Vera’s eyelashes fluctuated.

It was obvious that Vera's eye lashes were moving when she blinked.

When she found out that she would no longer have the opportunity to work with the Cox family, her heart took a significant hit. She felt as though someone had punched her in the chest.In addition to this, she couldn't help but think back to the information that Zack Connolly had given to her earlier in the day.

Vera's legs began to shake as she considered the possibility that her business would be forced to shut down as a direct result of the devastating blow that had been dealt to them.

 It was more than anyone could take care of at that point.

Vera was fully conscious of the fact that she was destined to bring about her own death. primarily on account of the fact that this will lead to a sizable loss for her company.

When Alex Shawn took a look at the situation as it stood at that moment, he found himself in an extremely dangerous position.

Because his family is among the wealthiest in the city, it is reasonable to expect that he will be able to assist his partner in the situation that they are currently in.

If he continues to disappoint her, he might as well hide his head in the closet if he does not take action to help her. 

Vera was in need of some reassurance, and Alex did his best to provide it by telling her, "Don't worry about it.Because my father has a great number of contacts in the industry, I am going to give him a call right away.There is a chance that he will be able to make use of his connections to secure us a second opportunity to win it.”

As she processed this information, Vera's expression went through a few minor shifts. She questioned with a smile, "Really? Is that what you're trying to say? You are truly a hero for helping me out of this predicament.I am grateful.I'm so lucky to have you"

The words of encouragement that Alex Shawn received from Vera propelled his sense of self-assurance to new heights.

After that, he demonstrated his superiority by withdrawing to the side of the room and speaking to his father.

While Alex Shawn was standing some distance away from Vera, he dialed his father's number and spoke to him. When the phone rang for the second time, his father picked it up.

"Dad, I could really use your assistance right now. Vera has gotten herself into a lot of trouble with the Cox Group, and as a result, the Cox Group has decided to terminate her cooperation with the company without providing any explanation.If we are unable to find an answer to this conundrum, then it will be too late for her to benefit from our efforts.”

Alex hurriedly explained his concern to his father, and then Alex said, "Dad, I know you have a lot of connections; you should pull some strings and get it back for us."

"Are you crazy?! Do you have any inkling as to the identities of the accomplished people who make up the Cox Group? Because I've never had the chance to interact with her before, I'm curious about the different ways I might be able to wield some influence.”

“ But, dad, I need you to understand that this is something that I place a high priority on.Something really ought to be brought to your attention!” Alex is very adamant in his position.

"I warned you.I beg you to please stop your relentless pursuit of this matter; I have no influence over how it will be resolved.In addition to that, my connections are not quite as widely dispersed as they are in other cases.Stay out of it and don't bother me with your input!” 

Due to Arthur Shawn's agitated demeanor, the call was terminated immediately.Alex felt dejected.

If he is unable to assist Vera in escaping the situation, it will be a black mark on his reputation, and it will hurt his chances of future  endeavors . 

 Alex made his way back to Vera while keeping a frown on his face.

On the other hand, Zack Connolly phoned Jaden and told him that he had been relieved of his orders. Jaden was surprised to hear the news. 

"Young master, I have given Vera Rae all of your orders, and I have informed her that we will no longer be working with her in the future." 

Zack Connolly readjusted his glasses so that they were now sitting on the bridge of his nose instead of the tip of his nose.

Jaden felt himself beginning to sink into a state of melancholy after hearing this.On the other hand, he finally understood that it was the price that they were required to pay in order to move on.

In spite of this, the sentence that Zack Connolly continued to deliver after that rendered him incapable of further expression.

Zack Connolly scratched the back of his head nervously and cleared his throat before approaching President Reed with the following statement: "President Reed, I think it would be best if you knew this—Ms. Cox had decided to cancel all orders for the Rae family.The opportunity for Vera Rae to become Beverly Cox's business partner also went to waste since Ms.Cox has blacklisted Trust Cape”

Jaden Reed was left in a state of complete and utter bewilderment after learning this information.

He was aware that if what they were saying was true, Vera Rae and the entire empire would be doomed to extinction and it would be his responsibility to ensure that this did not happen.

Before making his way back to the party, Jaden did not give it a second thought before continuing on his way.

However, as soon as he arrived at the entrance, the security guard pulled out a baton and blocked his path, preventing him from entering the building. This happened immediately after he arrived.

