The meeting came to a halt almost immediately as it had begun, and Nathan was glad for the matter addressed already. He'd as well used that as an opportunity to announce to the members of one particular Doris Castiel's bidding, and made it clear to them that she would be made the winner.

They could not object.

An hour later, Nathan was back in his office, wandering deep in thoughts. That morning, the woman who'd appeared before him hadn't been his wife. Doris never really partied, well, unless that Ronnie Anne of a friend was around.

Perhaps she'd been right and truly, all night she spent it with her criminal friend. Perhaps.

But why hadn't she picked up all while he'd been calling? Why would she keep her phone on silent?
