Two Sides

Adera stared at the doorbell, reluctant to ring it. She was here to see Zade since the man had completely cut her off after their last argument. She couldn't really call it an argument since all she did was hurt him and break up. In her defense, she was hurt too. He was in bed with another woman!

Maybe she should have given him time to explain, but she couldn't think straight at that time. All she wanted to do was make him feel the same pain she felt. Now she wasn't sure if that had been a good decision or not.

She finally mustered the courage to ring the doorbell and Elizabeth answered.

"Hey," Ader smiled immediately, but Elizabeth didn't return her smile.

"What are you doing here? Did you leave any property of yours behind?" Elizabeth asked.

"Come on. Liz, we're friends. What's with the sudden coldness?" Adera asked lightly.

Elizabeth's gaze remained hostile, " You haven't answered my question."
