Chapter one hundred and three

Rhys nodded, pretending to be obedient, but on inside, he was seething with determination. He was curious about the doctor’s plan and he needed a way to stop it if necessary, no matter what it took. Dr. Mikhail seemed to sense the tension that Rhys was feeling on the inside. “Rhys, are you okay?” he asked, his voice dripping with concern.

Rhys forced a smile. “Yeah, Doctor. I’m fine. Just a little worried about the mission, that’s all.”

“I understand, Rhys. But trust me, everything will be okay. We’re on the brink of something big here. Something that will change the world.”

Rhys nodded, pretending to be enthusiastic but inside, he was screaming with frustration.
