Nathan purposely played dumb in front of the Castiels, but told his wife how to place the bid. He told her to trust him, announcing to her that he found a job at the same company her brother had been talking about, and that he has inside information. That Monday morning, Nathan had hurried straight to work, and entrusted Doris to place the bid. Of course she didn't understand anything, but she would have to trust her husband. She trusted Nathan with her life. She was not sure about Nathan's instruction, but having decided to trust him at last, she placed the bid for her family without noticing the others. ✩★✩Thirty minutes later after Nathan had left work, he was already home. To his surprise, Doris hadn't been the only one at home. "Mother?" The word shockingly emitted from his lips as a soft whisper as soon as he opened the door to catch her view. She was scolding Doris, as usual. And her bodyguard—and son!—Owen, had been standing beside her. Doris's eyes were meeting with the f
"I have told Doris to place the bid. And here's my proposal. If she wins, you must all promise to make Doris over here," he paused to steal a glance at her, and the worried stare on her face propelled him to speak faster, " the family CEO, and never ever, mention us divorcing again.""And if she doesn't win?" Said Owen, almost instantly. "Then, I'll leave her and never bother this family ever again." There was a loud gasp from Doris, a slender hand covered on her opened mouth. This reaction followed a raucous laughter from Evelyn, and Owen followed in the footsteps of his mother. Evelyn's mouth twitched with a smile, and let out a triumphant yelp. "Oh... So you, you want to tell me that... Seriously?" Another series of thundering laughter followed. "You think that she would win? That you can win this bet? Ha!" A faint tremor of amusement appeared on Owen's lips. Nathan watched in silence all through their drama. He was certain that his wife would win. All of their mocking would on
Soon enough, the news was tuned in and the whole family gathered before the TV's screen to hear the winner's announcement. A slender tall lady with bright eyes and blonde hair let loose down her shoulders walked up to a podium reserved for her. Nathan instantly recognized her. She was the secretary at his firm. "Hello everyone, I'm Tori Lawyers, secretary from TMN Insurance firm, and I bring you news concerning the bidding of TMN contract." She began to say, and everyone tensed up, ears sharply pointed with attention. "I will be representing Mr Anakin, our firm's CEO..." When she brought up his name, Nathan stared around with an awkward expression on his face, and his heart pounded loud. He began to wonder if any of them had somehow caught on, but none of them seemed to realize that his name had just been called out. "Good... "he muttered under his breath, then continued watching."...and I would love to personally thank all of our bidders. Here's a special thanks to Mr Pedro Alonzo
The entrance to the building led to a few stairways that would eventually lead inside. Nathan had caught a view of Pedro striding in, a young beautiful lady beside him. Who was she, his daughter? Nathan had almost stepped in when the ground suddenly gripped his legs tight and wouldn't let go. He was already fuming with rage. Now, Pedro and the woman were carefully making their way up towards him. He could just ignore this mad man and his sidekick and get on with his day. Unfortunately for him, Pedro knew exactly who he was. He'd met him one time and just that one time, Pedro had insulted him to the point where an insult was deemed too much. He'd visited the home of the Castiels one night for a Christmas dinner, and surely enough, Pedro knew that he was Doris's husband, yet, he disrespected him and made him a laughing stock after Evelyn had announced that he didn't have a job and he was useless. The man stopped, brown eyes on a slightly misshapen big head eyeing him with disdain. F
"Mr Anakin!" The woman shouted again, a bit enthused seeing the CEO directly in front of her. She'd just resumed that morning and so, she hadn't met Nathan yet. The rest of the staff who knew Nathan's identity had been ordered not to say anything. They all pretended like he was a normal staff member as well, because Nathan didn't like the attention from here and there. He let his secretary, Tori, handle issues with the press and other important issues that needed the present of the CEO. Then when Tori wasn't representing him, he was representing himself in secret; replying to mails, signing important documents, giving orders that the entire firm all followed. Pedro turned again to observe the woman's expression and just in that flicker of time, Nathan took the opportunity to signal to her not to say anything. He'd hoped that she would have been orientated before resuming. Fortunately for Nathan, this woman was smart because she instantly acted casual. "Good morning," she said in a
Nathan was not dead. In fact, he was more than alive. He was well refreshed. The accident that happened nine days ago on his way back home, helped him regain part of his memories, just only bits though. But quite enough of it.The down side of this magical awakening however, was the trauma that came with it. There was the tragic incident first that followed immediately after the accident, when he thought he was dead. When he tried to sleep but only woke up to the accident happening all over again. Then, there was the event of his past. Fourteen years ago, and the memories were still sharp and fresh as ever.Really, there were a lot of traumatic shenanigans happening in his head at the moment. And then, the chattering amongst the board members came back filling the air and disrupting his already maniacal mind."Can everyone of you be quiet now for fuck sake!"✩★✩Doris knew it. She was so certain now. Staying at home doing nothing was torture, and so, she would no longer be part of th
Evelyn Castiel was a mad woman.Yes, even she knew that much. Or would you say, 'selfish'?Her marriage with her husband had failed long before they'd even become husband and wife, yet, she was still with him. And that was only due to one reason. The man was rich.Sure now their business was going down the path of failure, but she wouldn't have been the woman she was if it wasn't for her husband. And the other day she had dared to accuse her daughter of falling in love. Oh what she would have given if she'd been born into a perfectly well raised woman like her daughter. Never would she have married the man she called her husband now. She had never loved any man to heart before, but dear Lord, had she met many men with quite good intentions. If only she hadn't been interested in marriage just for the sake of riches and respect, she would have been with one of those good men out there. She wouldn't have been forced to coerce her daughter to marry that man they called Pedro. She might h
Ronnie Anne was a rogue. The slightly chubby lady with round face, big eyes that held an air of innocence—which in reality, didn't—glowing in smooth fair skin, was the exact opposite of Doris. She was too much of an extrovert, a lesbian and was extremely gregarious in nature. This led to Doris' actions of getting drunk and hooking up. Now, she just needed to remember what exactly it was that happened the night before.Waking up in a bed covered with navy blue thick blankets, her eyes gazed on the brown roof above her. She was still in doubt, wondering what hell of a night she'd shared with her friend..."Ronnie Anne?" Just as she remembered having spent the night with her long lost friend (even though it was only for two years), she also became clear of another thing. That was not her house. The fact that Ronnie Anne hadn't been there as well made it all disturbing for her too. The curtain blind next to the window had been left open, allowing neat flow of the early morning sunlight in