"Mr.where exactly is your invite?" When confronted by the security personnel,

As a response to this, Jaden stated, "I'm sorry, but I don't have an invite with me.You can put your trust in me,I was really invited by the host herself “

When the members of the security staff heard this, they gave an expression of disapproval.

He had heard many stories similar to the one he was hearing now.It would appear that Jaden is a destitute beggar who is attempting to use flimsy excuses in order to get into the party. This is the conclusion that can be drawn from the way things are shaping up. 

 The guard  stated, "Well, if you don't provide an invite, I'm afraid I won't be able to let you inside," in response to the question of whether or not the guest had been invited.

“Would you kindly leave at this moment? Don’t cause a scene and disturb the others”

The look on Jaden's face indicated that he was becoming more and more aggravated.

In spite of this, he kept trying to reason with the guards despite the fact that they were against him.

"As you can see, I'm not exaggerating; the host and I did journey all the way to this location together.If you don't believe me, you can check with her to see if she can confirm it for you.”

  

In an angry voice, the security guard demanded, "You came with the hostess, right? After that, all you need to do is give her a call and tell her to pick you up—all that's left to do is dial her number.”

After hearing this, Jaden was stunned to realize that he did not even have Beverly's contact information in his possession.

The person who was speaking apologized and said, "I'm sorry, but I don't have it with me."

The face of the security guard broke into a knowing grin as he glared at Jaden and demanded, "What do you take me for? Do you seriously believe that I am such an idiot that I will give in to your petty deceptions? You are nothing more than an ordinary beggar who has the ambition to live a life of luxury. You are not welcome here and should leave immediately or I will be forced to eject you myself, intruder that you are!”

Because of this, Jaden became enraged, and he was on the verge of lashing out violently at someone as a consequence.Thank goodness, right at that very moment, his eyes caught sight of Beverly making her way out of the party.

She was squeezing her hand around the hem of the long dress she was wearing.

Beverly left the party and went outside after she had finished providing Jane Lubbock with instructions on what to do.

As soon as Jaden noticed that she was getting closer, a sarcastic grin spread across his face.

At this point in time, Beverly was completely unaware of his presence.On the other hand, she beamed with joy the moment she noticed him standing at the door. 

She broke into a wide grin and dashed to his aid before he could even finish the sentence.

As soon as the security personnel became aware that Beverly Cox was interacting with Jaden, they quickly lowered their heads and hid their faces out of shame, realizing that they had unintentionally embarrassed her guest. 

They never stopped being terrified of what she might do if she ever found out the truth about anything and everything.

On the other hand, Jaden did not pay either of them any attention and remained silent while Beverly was talking to him.

When he was facing Beverly, he questioned whether or not it was possible for her to reverse her decision to remove Rae Group from the list of potential business partners. He questioned whether or not it was possible for her to do so. "Beverly, is it possible for you to reverse your decision to remove Rae Group from the list of companies that could potentially become your business partners?"

After that, Beverly just smiled and pulled out her phone, at which point she dialed the number belonging to Jane Lubbock.

 " Jane,do it!"

After hearing that, Jaden finally let out a sigh of relief after holding it for a very long time.However, his joy didn't even last a second before it was abruptly cut short when Vera and Alex Shawn emerged from the party together. 

This was a huge disappointment for him.

 They moved together in close proximity.

Alex could not help but feel a flutter of excitement in his chest when he and Vera saw Jaden and the other girl standing together outside of the party. Vera had the same thought when she first saw the girl.

  

 "Let's just go back to the room; I'm exhausted already, and I have to rest." Vera Rae expressed a desire to depart.

Alex Shawn, on the other hand, was in the mood for troubleshooting.

Alex had a hunch that they would not be able to acquire an invitation to the party, so he presumed that they would be required to wait outside in the cold.

 It was such a fantastic opportunity to embarrass them even further in front of other people.

Alex walked up to them with a sly smile on his face and laughed at Jaden before he said anything else. 

“Haha! Even though it's getting late, you're still out here greeting the guests even though you should be doing so earlier.Have you tried looking for the entrance to the building but been unsuccessful? You missed an opportunity to solicit my help; I would have been more than happy to assist a dog in need.”

"You must have been dehydrated after standing here for hours.Please accept these dollars and use them to purchase something refreshing to drink.”  After that, he laughed as he tossed a few dollars on them and then walked away from them.
