Don’t protect me!

Chapter 8

"Are you friends with the god of war?" Tyler asked, taken aback.

As the god of war himself, Tyler couldn't comprehend why Judas would fabricate such a claim.

"Yes, the god of war is my friend. Do you have a problem with that?" Judas answered confidently. "I don't chill with lowlifes like you, I chill with important figures"

Tyler tilted his head as he couldn't believe the confidence Judas has.

"Or do you personally know the god of war? Why am I even asking you that kind of question? You don't know him and you can never know him because I'm very sure you can't meet him, not even in your next life. It won't be possible," Judas mocked Tyler.

The eldest master, who had been silent until now, suddenly burst into laughter.

"He thinks he is someone important,'" The eldest master pipped in,

Tyler chuckled and shook his head in disappointment "I doubt anyone of you even know the god of war; the god of war that I know can never be your friend." he told them.

The young master, taken aback by Tyler's response, retorted, "What are you trying to say?" He narrowed his eyes. "Are you accusing me of lying? How dare you accuse me wrongly?" Tyler burst into laughter while staring at the two brothers.

"Have you ever seen him before? Like have you guys sat down and talked as friends?" Tyler asked.

"You must be out of your mind. We had dinner with him last night, but he didn't come to this birthday today because he has something important to do. How can a lowlife like you doubt us?" Judas stated.

"You should stop lying, because I can't recall having dinner with you both yesterday," Tyler said, causing the two brothers to burst into laughter.

"What are you trying to say? Are you suggesting you're the god of war? You must be a joker. I thought you were a liar before, but I never knew you were crazy. How can you lie about something like that? God of war? Keep dreaming big, my dear," Judas remarked.

"You guys have been telling me about him, I never knew he is one interesting person like this," the eldest master remarked, prompting the guests to burst into laughter. They murmured among themselves about how Tyler was confidently lying.

"You're here pretending to be the god of war just to save your wife. Do you even know who the god of war is? He is the head of all dragons and has won numerous wars. Do you honestly believe you can win even one battle, let alone multiple wars?" Judas asked.

"He lies on another level. I have never seen the god of war as wealthy as I am, and I wish to see him one day. And this one here is claiming to be the god of war," one of the guests remarked.

"I knew you all wouldn't believe me since the Wilson's have fed you all with lies. I don't care if you all believe me or not," Tyler said before facing Judas.

"I will advise you to release my wife right this moment. If you don't release her, I am going to take her away from here forcefully, and I am going to ruin your birthday party," Tyler said before kicking the table in front of them. Judas clenched his fist angrily.

"You should do your worst. I want to see what you're up to. As for your wife, I am not releasing her; she's ours now," the eldest master declared.

"Honey, you should stop all this! Stop putting yourself in danger. I know what you're doing. I know you're lying to save me, but please leave here and save yourself first," Adrianna pleaded.

"You don't believe me, too, Adrianna? Do you think I would lie about something like that?" Tyler asked.

"Tyler, three years is enough for people to change. It's just as if I don't know you anymore. Just leave; I don't want you to make matters worse. I will sacrifice myself, as I said. Just leave and take care of our daughter," Adrianna said. Tyler clenched and unclenched his fist; he knew three years was enough for him to change, but the only change in him was becoming the god of war. He felt a little hurt that his wife didn't believe him; he expected his wife to trust him.

"I'll save you, Adrianna. I have the power to, so you just have to believe me. I need you to trust me that I can. Just trust me," Tyler said.

"Tyler, leave before it's too late," Adrianna said, softly caressing his face with her palm.

"I can't leave. I would love to make it up with you. I need my perfect family back, and it won't be perfect without you. So, I will make sure I save you and also deal with all the people that did this to you," Tyler said, and Adrianna burst into tears.

"I don't want you to save me. I don't want it. Just leave. Leave! I don't know why you're being stubborn. Leave. I don't want to see you near me again!" Adrianna yelled. Tyler looked at his wife, fighting back the tears that threatened to fall from his eyes. He knew what his wife was trying to do; she was trying to protect him, but he hated it.

"You don't have to protect me, Adrianna. I'll protect myself. This is my turn to protect you all, so you don't have to be afraid," Tyler said. Judas stood up from his seat with a smirk dancing on his face. He picked up a big plank and moved closer to where Tyler was. With force, he hit Tyler hard on his back, causing him to fall to his knees.
