Chapter 42 She is missing

"Eleanor!" Jerome shouted, his voice shaking with fear. The night was silent, except for the soft rustling of leaves in the wind and the distant chirping of crickets. Jerome's heart was racing as he ran toward Eleanor, who lay crumpled on the ground. He saw the blood pooling around her and his stomach clenched with fear. He yelled her name, his voice hoarse and trembling.
