"Mr Harrison, is there a problem?" The official asked. Lance couldn't get a word out as he stared at the audience. Several thoughts ran through his mind as his brain analyzed possibilities. He jerked back to life the minute a hand touched his shoulder.

He fished his pockets for the flash drive and took it out.

"Play this," he handed the flash to the operator.

"But Mr Harrison…"

"Do it dammit!" Lance snapped. He stared at the projector, praying to whoever was listening that it wasn't what he was thinking.

There was no possible way he could have been scammed of millions of dollars right before a huge audience.

Besides, Tridax had placed a bounty on him for theft so he was convinced there was no way it could have been a sham.

By the time both product overviews appeared on the projector side by side, Lance realized that the pictures they stumbled upon weren't a pure coincidence or carelessness on the part of Antony, but were carefully planted to secure the confidence of investors.

It took a few days for Roselia to understand what Lance fully meant at the hospital. He sold off two of his pricey cars as well as the car he gifted her. Her mother was furious and threw tantrums here and there, but Lance didn't even bat an eyelash. He is more interested in raising a substantial amount to fund his new project. He curtailed their lavish outings, stopped getting her pricey gifts, and sold out almost fifteen percent of his shares in Lance Corp.Even though things had fallen apart, the company didn't seem to be affected by the change. Probably because Lance was selling off properties to ensure the stability of the company. As much as Roselia hated that every bit of luxury she enjoyed was taken from her, she was willing to bear with Lance. She was one hundred percent confident that everything would bounce back tenfold stronger and she would enjoy more for sticking with him through it. As for Zade, days ago, she confronted him about the auction but the man seemed totall

"Are you writing me a cheque?" Roselia asked. Zade gave her a flat look. "No.""No?""I'm giving you the permission to call her," he stated."You really want me to call her? You know you can just give in to my demands and…""Cut the crap. You want to tell her about the loan, don't you? Go ahead and tell her then. You don't need to threaten me, just do it," he interrupted. "You think I'm playing? I'm really going to call her," she warned. Zade rolled past her to the documents. He picked them up and scanned through them. When he felt her gaze on him, he asked, "Do you need to take pictures as proof? Here, click photos of these."Roselia stared at the documents he stretched to her, unsure of what to do. Was he trying to test her or did Elizabeth know about the loan? If she didn't, why was he comfortably urging her to expose him?"Does she know about the loan?" She asked quietly. Zade dropped his hand, "no.""Then why are you encouraging me to tell her?" She asked with surprise."Becau

Lance woke up to the sound of the doorbell. At first, he was reluctant to answer, but then he was curious to know who was at the door at such an ungodly hour.He grumpily got off the bed and went to answer the door. He opened the door and blinked. "Rose?" His eyes fell on the bags with her. "what are you doing here with so many bags? It's not weekend yet.""You should have an idea already. I'm tired of Zade. He's not only annoying but selfish as well and very stingy. He has the money yet he wouldn't take care of me," she complained. "I see…" Lance trailed."I just hate him. He keeps making things harder for me. I can't take it anymore, which is why I've decided to leave him for good. I have been denying you because I thought something could happen between him and me. I wanted us to go back to the way it used to be, but with the money of course. I didn't plan to replay our stupid broken love here, but Zade is not even making things easy for me. Lance stabbed the eggs idly with his fork. Events of the previous day kept replaying in his mind. No matter how hard he thought about it, nothing seemed to make sense. Aside from the shareholders he already knew, no one else had shares in Lance Corp, so where did the stranger pop out from?He calculated the shares of the current shareholders in his mind over and over again and it summed up to eighty-two percent. That added to his eighteen percent would make it a complete hundred so where the hell did the sixth percent come from?Only one of them had thirty percent in shares which, to the best of his knowledge, was the highest so far. So what was this talk about the rest of them sharing thirty-five percent? He had so many questions to ask, but they insisted he wait for the meeting scheduled next week to present his questions and concerns."What happened?" He blinked when he heard Roselia's worried voice. "You've been playing with your food for over ten minutes. Is there a problem?""I

Lance woke up to find Roselia already dressed. He rubbed his eyes sleepily and glanced at the clock. It was past 9 a.m."Where are you going this early?" He asked. "Early? I should be asking why you're still sleeping. Have you checked the time? It's almost ten," She told him. Lance groaned inwardly. Left to him, he would have slept in the whole day, but he had to keep up the charade. To avoid letting her know about the problem at the company, Lance resolved to play it cool and act like everything was normal, even though he was no longer CEO.Today was the meeting with the new chairman and Lance couldn't miss it for anything. He had so many questions regarding the new management and even researched for additional information. The meeting was by twelve which was why he was still in bed."I'll be going later, for now, I just want you to spend time with me," he replied."Right now?" He nodded. "Sorry babe, but I'm not sure that will be possible. My mom just called me to come home urgent

