CHAPTER FOUR HUNDRED

After Adam had dropped her off, Leila walked into their home with sweaty palms, occasionally biting at her lips,

She tried to keep her cool and not let her nerves get the best of her. She had already told Joan that she would be back just in time for their dad's arrival, and now, she had probably missed that.

She walked into the living room gently, trying to be as silent as possible, hoping not to bump into either Joan or her father she tried to sneak in but she faltered in her steps with popping eyes to discover both of them in the sitting room discussing,

“Leila.” Her dad called out gently as she walked in, with her gaze lowered and her fingers crossed at her back,

“Come here, princess.” Her father said, spreading out his arms to receive her in for a hug.

“I am sorry I was not here to welcome you, papa.” She whispered tearfully as she hugged her father tightly,

“I know I have disappointed you; please forgive me, papa.” She said as she continued to let it rain with her tears.
