're nothing but a piece of trash dressed in poorly designed suits," referring to the guests who were at the event. "But you're right here.Because attaining success is not something that interests you, you should really make an effort to learn how to remain true to who you are. It is essential that you acquire the ability to maintain your position.Put simply, do not continue in this manner any longer!”

"Take a good look around; you are the only peculiar person in this location," the voice said.“Your attire demonstrates that you have no business being here in the first place; on top of that, you had the audacity to hire someone to embarrass Vera and I; where did you get the nerve to do something like that? I find it hard to believe that you are willing to degrade yourself to such an extreme degree”.

In spite of the fact that Jaden had done a good job of keeping the escalating rage that was building up in his chest under control, he was no longer able to do so.

He had never in his life given any thought to the possibility that the woman he loved so deeply could be such an insensitive and pretentious individual.

 She had no airs about her and was highly respected by those around her.At the very least, he had the impression that she was doing that, but she has demonstrated beyond any shadow of a doubt that all she was doing was attempting to advance her social standing.

At this point, Beverly Cox smiled warmly at them and made an effort to set the record straight by telling them, "I'm sorry but you have the wrong idea of who this man is.It is not the case that Jaden is the person that all of you think he is.Please—”

Prior to Beverly having the opportunity to complete her sentence.The audience was immediately brought back to attention by the emcee's thunderous voice.

She made an effort to speak up for Jaden, but by this point, the party had already gotten underway.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen!Hello, and welcome to the marketplace's version of an auction! May you have a wonderful evening as we embark on this exciting new adventure together!”

Immediately after the report was made public, Alex Shawn snarled with derision and exclaimed, "See that! We are very busy people who do not have the time to participate in pointless activities with low-class people like the two of you because we do not have the time to do so.We shouldn't waste our time with swallows because we were personally invited to this party and are, as a result, regarded as very important guests. Instead, we should focus on more productive activities.”

"We have received invitations to attend this party, and we are looking forward to it.Where can you locate yours, exactly? Do you not have any in your possession? You see! Let me explain what I mean by the following.You are a nobody, and no one will make the effort to care about a nobody like you! This is the evidence that establishes our status as VIPs, whereas you are nothing more than a scavenging dog looking for scraps of food.”

   

Alex Shawn continued to belittle Jaden by hurling additional insults in his direction.

Jaden brought his fists together behind his back and clenched them tightly in an effort to control the rage that was welling up inside of him.

She simply glared at him and then informed him that "This party was meant for the rich and powerful and was organized by the talented brains behind the Cox Group." 

Vera didn't even bother to continue berating Jaden; instead, she just stared at him with a hostile expression on her face.

“Please, Jaden, come to your senses and get the f*ck out of here with that hired whore before the two of you do anything else to embarrass yourselves further than you already have.”

Vera seized Alex's hands as soon as she finished saying this, and the two of them bolted out of the location as quickly as they could.

 When they had left, Jaden turned his head to look at Beverly with a bewildered expression on his face after they had left.His eyes were darting in a bewildering manner as he moved around.

 He was curious and asked , "Are you the brilliant mind working behind the scenes at the Cox Group?"

 Before responding, Beverly gave a proud smile and shrugged her shoulders. "Of course!" she said. "Who else do you think it could be?!"
