Chapter 97.
Masking fear was a survival essential where Lidia was from. So much so that she didn't feel fear as others apparently did. She processed it differently, routed it through her prefrontal cortex instead of letting the more primitive brain do the choice-making. Some things we are born with, others are epigenetic alterations, adjustments she guess. So she could be damaged by fear. It could cause her harm to her brain and body the same as others. The difference was that, it shut them down, making her more alert, more adept and creative problem solving.

Fear of abandonment became her core belief because of events outside of her control when she was just a child. There were ways to fix and counter that, ways to teach one how to have healthy anxiety-free relationships. One could have great core values. One could believe in good things and have a hero heart.

She was worried sick for her daughter, waiting for her to return after hours of disappearing.
