Without awaiting his response, the distinguished man bowed down to the fellow he had just been about to drag, and he found himself confused.

"Erhm, I'm certain there's a mixup somewhere, did you take a look at the man you're bowing to, and did you have a good look in the mirror at yourself before you stepped out?" a man from the crowd stepped forward while asking his question. The former ignored him as he focused on Adam.

Adam had hoped for Raul to not create a scene with his excessive display of respect he had come to manage, he had tried to no avail to catch his eyes as he neared, in order to give him a signal. He surely didn't want Louisa to know that his status had changed for the better. As far as he was concerned, it was good riddance.
