Chapter 3

['To atone for your sins, you are forever banned from entering the Holy Gates. You are cursed to hunt down and kill the Cursed Human. Then, and only then, will you regain your full power to fulfill your destiny of restoring harmony to the world. The Creator has bestowed the final verdict. You will live on Earth until you have proven yourself to be worthy of being faithful once again. ']

"I'm sorry!" Purple painfully whispered in tears before stabbing the blade into the human that resembled her exactly.

The lightning grew stronger as the wind and rain rampaged through the night. The sound of thunder was deafening.

Purple walked out of the room with blood dripping from her dress and from the tips of her feathers.

"Purple, she's fifth. Can we take some rest now? " a little girl asked innocently.

Purple smiled bluntly and grabbed the piece of paper that the little girl was holding. She crossed out a part with the blood from her hand.

"Let's go." Purple said, then picked the little girl up and flew to the mountains.

The rain stopped. The night was already deep when they reached a simple wooden hut settled at the foot of a waterfall. She put the little girl to bed and went straight to the falls to get a refreshing dip in the water to remove the blood stains and wash away resentments.

"Humans are disgusting!" Purple said. Her voice filled with hatred.

She sat beside the little girl after her bath.

"Purple, I can't sleep. Why did you cry again?" the little girl sweetly mumbled while moving near Purple to cuddle.

"What did I say about asking little human?" Purple answered.

"You’re bad, Purple. Ahm, so what’s next? Are you going to wait again? "

"Yes."

"Will you still look for me after many years?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because I need a reminder. So, keep doing a good job as my watcher. "

"Thank you, Purple. So, I only have..." the little girl’s voice broke.

"Just sleep. Take a rest. I’ll do my best to extend your days. "

"Can you tell me the story of the Fool Paragon now? Please," the little girl begged.

"Look, I have told it over a million times now. Every time I meet you. "

"But that was a different me."

"Do I have a choice?" Purple sighed.

Purple knew that the little girl would not stop bothering her.

"But promise me you'll sleep after this,"

"Thank you, Purple."

"Whatever!" Purple inhaled deeply and exhaled before starting.

"I love you, Purple." The little girl whispered.

"Stop it or I won’t tell."

"Sorry,"

"Long before the Great War broke out, everything was in harmony. Humans lived in peace in a paradise the Creator had given as a gift to them. It was beautiful.

At daylight, they co-existed with the Keepers, Consorts, and Guardians to keep the purity, balance, and faith so that, in time, their souls would be worthy of being one of the Faithfuls.

At night, when everyone was asleep, there were higher beings sent down to bless the humans as well as the paradise, miracles. Beautiful miracles.

They were called the Seven Great Paragons. These Paragons were gifted with puissant capabilities that no ordinary angel could surpass.

Their features were beyond greatness. They were glowing in their respective colors, and they had majestic wings.

But each of the paragons had different personalities. And the oddest one was known as the Fool Paragon.

Except for the physical features, the Fool Paragon was seen with a very jolly personality. She always laughed, played, and did things whole-heartedly. She loved love. She had this warmth that made her strangely puzzling to others. She observed and believed in the power of honesty.

The Fool Paragon, together with the six others, did what they were told to do, and that was to serve the highest creations, you humans!

The Blue Paragon was responsible for the replacement of fish in rivers and seas. He had to finish first because, as a leader, he had to stand under the great tree to oversee everything.

The White Paragon was assigned to purify the air and waters so no one would be sick.

The Gold Paragon revived strength and showered rejuvenation to every human after a very tiring day.

The Red Paragon took care of the mountains, valleys, and plains. He surveyed it to make sure its strength would be enough to contain human safety.

Silver Paragon’s work was to give life to land animals as well as hatch eggs of any kind of feathered animal that were hunted down for food and clothing.

The Jade Paragon made sure that trees and plants consumed by humans for shelter and survival would grow back.

Lastly, the Fool Paragon blessed humans with good dreams and beautiful reminders of the Creator’s greatness.

Everything was going smooth until this Fool Paragon encountered trouble, which piqued her curiosity. She discovered that behind all the knowledge she was taught, there were lies.

It was where all the chaos and breaking started when she met a human. Though she had always seen humans, this human could see her. Shegets terrified at the thought of breaking the rules.

They were instilled with many rules. And the most observed, and strictly mandated, was to never interact, nor their existence be known to any human---which she never asked why. She just trusted those who were in command.

She started searching for answers, but it only made things worse. While searching, she learned to fall in love.

She met the human and knew things. She knew that the Six Paragons who she trusted lied to her. The Fool Paragon realized that she indeed was a fool. She got tricked and used because of her innocence.

All the things she believed, the pureness, balance, the beauty of faith, the happiness and love, there were no such things. There were only lies, deception, and greed, the three devouring sicknesses that corrupted the once harmonious world the Creator made.

The Blue Paragon led a rebellion because of resentment and rancor, seeded by jealousy.

The rebellion, which later broke into war, took the lives of many. Neither Keepers, Consorts, nor Guardians were able to withstand the wrath.

The Creator felt betrayed. So, everyone who sided with the rebels was punished with a lifetime curse, which will only be over until the Discernment. "

"Is it the end?" the little girl asked.

"No, the Fool Paragon is still in search of the whole truth, and that’s when it will all be over,"

"I guess I’m unlucky enough not to be able to hear the end."

"Now sleep." Purple said before she decided to walk out. She looked up the starry sky.

" I must know. I don’t want to be a fool anymore. "