Zade rolled to the table, leaving Lance perplexed. Everyone in the room stood in greeting, while Lance stared speechlessly. By the time they sat, Lance remained standing, staring at Zade with a slightly dropped jaw. "Please have a seat, Mr Harrison.""You don't tell me what to do," Lance asserted. "I demand an explanation right now.""If you'll have a seat, you'll understand what's happening," Zade replied, calmly. Lance felt more pissed. The way Zade addressed him as one who was inferior to him. The man could deceive anyone with his fake calm and pretend to be the responsible one but Lance wasn't concerned. His desperation for answers overshadowed the need to please."Have a seat, Mr Harrison," Sebastian's irritation was evident in the crispness of his voice.Lance sat down, staring expectantly at them. "Lance? You're back so early?" Roselia gasped. His eyes narrowed at both of them. "What pregnancy? Are you pregnant with another man? Your ex-husband?" He asked. Roselia glanced at her mother. She didn't want to ruin her chances with Lance, but at the same time telling him the truth would cause damages. "I asked a question, damn it! Are you pregnant for Zade?""I… I… the thing is…""She's not pregnant, okay. It was just a ploy to keep her beside Zade while he was with Elizabeth. She is not pregnant, alright? There is no need to be angry," Mrs Harper interrupted her. Lance's furious expression remained the same. It was then he realized that both he and Zade had been nothing but prawns in their quest for wealth. She pretended to be pregnant to trap Zade while she clung to him like he was the love of her life. All in all, she'd been nothing but a gold digger. He already had a hint about it and he was ready to overlook it, but this pregnancy issue coupled with the conspiracy at the

He had someone follow her the minute she left and he knew pretty well that she hadn't gone to her mother's. She had been living with Lance Harrison. He took a sip of his drink, accepting her excuse. "I'm not upset. I just missed you, but it seems you came back for a different reason," he said and her eyes widened in shock. Zade gave a low chuckle. "Your share of the loan, perhaps?" He completed the words with his eyes fixed on her, studying every movement and expression on her face. She blinked rapidly and cleared her throat, "Yeah… the loan… of course…"Zade knew at once that it wasn't the reason for her return, but he smiled at her nonetheless, accepting it to save her the stre

“You sure this plan is going to work?” Elizabeth asked for the umpteenth time.“Why do I feel like it's not the plan you're worried about but the person you might find,” Elsa crossed her arms. Elizabeth let out a sigh. “It's just that, I really like him, you know. I desperately want him to be the good guy. It will break me if he is actually the mole here.”“It's okay to be terrified. It's normal when you love someone, you want them to be an angel. A misunderstood villain and all of that but we need to face reality here. If Zion is not who he pretends to be, then we need to purge him out of your company before he ruins you,” Elsa said frankly.“But why would he?” Elizabeth threw her hands in her hair, confused and frustrated. “I offered him a job as my PA with a heavy paycheck and mouthwatering allowances to enable him to better the lives of his grandmother and son. I got him a fucking luxury apartment. Why would he repay me by sabotaging my company?”“You've said all the good things

“Who do you work for?” The question was accompanied by a punch to the man's guts. He let out a groan but that seemed to be all he was going to do. Groan and groan until they got tired of hitting him.“I asked a question! Who is your boss?” He barely acknowledged the question, focusing on the wounds on his body. He had been stalking Elizabeth as usual when three cars entrapped him and he ended up here. The men had been torturing him for three days straight but all attempts to get him to speak were futile. The highest he did was scream and curse at them.“Tie him on the electric chair,” came an order. The man wasn't even panicked by it. They weren't going to oil him because they needed answers so nothing they did scared him. After tying him to the chair. They bathe him with water. His heart heart accelerated a little. He knew what electricity and water could do and frankly, he didn't want to experience it. “Are you ready to talk?” He was given a last chance.“Never!” “Perfect.” T

That everything would be fine.“Is Mommy dead?” She heard that familiar voice.“No, she's not. Look here, she's breathing.”Helen was a little relieved. At least her little girl was sensib

Elizabeth arrived at the office looking tacky which was so unlike her. Zion followed her into her office curiously. She'd never been an hour to work before and definitely not looking the way she did now. The eye bags were evident and her lips were chapped coupled with the rough ponytail she had on. She looked sick.“Good morning, ma'am," Zion greeted but she gave a mere nod in response. “Uhm… is everytime alright? You don't look fine. Yesterday, you left the office suddenly and today you look like a mess,” he observed. Elizabeth glanced at him before scampering through the files on her desk. “Ma'am, I know you might not feel the need to talk to me after my behavior yesterday and I apologize. I just had a lot going on so I might have taken out some of the frustration on you," he said lowly.“What makes you think this is about you? Look, Zion, you are just an intern here and I advice you focus on what you're here for. Don't bother yourself about me, I'll be fine," she said coldly.

Her heart picked up as she noticed this strange car taking every turn she took. Once she arrived home, the car sped past but Elizabeth knew it wasn't completely gone. Hurrying to her father's room since her room was bugged, she took a look out the window. Just as she thought, it was packed at the other side of the road, directly facing her house. Elizabeth tried to make out the figure in the car but she couldn't tell who the driver if the driver was male or female because the glasses were tinted. With this person monitoring her, it was unsafe for her to stay home. Who knew how many cameras they planted in there. Shooting her father a quick text, she exited the house with two bodyguards. Her next destination was her grandfather's house. If she went to one of her penthouses or another mansion or even called someone to check the bugs in her room, it was very possible they could use it as an opening to plant more. I only threw the plane at you because you were too engrossed in work to hear me,” she said lightly. His brows knotted together in displeasure. He was not enjoying the conversation.“I couldn't hear you because I am deaf,” he gritted. “Why are you being so cranky today?
