As William Bates was dragged into the arena, Cecil's demeanour shifted dramatically; She went from a state of fear to one of misplaced arrogance,

"Ha!"

She exclaimed loudly, standing taller, as if William's presence had suddenly granted her strength and invincibility, a wide smile spread across her face as he was brought in, and she looked at Adam’s way and sneered at him, before looking at Williams with a smug smile,

"My darling son-in-law is here now. Nothing can touch me!" Her voice was loud, filled with a brash confidence that seemed out of place amidst the tension.

Adam watched this transformation with a wrinkled nose and curling lips, his eyes extremely cold as he glanced at her, his look was a mix of surprise and disgust as he stared at Cecil,

The same woman who had been pleading for mercy just moments ago was now sneering at him as if he were nothing. He could only roll his eyes in response, disbelief colouring his every feature, as he shook his head.
