Depression

Mrs Larry stood at a distance, casting her gaze downwards as her husband bailed her out. The officers made life a living hell for her. Most of which was her fault because she wouldn't shut up.

Larry was pissed at her. His expression was enough evidence but buried deep in those eyes was something else.

Something possibly more terrible than her arrest. Once she was out, she did the questioning. She needed answers from him. Whether he was willing to talk about it or not.

“What happened?”

“Can we get home in peace?” He retorted. A confirmation that something was indeed wrong. A stubborn part of her wanted to push him to speak but the other chided her to leave him be.

She had caused him enough trouble already.

Mrs Larry held her peace until they arrived home.

“Will you tell me what happened now?” Her impatience was adding fuel to whatever fire was burning within him.

“What happened? I just paid a hefty sum to get you out, that's what happened! Your beloved niece is in her room anyway.
