[3] The Hunger Crazed Man [Edited]

The terrane was visibly that of a dungeon, dark slick and slippery cave-like walls, and an ever bone chilling growl which never seem to have a source.

With every step he took, the distance further shortened, with potential death just looming by the corner.

Well, not that he cared too, that is.

Hunger, which originally made him a wailing mess, was now his juggernaut drive, making even the continuous scary growl sound like a melody from his potential dinner.

And he didn’t even have to search long, cause the dinner came on its own.

Leo’s eyes lit up and a dangerous glint flashed on them, as he stared at the flaming bear in front of him.

Flaming bears were humongous beast which possessed absurd strength, they had sharp merlot red eyes and an extraordinarily shape fangs.

Their cock-like hair were flaming as their name, and it spanned from its cranium down to their tail bone region.

Darting its gaze to Leo, it raised its red sharp fear-inducing claws and an orange-red hue encased it. With a loud terrifying roar, it lunged forward in an inhumane speed.

With its mouth fully opened, it’s terrifying fangs were revealed and it blood red eyes glowed crimson.

-Swoop!

The claw tore through the air and aimed to decapitate Leo in one strike, but he wasn’t startled by this sudden outrage, instead he dashed forward in direct confrontation.

[Lightening speed!]

Few inches from the unstoppable train in form of a beast, he intentionally withdrew all the power from his limbs, and he lid right through its leg.

As quickly as he could, he stretched forward his left leg and abruptly came to a halt. in an inhumane speed, he spun around and clasped the hilt of his sword which was strapped at his back.

The beast’s attack met with an afterimage of Leo and it was stunned on this realization.

This was a spell Leo crafted himself, whenever it activated, lightening encases him and his physical abilities are momentarily boosted.

The mana consumption of the spell is horrendous, so he only makes use of it at desperate times, thereby increasing his speed exponentially for a split-second, causing afterimages to be left behind.

On this discovery, the flame bear’s instincts kicked in and it threw itself into the air and spun around, bringing Leo’s visage in full view.

“Well aren’t you nimble?” Leo mussed, as he was already in a squatting position, wielding his sword by left.

In an instant arcs of red lightening crackled out of his body, his pupils glowed red and his hair rose up forming spikes as the lightening coursed through it.

In a split second, and with a speed no one would have ever believed, not even the bear, he sprung forward in a flash and appeared directly behind the beast.

Its eyes dilated as the human vanished before it, the flaming bear tried to move, to run. but the whole dungeon suddenly flipped upside down in a blink of an eye.

Inserting his sword back into its cleaver, Leo pulled out a small dagger and approached the corpse. With precise fluidity and meticulous handling, he butchered its corpse and separated the bones.

Now there was meat, so how does he now get fire next? Simple, magic.

Stacking the bones together, he stretched his arm forward and muttered.

[Vephenia]

Flames infested the bones and brought warmth to his surroundings.

After that, he sat on the ground with his two leg crossed and with constructive thinking, he used the leftover bones to create a make-shift meat suspender.

In just an hour time, steams of deliciousness emanated from the huge lumps of meat and he couldn’t hold back his saliva from slipping out. If someone saw his eyes now, they would theme him a depraved animal.

Within a few minutes, satisfaction was attained.

He now had a lightly protruded stomach due to over eating, but he didn’t care about that, instead a big smile was plastered on his face.

His eyes had reverted back to that of a sane person, and now, he could think properly.

“Haaa~” Letting out a satisfied sigh, he took to his feet and stared at remains of the former behemoth.

Ashes

The beast was now nothing but ash and a source of nutrition to Leo.

“Alright”

Though his hunger had been satiated, he still had to forge ahead, to find out what laid within the deeper part of a dungeon.

Getting to standing, Leo clasped his sword and strapped It’s shealth by his shoulder. And with blazing speed, he sped across the dungeon, headed further and further into the unknown.

________________

’Welp, isn’t this a pleasant surprise?’

Leo stood with a rather displeased expression on his face. Standing before him was a battalion of kobolds, and they, were by no means frendly.

Kobolds are malevolent and grotesque diminutive humanoid race which had a strong similarity to goblins, they appear in a larger number and cause great cataclysm every and anywhere.

Possessing blood red eyes, a rhino-like face with tusks, and rigid stone-like skin that cause huge headache to adventurers, they are a troublesome set of animals to deal with.

“””Skriiiii!!!”””

They skried in unison and lunged towards Leo, all wielding a stone club which looked absurdly huge at the peck.

Weighing the pros and cons of his plight, Leo couldn’t help but frown his brow. Conjuring fire in such an air tight condition could only back fire, and even with the few hour he had, had only recovered two-quarter of his mana, so using his lighting speed to kill them all was an even risker option, well unless…..

Using his sword as an intermediary, Leo locked on the horde of beast rushing forward.

[Drench]

In an instant, a wide spray of water emanated from the tip of the sword and reached forward to tug the crowd.

-Thump

With an intense stump with both feet, he sprung backward weilding his sword still directed at them.

[Lightening feast!]

Crackles of lightening coursed from his body and surged into the sword….

-KRRRRRRRAAAAKK!!!

In a matter of minutes, the kobolds were all charred to death leaving nothing but corpses.

On viewing the success rate of his plan, Leo was just about jubilating when a suddenly growl knock him back to reality, and this was louder than any he had ever heard before

“Oh Damn”

Now that he was no longer crazed with hunger, he could feel and sense the severity of his situation, and to top to his troubles, he only had one-quarter of his mana left.
